The late alleged pedophile Michael Jackson is now being hailed as the most famous man in the world. This will indeed upset Barack Obama who thinks he is the most important.
Farrah Fawcett was a very lucky woman. She was loved. Ryan O’Neal basically dedicated the last two years of his life caring for her, fighting her battles, and being there when she needed him. That is love. We should all be so lucky.
On the other hand….
The Pink Flamingo is absolutely disgusted by the praise being heaped on an alleged pedophile. I don’t care if there was never a guilty verdict, the man was sick, disturbed, and evil. He is being eulogized as the person who revitalized the music industry and was a direct influence on Brittany Spears.
Oh what a remarkable legacy, an alleged pedophile passing on a legacy to a seriously disturbed young woman who has helped to corrupt a generation of young women, sexualizing young girls. It is a bit ironic considering how Jackson allegedly preyed on young boys who were in a financial condition not to fight back.
It is a disgusting commentary on our society, that someone who, a few years back, would have been booted from the public eye for his alleged pedophilia. But in this day and age, when money and celebrity are everything, all that matters was the quest for the eternal dollar and for one’s moment in the spotlight.
How many parents basically sold their young sons (allegedly) to this alleged pedophile for money, fame, and a few celeb photo opts?
Our culture is a strange thing. Farrah Fawcett departed this life at the age of 62 after battling cancer. That now iconic 1977 pin-up poster that is now pathetically tame in its innocence and the fact that at the age of 50 Fawcett had the nerve to pose for Playboy and do a nude video for Playboy.
That’s not exactly wholesome, but Fawcett did not trade in the corruption of the innocent the way the late Jackson did.
According to Ryan O’Neal Fawcett died after receiving the Last Rites of the Catholic Church. She died repentant. One doubts the same thing occurred with Michael Jackson. We can hope it did, but somehow I doubt it. Fawcett will have a full Catholic funeral in LA.
“…”She’s gone. She now belongs to the ages,” O’Neal tells PEOPLE, also confirming that she received the last rites of the Catholic Church. “She’s now with her mother and sister and her God. I loved her with all my heart. I will miss her so very, very much. She was in and out of consciousness. I talked to her all through the night. I told her how very much I loved her. She’s in a better place now.”…”
I would probably not even be writing about her death except, except to note the absolutely remarkable loyalty of Ryan O’Neal Over the years O’Neal has been a stinker. Today though, he remarked:
“…”After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away,” O’Neal said. “Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world.”…”
Sure Ryan O’Neal has his problems, but the man needs to be praised for standing beside the woman he loved. I think it is now Ryan O’Neal’s story to tell. How many men have simply deserted women who were in her position, leaving them to die alone, wondering what they had done wrong when the only problem was the fact that they had terminal disease?
What Ryan O’Neal did was remarkable the way the world is today. We’ve been praying for Farrah’s Salvation. I think we need to begin praying for his.
