They say Lindsey Graham insulted both libertarians and Ron Paul Supporters. Good!
It’s too bad more Republican leaders aren’t like Lindsey. He is one of the few people in DC who truly gets it when it comes to Ron Paul and his horrible supporters. When they tried to disrupt and destroy the SC GOP during the State Convention on Saturday, Lindsey took them out. Naturally the far right, non-Republican blogsphere and hate Republican media is playing it quite differently!

“You’re a hypocrite!,” one man in the audience yelled.
“I’m a winner, pal,” Graham retorted. Moments later, after saying he wants to the party to reach out to independent voters, he said: “Winning matters to me. If it doesn’t matter to you, there’s the exit sign.”
The crowd in Columbia also featured some Ron Paul supporters who offered several libertarian resolutions during the convention that were rejected by the state party.
During his speech, Graham told the audience, “Ron Paul is not the leader of this party.” That remark drew a few jeers, with several people yelling, “Yes he is!”
“I’m not going to give this party over to people who can’t win,” Graham responded.
Ron Paul Bots took over the SC COP State Convention. A few petty Ron Paul Bots attacked Lindsey and now the liberal and conservative blogsphere are blowing the whole thing out of proportion.
The comment process at Gateway Pundit is very revealing and the perfect example of why the GOP is in trouble. If the extremist Ron Paul Bots and the far right conservative angle don’t shut up long enough to learn how to behave like adults and learn how the political process works, we’re simply going to be handing the future of the nation over to Obama and the Dems.
Only extremists demand absolute devotion to their petty little requirements and ideas. Once upon a time, during the days of Ronald Reagan, absolute devotion to a cause was not required and the same people who are booing Lindsey and destroying the GOP and our future are the ones who tried to force Reagan not to run for a 2nd term.
Reagan did not require purity nor did he demand conservative 100 percent ideology. This is something new and is destroying the GOP. If these far right IDIOTS do not shut up and listen once in awhile, and quit believing this Reagan Revisionist Pablum being spewed by Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Ingraham and company, we are going to be in very serious trouble.
The worst of it, is the Ron Paul Bots are so pathetic and so disperate for a little attention that they are making a huge big deal out of one or two extremely rude jerks who heckled and bood Lindsey. Once upon a time behavior like this would not be tollerated within the GOP. It shows how badly degenerated the Ron Paul Bots truly are.
The blog coverage of the event, and blog comments also highlights how out of touch the current crop of 100% Pure conservatives truly are with the myth and legend of a Ronald Reagan who never was. It’s about time someone started dealing with these people before they destroy our country with their bumbling revisionism. Fortunately there are people like Lindsey who have the courage to take the battle to them. I noticed one of the blogs denigrating Lindsey is advocating the John Birch Society. They also worship Reagan. Problem is Reagan thought the John Birch Society was a joke. These people aren’t NORMAL Republicans. If these are the ones calling the shots in the GOP, well, Ronnie, we have a problem.
The convention highlighted the difference between Lindsey’s version of winning and DeMint’s losing version of purity.
“…U.S. Sens. Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint took the stage to discuss where the party is headed nationally.
Graham spoke about what divides and unites the party, such as the movement by some members from Republican to Libertarian ideals. To protect the country, outlaw abortion, uphold the Second Amendment and cut taxes, the party must stay intact, Graham said.
“I don’t want to be in a Republican club where we all feel good about what we say to each other and the Democrats run the country,” Graham said. “I want to be in a party that matters to this country. I want to win where we’re losing.”
DeMint, who will be up for re-election in 2010, said he would rather have 30 Republicans in the Senate who believe in limited government, free markets and free people than 60 Republicans who do not stand by their beliefs. When the Republicans had the majority in Congress, they lost their way, he said.
“What we’re doing here today is fighting for the very essence of who we are as a country,” DeMint said….”
