I am beginning to believe Sarah Palin truly DOES have a future as the first female POTUS. It is obvious she can’t do a durn thing right (according to the liberals). If she keeps this up, she’s well on the way to being our nominee.
This isn’t about Sarah Palin and taxes. It is about the MSM getting revenge on the world for The One (anointed) choosing very flawed tax cheats who are so damaged they cannot be confirmed to their appointments. It’s about a far, far, far left liberal who has decided to run against her for governor, for the Democratic nomination. FYI – if she does decide to run again, can you imagine all the hate and the money that is going to flow in to defeat her?
One of the best commentaries comes from Dan McLaughlin at Red State:
“…Anyway, Palin’s situation, in which her tax preparer reported only the income on her W-2, is rather dramatically different from that of, say, Geithner, who was given a manual by his employer explaining the taxability of his benefits and reimbursement for the taxes, and he still didn’t pay them, and paid back less than all the back taxes he owed (only enough to avoid an enforcement action). Here, the state had a mistaken policy that appears to have predated her tenure as Governor, and that affected other people besides her. It’s embarrassing, to be sure, but efforts to seize on the story are simply a sign of the Democrats’ desperation to divert attention away from the beam in their own eye….”
Then there is the fact that when every other state is wringing their hands and crying that the end is near, Sarah Palin is cutting the budget of Alaska by a half a billion bucks!
The MSM continues to do their fair share in trying to destroy the career, character, and future of Sarah Palin. The WPost now is declaring Republicans resent the way she destroyed John McCain’s chances.
“…”A lot of people around here see it as the Eva Peron syndrome — Sarah being Evita,” said Larry Persily, a top aide to Mike Hawker (R), co-chairman of the state House’s Finance Committee. “She doesn’t care about the political establishment, but the people in the streets love her.”
Yet some Republican observers privately wonder whether Palin will be burdened by her divisive impact on people — and possibly dismissed as someone with a formidable base who is too polarizing and parodied to win nationally. Just recently, the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund enlisted actress Ashley Judd for a video attacking Palin by name for her support of an Alaska program that permits hunters to shoot wolves from aircraft to pare their numbers. The reference to Palin meant that overnight, the issue became ample reason for cable news stories about her and the controversy….”
Obviously the MSM now lives on Planet Obama where all reality is suspended in order to prop up the fantasy of The One (anointed). From Newsbusters:
“…A Rasmussen Reports national survey taken immediately after the election found that 69 percent of Republicans believed Palin helped McCain and 91 percent held a favorable view of the Alaska governor….”
Steve Maloney has a fascinating idea at Draft Palin 2012. We need to put the MSM out of business. It’s like this. CBS’s is doing that all by it’s little yellow self.
PALIN REQUESTS RULING:
We’re now being treated to the usual liberal media pile on about Sarah Palin and her per diam taxes. Contrary to the way the lurid national headlines read, SARAH PALIN IS NOT IN TROUBLE WITH THE IRS. She requested the ruling.
“…”At the Governor’s request, we reviewed the situation to determine whether we were in full compliance with the pertinent Internal Revenue Service regulations,” Kreitzer wrote. “As a result of this review, we determined that per diem needs to be treated as income, requiring a revision of W-2 forms for any affected employees.”
The new determination by administration officials won’t affect state lawmakers, said Pam Varni, director of the Legislative Affairs agency.
Under IRS guidelines, legislators receive tax-free payments to help with living expenses while in Juneau for the legislative session — if their home is at least 50 miles away, Varni said.
The current rate, set by the U.S. Department of Defense, is $189 a day. That goes to everyone except the three Juneau-based legislators, who get smaller payments that are taxed as compensation.
Legislators can also charge the state $150 a day for time spent on state business when the Legislature is not in session, but those payments are taxed as income, Varni said.
Begich’s situation came to light through a political survey released last week by Politico about senators and their taxes.
Fifty-five senators, including Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, didn’t answer the questions, and a few others owed money but didn’t consider it “back taxes” for one reason or another….”
Read how CBS spins the story. It makes her look like a tax cheat, which Perez Hilton basically says she is.. But, just how well did the MSM cover Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner, Tom Daschel, or even the new Chief of Staff. At least the WPost today had the grace to admit Palin herself called for the review. Naturally CNN will never give her a break. Never mind the ethics problems the Dems are having.
