“…“When we talk about fighting for our country, let’s clear the air right now about what we’re talking about. …We’re not inciting violence. Don’t get sucked into the lame-stream media lies.”…” Sarah Palin
HENRY WAXMAN TERRORIZING BUSINESS
“….These announcements are the tip of the iceberg; hundreds like them will follow as Obamacare becomes a reality. Congressional Democrats, evidently stung by the bad publicity, are trying to strike back….Good post on the true cost of ObamaCare. But it gets better: the Dems are now shaking down CEOs who don’t get with the program. In the attached letter, Henry Waxman not only orders the CEOs of AT&T, Caterpillar, Deere & Co, and Verizon to testify before the Energy and Commerce Committee, but also to produce internal analyses and emails related to their statements. They don’t expressly subpoena the CEOs, so we can hope that they tell the Dems to GFY, though somehow I doubt that will happen….”
More from the WSJ:
“…Meanwhile, Henry Waxman and House Democrats announced yesterday that they will haul these companies in for an April 21 hearing because their judgment “appears to conflict with independent analyses, which show that the new law will expand coverage and bring down costs.”…The Democratic political calculation with ObamaCare is the proverbial boiling frog: Gradually introduce a health-care entitlement by hiding the true costs, hook the middle class on new subsidies until they become unrepealable, but try to delay the adverse consequences and major new tax hikes so voters don’t make the connection between their policy and the economic wreckage. But their bill was such a shoddy, jerry-rigged piece of work that the damage is coming sooner than even some critics expected….”
Golly, I guess Lindsey is right:
“…Graham is angry with Obama over the health care fracas. In uncharacteristically harsh terms, the senator decried the “sleazy” political tactics and “despicable” parliamentary maneuvers he accused Obama and allied Democratic leaders of having used to push the landmark measure through Congress.
“The consequences of passing the bill this way will be with us for a very long time,” Graham said. “The president has lost his moral authority to lead this nation to make hard decisions. He has become a partisan politician in the worst way.”…”
We have a problem.
Bill Smith is already counting the jobs that have already been lost thanks to Ocare. I think he has the answer to why these peope are getting so nasty.
The Waxman threat is chilling, terrifying. It is absolute power out of control. The face of absolute power is Nero, Caligula, Tiberius, King John, Henry VIII, Oliver Cromwell, and a whole bunch of petty Roman emperors. This is what the new face of the DNC is.
When you get people with absolute power with no checks and balances that absolute power corrupts absolutely. We are currently living in one of those strange times where absolute power has totally corrupted the DNC. Only someone who has completely lost their perspective on life and the way things work would even consider doing what Henry Waxman is doing.
It’s time to pull the plug on these people.
FOLLOW THE BOUNCING BALL
This is one of those posts The Pink Flamingo has been working on for several days, allowing it to evolve. It has become apparent that that there is a plan afoot to denigrate anyone on the Republican side. It is planned. They are taking a hit and they know it. So, in the classic Chicago Style so they hit back to destroy.
The truth is not on their side. How about this little ditty:
“…An email arrived in my inbox this afternoon from Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan’s baby-brother, Congressman Russ Carnahan (D-Missouri). In this email, Carnahan pledges to not be intimidated by Coffingate, and then asks me for money. This email may be the most despicable yet of the campaign season. After a brutal 48 hours of press retractions about an incident regarding a coffin placed near his house, Carnahan is attempting to hustle money for intimidation that did not occur….”
This is not about socialism.
It is about political ambition.
Is there any other way to put it.
Perhaps the reason we have not been able pin down what Obama is – the real reason – is because he is so completely disturbed. His Narcissism has no bounds. When a person cannot be criticizized, when they lash out, they have a problem.
There are some conserativatives who like to compare Obama’s approach as socialist, marxist, or fasist. He is none of these things. He is nothing but the Squire of Gothos, a spoiled, immature, petulant child who will lash out and destroy anyone who rebukes him.
SCREAMING WOLF ABOUT ATTACKS
The Dems are now screaming wolf about being attacked, harassed, and they are blaming anyone who disagrees with them. Their current target is the Tea Party bunch. The Pink Flamingo has made my feelings known about the tea parties, but enough is enough. Sorry, but we’re not talking a bunch of out of control haters here.
Like James Tarento wrote:
“…One sign that ObamaCare is both bad and unpopular is that since its enactment–indeed, since just before its enactment–its supporters have been laboring mightily to change the subject. They’re eager to talk not about their great legislative and social achievement, but about how violent, racist and all-around crazy ObamaCare opponents are. On the whole, this is a false narrative. As we noted yesterday, an effort to prove the “all-around crazy” part employed one of the shoddiest, most tendentious opinion polls we’ve ever seen….”
