Barack Obama’s “Green” Inauguration, as in show me the money, is now so expensive President Bush has had to declare an emergency to free up funding.
If times are so bad – that we are living in the 2nd coming of the Great Depression – why the heck is The One (elect) spending upward of FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS on his extravaganza? Why not take that money and do some good with it?
Barack Obama is turning the most sacred moment in American culture into a classless, upstart side show. I am disgusted and offended.
The thing that offends me most is how the MSM denigrated President Bush over his inauguration, but do nothing but worship at the feet of Barack Obama.
The MSM is going above and beyond to assist in the coronation of The One. Don’t worry. They are not alone. Once the bastion of class and perfection, the fawning fans of The One (elect) have turned our nation’s most sacred moment into just another version of a ballgame, or a NASCAR race, complete with sponsorship. I fully expect to see The One (elect) parade out in a suit with name brands on his sacred person. I can just see his back with a big Winston sign on it. Is The One (elect) going to sell space on the new limo? Why not, he’s already channeling Great Lincoln’s Ghost.
The New York Times
“…Free tickets are being handed out via MSNBC.com to see the inauguration and parade from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. ET at the 27 theaters run by 11 exhibitor partners in 21 markets. Midday Tuesday isn’t necessarily a big movie time, so it helps to fill the theater — and boost popcorn and soda sales — at a time when it’s not usually busy.
That means that Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews and other MSNBC and NBC personalities will play the big movie screen in addition to the usual MSNBC cable and satellite stream. MSNBC won’t be in high-definition until the second quarter, but both the channel and Screenvision say the quality will still be high….”
According to Newsbusters, CNN views Barack Obama as Moses.
“…CNN.com may have tired of the idea of Barack Obama as a political Messiah, so they’re switching it up. On Monday night, it posted a report from rural Mississippi headlined “Grandson of slaves: Obama is our Moses.” Senior producer Wayne Drash told the story of poor James “Little Man” Presley, who still picks cotton on the land his ancestors worked as slaves:…”
And – according to CNN, The One (elect)’s Inaugural speech will be one ‘for the records’ – magically historic – even though The One (elect) has yet to give it.
“…Historians and speechwriters say it could be one for the ages, if he can rise to the occasion.” He reenforced this sentiment with clips from a former Clinton-Gore speechwriter who predicted that it’s “a pretty good certainty that you’ll have schoolchildren reading this speech hundreds of years from now” and a professor who claimed that “it’s almost impossible for Obama to fail.”
Co-host John Roberts introduced Acosta’s report, which started 25 minutes into the 6 am Eastern hour of the CNN program, by focusing on the “great anticipation about the inaugural address” and how many “expect it to stand with some of the greatest ever presidential inaugural speeches.” Acosta began with his “speech of his lifetime…one for the ages” line,” and played a clip from Obama’s 2004 speech at the Democratic convention. He echoed Roberts’s earlier lines by stating how “the stage is being set for an address that’s destined for the history books….”
