Finally, after 233 years, our country is a success!
John Adams would be so darn proud of us he would probably bust a button on the vest he would be wearing. After 233 years of on again and off again complacency, We the People are finally roused from our stupor. Okay, so we’re loud, obnoxious, and annoying. We’re Americans. That’s the way we are. If you don’t like it, find a better place to live, I dare you!
First, I oppose Barack Obama. Yes, I have turned myself into email@example.com. If you oppose Obama, I suggest you do the same thing. We’re all in this together.
I don’t know about you, but I’m having fun.
I am enjoying the moment.
Do you realize that finally, at last, after all this time, the Silent Majority of We the People has found a voice?
Are people going to simply go back to their old ways, fade into the woodwork, and shut-up once again?
The greatest irony of them all is the promise of the Baby Boomers may finally be full-filled as our activist “gene” is activated once again.
PLEASE NOTE: The Pink Flamingo is one of the late blooming Baby Boomers, so DO NOT think she is anywhere near as old as the rest of her “generation”. When Richie, Joanie, and Chachi were cruising around Milwaukee, The Pink Flamingo was still just a little kid.
Of course only the first “Baby Boomers” are senior citizens so it is the group of people born during the Great Depression, the very real consumers, users, etc. who are doing the protesting. It’s a good thing. They need to do something besides sling back martinis.
Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi created this current problem with their arrogance. There are some who suspect Obama will come up with some sort of anti-sedition thing to silence us. Been there and done that, didn’t work, but then Barack Obama’s real problem, besides his unfailing arrogance is the fact that he knows nothing about our history.
The thing is, Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s Frankenstein Monster is awake. Their little ACORN and SEIU friends are gathering around the city center with pitchforks and torches, determined to hunt it down and destroy it.
They will fail.
The loudest mouths and most nimble fingers of those protesting Health Care Reform belong to the Baby Boomers. We are the generation of Woodstock, peace protests, riots, Kent State, Watergate, and Make Love Not War. Most of my generation has been lulled into a sense of false security brought about by 20 years of Reagan Bush Bush.
The sleeping elephant is waking up and is a little cranky.
Deal with it.
We’re here and we’re not going away (I hope).
I don’t think Obama is going to be able to pull off his plans for this country, if indeed he has any, or as I am beginning to suspect, he’s making up as he goes along. El Presidente’ in all his fast incompetence is abjectly ignorant when it comes to American history and the American people. We’re not a Rice-Paddy Culture where we bow to who ever wants to walk all over us. This is the country of Don’t Tread on Me!
Come to think about it, Barack Obama is a success. He has caused the Silent Majority to open their big fat mouths.
Good for him.
P. S. If you are a Democrat, you might not want to meet my 79 year old mother (the one with the pacemaker who can barely walk after falling a month ago) at a Town Hall. She’d beat the you know what out of you with her mouth. And – you would hang your head in shame!
