Did you know that if indeed Rob Krantz were murdered by an illegal, he would be the only American citizen in the Tucson Border Patrol region in a decade?
“…Congressional members, including Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., and John Shadegg, R-Ariz., sent President Barack Obama a letter asking that National Guard soldiers be sent to the border because “violence in the vicinity of the U.S. Mexico border continues to increase at an alarming rate….”
According to the stats, if you were to factor out the drug on drug violence, Arizona’s crime stats would be WAY DOWN. The spat of criminal activity in Phoenix and Tucson is drug on drug based and “normal” people are rarely trageted. In fact, there are even questions about the much hyped shooting of Deputy Louie Puroll.
What if Governor Jan Brewer and far right anti-Hispanic extremist Russell Pierce knew that there has been NO actual rise in crime in Arizona in 10 years, but kept lying about it. What if Fox News kept lying about it? What if Michelle Malkin kept lying about it? What if FAIR, Dan Stein, Mark Kirkorian, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Rush Limbaugh all had the statistics about crime in Arizona but did not correct their factually incorrect rhetoric?
“…Clarence Dupnik, the sheriff of Pima County, said there always has been crime associated with smuggling in southern Arizona, but today’s rhetoric does not seem to jibe with reality.
“This is a media-created event,” Dupnik said. “I hear politicians on TV saying the border has gotten worse. Well, the fact of the matter is that the border has never been more secure.”
Even Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever, among the most strident critics of federal enforcement, concedes that notions of cartel mayhem are exaggerated. “We’re not seeing the multiple killings, beheadings and shootouts that are going on on the other side,” he said.
In fact, according to the Border Patrol, Krentz is the only American murdered by a suspected illegal immigrant in at least a decade within the agency’s Tucson sector, the busiest smuggling route among the Border Patrol’s nine coverage regions along the U.S.-Mexican border.
Still, Dever said, the slaying proved useful to southern Arizonans who are sick of smugglers and immigrants tramping through their lands.
“The interest just elevated. And we keep the pressure on because next week something else is going to happen, and the window of opportunity will close,” Dever said.
Cochise County’s crime rate has been “flat” for at least 10 years, the sheriff added. Even in 2000, when record numbers of undocumented immigrants were detained in the area, just 4 percent of the area’s violent crimes were committed by illegal aliens….”
From information coming out of Cochise County the past day or two suggests that the person who killed Rob Krantz was NOT an illegal.
“…The killing of a Southern Arizona rancher that sparked an outcry to secure the border was not random, and investigators are focusing on a suspect in the United States, the Arizona Daily Star has learned. High-ranking government officials with credible information spoke to the Star, citing a desire to quell the fury over illegal immigration and drug smuggling set off by the shooting death of longtime rancher Robert Krentz on March 27. They said Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever is investigating a person in the United States, not in Mexico, in connection with the shooting.
The Star’s policy is not to use unnamed sources except in instances in which the information is of high public interest….”
Not long after the tragic murder of Cochise County rancher, Rob Krantz, The Pink Flamingo told a friend that if I were writing this as a murder mystery, the killer would not be an illegal, and that it would be a drug hit.
Well, after all the hatred spewed at illegal immigrants, the absurd AZ law authored by FAIR, and the possibility of Jan Brewer’s single-handed destruction of the GOP, it now appears that there is a suspect in the horrible murder, and that the person is NOT an illegal, and that the murder was about drugs.
From the AZ Central:
“…The Arizona Daily Star is quoting an unnamed source as saying that Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever is investigating someone in United States — not in Mexico — as a suspect in the murder of rancher Rob Krentz.
The Star, quoting “high ranking government officials”, also says the murder was not random.
Krentz’s murder has fueled outrage over our porous border and likely played a part in the passage of Senate Bill 1070. From day one, everyone has assumed that the murderer was a drug runner, in part because of a garbled radio call from Krentz that mentioned “illegal alien,” in part because law enforcement said they tracked his killer’s footprints 20 miles to the Mexican border.
Even Dever has said that Krentz “was senselessly gunned down on his own property” and that “his murderer was tracked to the Mexican border, and has since evaded capture.”
“We cannot sit by while our citizens are terrorized, robbed and murdered by ruthless and desperate people who enter our country illegally,” he told a congressional committee last month.
Of course, if today’s Star report is true, the killer still could be a drug runner. (We know they cross over at will.) But it also could be that the person wasn’t here illegally in the first place…”
The story gets even dirtier. What if Jan Brewer and Russell Pierce knew that the person beign tracked was NOT an illegal and it was NOT about immigration but DRUG RUNNING and went ahead with the new draconian laws?
“…Did the Republican governor of Arizona knowingly use a murder that had nothing to do with random Mexican border violence at all to propagate the passage of a state law criminalizing illegal immigration? Did her Democrat opponent, the Arizona Attorney General, also allow that bad information to fester? Perhaps. Follow me for a moment; and please keep in mind that the governor is about to face off against her own attorney general for the governor’s seat. And the A.G. is ahead in the polls….The question now becomes whether Arizona state officials knew the sheriff’s deputies were looking for someone in the U.S., someone who had a motive to kill Krentz. But if these government officials knew and presented enough evidence to convince the newspaper that it was true, then it is safe to assume state officials also knew. And if state officials knew Krentz’s murder had nothing to do with illegal immigration, at least in the sense of rabid burreros randomly killing Americans, then Brewer also had to have known. And so did her Attorney General. Who is also running for governor….”
