The Republican Party has a problem. No, it’s not the Republican Party, but a group of out of control conservatives who apparently want to be the conservative version of the liberal Democrats who are also out of control.
The very real problem is the fact that the vast majority of these “conservatives” ARE NOT Republicans, but are Third Party Losers. People like Larrey Anderson are part of the problem, not the solution, when you constantly bring up “conservative” and not Republican.
The very real problem with this is the fact that there is no outrage against these people within GOP ranks. There is no move to expel them from the great “conservative club” and somehow distance the GOP from these people. Non Republicans like Richard Viguerie, who is nothing but a pawn for the Moonie cult, have no business telling the GOP what to do.
Unfortunately they are like those invasive jungle ants that devour everything in sight, destroying everything in their path. They say they are conservatives, and the average “honest” conservative who just doesn’t think things through, takes them at face value. They are sucked in to agendas that are not Republican and not at all honorable. They are intellectually corrupt, associating with the very worst among us, but pretending to be “one of us”. Richard Viguerie, Howard Phillips, Chuck Baldwin, Michelle Malkin, Peter Brimelow, Pat Buchanan, an the late Paul Weyrich. They are NOT Republicans. They never were.
Viguerie is bought and paid for by Sun Mung Moon. He is at best a con artist. He is at worst a destroyer. He betrayed Reagan. Howard Phillips and Paul Weyrich did the same thing. Phillips and Baldwin are part of the Constitution Party with its white supremacist ties.
Peter Brimelow’s twin brother John is a former leader of the National Socialist Party – that’s neo-Nazi. Peter founded VDARE, which features some of the top neo-Nazi, KKK, and white supremacist writers in the world. Michelle Malkin is one of their top columnists.
Are you getting this? Michelle Malkin is a top columnist for one of the leading white supremacist publications in the country.
Radio talking heads such as Michael Savage, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity are NOT Republicans. Ingraham is so anti-GOP at times that she should shoulder, completely, the GOP’s 2006 defeat. She did the most to promote NOT voting for Republicans and voting for conservative Democrats. But – you won’t hear hear own up to her duplicity now, will you?
All we hear is “conservative” from self-involved conservatives to the point where the very word “conservative” is taking on narcissistic properties of a borderline sociopath. Like AJ Strata so aptly said, if we cannot remove these sociopath conservatives from the GOP, and completely distance the GOP from them, we’re sunk. Complaining about Chip Saltzman, Strata writes:
“…Ideological idiots. Obama is very popular and now respected, and this stunted adult goes off in a fit of 3rd grade thinking and tarnishes the brand of conservatism that Reagan and the Bush’s had turned into a respectable political movement. With this muck sticking to the word ‘conservative’ I will not be associated with the movement anymore. I have limits to what I will tolerate and this is well beyond it. This guy needs to be marched off the public square.
It would seem the GOP and its extremist wing have a generation of growing up to do before they are ready for prime time and leadership again. I see no path to salvation with the current crop of haters. From the obsession with Obama’s middle name to this scum-duggery, the right has completely self-destructed. Unless the GOP treats haters like this (and Savage, and Levin and others) like their close cousin David Duke and disavows them their tolerance for what is wrong is just intolerable for most Americans. …”
AMEN BROTHER!
Even Mike Huckabee could not bring himself to castigate Saltzman as the more immature conservtives met to try and take over the GOP (God Help Us All)!
I don’t care if the “song” is racist or just in poor taste. It damaged the “GOP Brand”. It showed a tremendous lack of judgment. It is a stupid mistake. FTS News has Saltzman pegged, and is not very flattering about it. The fact that just about everyone and their grandmother is lining up to support Saltzman is not good, never mind the fact that most of the people supporting Saltzman are THIRD PARTY CONSERVATIVES.
This is the problem – the THIRD PARTY CONSERVATIVES.
I left the “conservative movement” months ago when they left me. Strata is beginning to “get it” about the individuals who are doing what I consider terminal damage to the GOP. They are destroying it. People like Michelle Malkin are the problem, not the solution:
Malkin had the nerve to write:
“…As much as I am nauseated by the left’s reaction, the overreaction of some on the right is even more gag-worthy. Current RNC chair Mike Duncan professes to be “shocked” and “appalled.” Others are assailing Saltsman’s lack of “sensitivity” and “tone-deafness” in sending out a joke CD by his good friend Paul Shanklin. Still others argue that even though the parody is not racist and is totally defensible, it’s just too much work to defend it. If that’s the kind of GOP “leadership” we’re in for the next four years, it’s going to a long, long four years….”
She then goes on to defend Robert Stacy McCain and his comments. That makes a heck of a lot of sense. From the SPLC’s Hatewatch Blog:
“…McCain, who was once a member of the neo-Confederate hate group League of the South, often filled these briefs with items from hate sites. A foe of interracial marriage, McCain regularly quoted neo-Confederate activists favorably in his stories. In 2005, stories freelanced by McCain to the website of the conservative newspaper Human Events were scrubbed after that publication’s editor, Thomas Winter, was given information by the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Report about McCain’s racism.
This Tuesday, Hatewatch contacted McCain for comment about the managerial changes at the Times. McCain, who then seemed upbeat, told Hatewatch that he felt that newly named executive editor John Solomon was a “stand-up guy.” McCain added, “Of course, the newsroom was shocked by the back-to-back announcements that both Wes Pruden and Fran Coombs were leaving,” and called both men “excellent newspapermen.” He especially praised Coombs — who has his own history of ties to white supremacy — for being “the cog that turned the wheel, the straw that stirred the drink” at the Times….”

Classic argument by assertion combined with blunt argumentum ad hominem. THIS is a large part of the problem with the Repugnican’t Party: folks who can’t make a decent argument for real conservatism… and apparently can’t even recognize it or abide its principles, one of which is simple decency. (Anyone who throws the “Nazi” bomb in an ad hominem argument has lost any claim to common decency.)
BTW, have you spent any time reading articles at VDare? There’s quite a wide-ranging POV found among the articles there, with some pretty pointed arguments made. Reproductions and discussions of Samuel Francis’ view of anarcho-tyranny is but one of many areas that would serve you well to read. Not all is worthwhile (and indeed there’s much at the site to argue with), but then, as you’ve demonstrated with this post, not everything here at The Pink Flamingo is worthwhile either. Still, painting the whole site as a Neo-Nazi hate site is not silly but seriously dangerous… to reason and discourse, just as dismissing your whole blog because of this post would be less than useful.
Sorry, but VDARE is a known white supremacist site. John Brimelow is a known “Former” neo-Nazi leader.
Why would anyone want to even be considered part of their line-up which includes any number of white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and KKK leaders?
What is wrong with admitting some “conservatives” are tarnished beyond redemption? Until conservatives realize that there are bad people out there, even though they cloak themselves in the mantle of “conservatives” they are a losing cause. I don’t care who or what it is. Denying this isn’t going to advance the conservative movement – or the GOP. it is only going to make things worse.
If Peter Brimelow were so “Good” why would he even publish things by people who have a known agenda of hate?
Oh, as for the “Nazi” bomb – I’m not tossing it, I’m quoting it – with proof.