So, like what Colbert I. King wrote in his disgusting column,…
“…Hence, an explanation for the familiarity of faces: today’s Tea Party adherents are George Wallace legacies. They, like Wallace’s followers, smolder with anger. They fear they are being driven from their rightful place in America….”
King needs to get out and see the reality of things:
From Founding Bloggers:
“…Supporters of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid staged a counter-protest today in Searchlight, Nevada, the Senator’s hometown. Reid supporters gathered just down the road from the launching point of the Tea Party Express tour, and when Breitbart happened upon them, he was met with threats of violence. At least one protester threw an egg at Brietbart, missing him. Eggs were also thrown at the Tea Party Express bus. To add insult to insult, Reid supporters called the police to report that Breitbart had provoked an incident….”
THE SCAM TO SLAM BROWN
Are we dealing with Tea Party “Patriots” or Dems who are pretending to be Tea Party Patriots.
“…Host Greg Hill asked the Wrentham Republican to respond to Democrats’ criticism that he’s “insignificant” and GOP fears that his election killed their fight against President Obama’s health care overhaul. “That’s good. Let them keep thinking like that. That’s what they thought last time and here I am doing the people’s business,” said Brown. “They can try to, you know, twist and manipulate and, you know, destroy the message and destroy as much as they want but the bottom line is people are very angry.”…”
The Scott Brown win in Mass. should be a road map and a primer on how to win states and districts for the GOP. Unfortunately, we are dealing with an extreme far right that is completely irrational. So, today, the Far Right has buyer’s remorse. Those idiotic, uneducated (politically) Tea Party masses are ticked – or is something else afoot?
“…“We start to wonder whether we helped a RINO (Republican in name only) get into office,” said Tea Party activist Jeffrey McQueen, who traveled from Michigan to campaign for Brown in the final days of the Jan. 19 special election that rocked the nation….”
In fact, what is being revealed is the way the Dems are pushing the Tea Party “patriots” – or pretending to be Tea Party “Patriots”. It is sorta like a Pink Flamingo I Told You So.
“…Brown’s senior adviser, Eric Fehrnstrom, countered that the senator has been a stalwart voice against the Democratic initiative. “Sen. Brown has made it clear, every way he knows how, that he is opposed to Obamacare and the higher taxes and increased spending it entails,” Fehrnstrom said. Brown declined to comment. Bill Whalen, a former Republican operative and research fellow at the conservative Hoover Institution, likened Brown to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, calling both a “political novelty.” “The luster has worn off,” Whalen said, adding that Brown staked his campaign on health care and many Republicans don’t know where he stands on other issues. Boston University political expert Thomas Whalen predicts U.S. Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-South Boston) is already gearing up to challenge Brown in 2012. “His election was supposed to spell the death knell of health-care reform,” Whalen said. “If anything, it pushed the president to redouble his efforts. (Brown) seems far less of a player than he was a couple months ago.”…”
THE REAL MIME HERE
There is a real problem here, and for once we’re not talking about the Tea Party bunch. It is quite obvious we are dealing with a planned effort to demoralize Republicans. We’re hearing how the Dems are not going to lose big in November. We’re hearing that GOP protests about Ocare are counterproductive and will backfire. Sounds like those are the Dem talking points.
FYI – the other mime is how the tea party people are putting Dems in the House at risk. Something just isn’t quite kosher here. Someone is protesting way too much.
THE OTHER MIME?
The other mime is that the GOP is seriously damaged. David Frum wrote:
“…There were leaders who knew better, who would have liked to deal. But they were trapped. Conservative talkers on Fox and talk radio had whipped the Republican voting base into such a frenzy that deal-making was rendered impossible. How do you negotiate with somebody who wants to murder your grandmother? Or – more exactly – with somebody whom your voters have been persuaded to believe wants to murder their grandmother?
I’ve been on a soapbox for months now about the harm that our overheated talk is doing to us. Yes it mobilizes supporters – but by mobilizing them with hysterical accusations and pseudo-information, overheated talk has made it impossible for representatives to represent and elected leaders to lead. The real leaders are on TV and radio, and they have very different imperatives from people in government. Talk radio thrives on confrontation and recrimination. When Rush Limbaugh said that he wanted President Obama to fail, he was intelligently explaining his own interests. What he omitted to say – but what is equally true – is that he also wants Republicans to fail. If Republicans succeed – if they govern successfully in office and negotiate attractive compromises out of office – Rush’s listeners get less angry. And if they are less angry, they listen to the radio less, and hear fewer ads for Sleepnumber beds….”
The whole trash-talking the GOP is upset, discourage, and to denigrate to the point where the currently furious GOP voter is so discouraged we will just stay home.
