Bad Cats, Behaving Very Badly (as usual)

Christmas is over, as is New Year’s.  Being a good Episcopalian I like to leave my Christmas Tree up until 12th Night.  This year – forget it!

I think the photos speak for themselves.

My beautiful tropical flowers did not arrive from Hawaii until a few minutes before my party began on Christmas Eve.  Once the flowers arrive, the need to be soaked in cold water for up to an hour.  I could do nothing but put the huge bunch in my largest stock pot and let them soak on my desk the entire evening.

Later that night, after everyone had left, the cats and I arranged the flowers, which took about thirty minutes.   I put them over on my server, where I usually place my flowers.

The cats love ’em.

Bubbles is my naughty child.  She immediately decided the palm fronds would make a nice midnight snack.  After a week they’re starting to look a little ragged.  Tropicals should last a good 3 weeks.  I don’t have much hope for that this time.  It looks like the ginger flowers may survive.  The greenery is just about shot.

Oh well, a good time was had by all.
