(Or – How Barack Obama has destroyed any chance Sarah Palin has of being POTUS).
The Pink Flamingo is on record is having been one of Sarah Palin’s original supporters. The following is NOT a discussion about her qualifications. As a former Governor she is far more qualified than Barack Obama to lead. It is called executive experience. She is conservative enough. She is appealing enough. She is like-able. She is “everyman”, pardon the gender bias.
Unfortunately – though – there is one single glaring reason why she will not get the 2012 nomination (I do hope I am wrong). There are many discussions about her winning the GOP Nomination. In the current climate of far right over-kill, right now I am wondering if any Republican will be left standing when the likes of Beck, Malkin, Ingraham, and Limbaugh get finished with them. We are watching as the far right slaughters the chances of one highly qualified leader after another. Their actions are irrational, vile, and will ultimately lead to the destruction of this country as we know it today.
This is not a discussion of those problems.
This is a discussion of the one fact that Sarah Palin’s opponents will use against her – and will resonate deeply within “Middle America”.
Barack Obama is the most inept and most inexperienced POTUS this nation has ever known. The farther along we get into his Presidency, the more obvious his incompetence and inexperience is harming not only him, but the country. His inexperience will be his downfall. If we are not careful it will bring our country to the knees.
The Pink Flamingo does not think the American People are going to be willing to give yet another “inexperienced” candidate a fair shake. Barack Obama, in his own bumbling way, has managed to destroy any hope Sarah Palin has of ever seccuring the GOP Nomination let alone be elected POTUS.
It is all rather interesting. The Far Right & Tea Party “Patriots?” are trying to push a mantra of ridding Washington of all elected officials and start all over again. The Pink Flamingo believes the American People will ultimately reject this strategy the way Doug Hoffman was rejected in NY-23. The entire process could back-fire on the minions of the Far Right. With luck, their nasty little populist movement will be doomed. Unfortunately they could destroy the careers of many good elected Republican officials in the process, condemning this nation to Nancy Pelosi for Life.
Right now, we are currently hearing that Dems are so dispirited they are not planning to vote in 2010. This will change, but it brings up a rather fascinating observtion made by Larry Sabato. Those who support either the Far Right or Far Left are fair weather voters. If they are unhappy with the way things are going, or do not like the candidates they just stay home and do not vote.
Those of us who are considered “not pure” by either side, slightly conservative or slightly liberal, or – God forbid – moderate – are the ones who go out to vote, constantly. That should say something about the nature of political extremes. If this is true, and Sarah Palin’s support appears to come more from the Far Right, those who are “normal” Republicans are not going to be inclined to give yet another “inexperienced” candidate a chance.
And s0, Barack Obama will destroy any POTUS hopes Sarah Palin might have. It is ironic. Then again, the American People do love their political irony.
