Did you know that only Hispanics are dangerous racists? That is the lie currently being promoted by the far right. They absolutely refuse to acknowledge the racist mote in their own eye. Take Patrick J. Buchanan, please. (NOTE: The Pink Flamingo does not like linking to World Nut Daily. I will list the URL and you go find it.
“…Indeed, of the last seven justices nominated by Democrats JFK, LBJ, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, one was black, Marshall; one was Puerto Rican, Sonia Sotomayor. The other five were Jews: Arthur Goldberg, Abe Fortas, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan.
If Kagan is confirmed, Jews, who represent less than 2 percent of the U.S. population, will have 33 percent of the Supreme Court seats.
Is this the Democrats’ idea of diversity?…”
The far right has many lies about Hispanics. One current mime is that Hispanics approve of the AZ ethnic profiling bill. This is NOT true. Want to destroy the GOP?
“…The poll shows that 89 percent of Latinos believe illegal immigration is a serious problem, but that 73 percent think that police crackdowns on undocumented immigrants unfairly target their ethnic group. The bill has prompted several members of Congress to push for the passage of comprehensive immigration reform. Eighty-six percent of respondents said they favor a legal path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants already in the U.S. Democrats have used the law to rail against Republicans, saying they are out of touch with Latinos and are at risk of losing their support completely. Eighty-four percent think that the law will result in police in Arizona stopping and questioning legal immigrants or U.S. citizens.
A separate poll, conducted by the labor union SEIU and the National Council of La Raza and released Friday, showed the potential political consequences of the law. Eighty-one percent of Arizona Latino registered voters oppose the bill. The poll was taken May 7-12 and is based on phone interviews, on both landline and cell phones, with 901 Latino adults….”
Selwyn Duke has one of the most repulsive anti-Hispanic prevarications of bigotry I have ever had the misfortune of reading. It insidious, exhibiting this strange new hate that is oozing through the conservative world these past few weeks.
“…So not all immigration is created equal, and Mexican immigration is unique. For it is not just the migration of individuals — it is the transplantation of a foreign nation into the body of our own. This is just one reason (recently naturalized Times Square bomber types are another) I’ve long advocated at least a moratorium on all immigration. The people make the country and government, not the other way around. Thus, a debate about immigration policy is nothing less than a discussion about what kind of nation we wish to be. Will it be Mexico North? Iran West? Right now we’re looking more like the Balkans. …”
What has started this racism against people from Mexico? Are people like Duke so ignorant about the Hispanic culture that they see a group of people who are Christian, anti-abortion, Catholic, conservative, family oriented, and matriarchal as something bad?
“…Forty-five percent of the Hispanics polled nationwide blamed Republicans while 49 percent blamed either Democrats or the president. But while Hispanics have an issue with both parties, the poll shows that Republicans face more potential short-term problems with Hispanic voters if they continue to support Arizona’s recently passed immigration law. Seventy-three percent of Hispanics believe it would be a “very serious problem if the police in Arizona wound up stopping and questioning Hispanics” and 33 percent said they would be “very likely” to vote against a candidate or party that took a position on immigration with which they disagreed….”
One of the things that annoy me the most by “so called” Reagan “conservatives” is their abject refusal to acknowledge that the may be a tad bigoted about Mexicans. I have watched, over a period of a decade, as it has become a “them” v “us” mentality. It is absurd, foolish, disgusting, and ultimately damaging to our country. I have the writings of conservatives as they warn us of the Brown Menace that will eventually destroy the nation.
“…Another misconception about NCLR is the allegation that we support a “Reconquista,” or the right of Mexico to reclaim land in the southwestern United States. NCLR has not made and does not make any such claim; indeed, such a claim is so far outside of the mainstream of the Latino community that we find it incredible that our critics raise it as an issue. NCLR has never supported and does not endorse the notion of a “Reconquista” or “Aztlán.” Similarly, NCLR’s critics falsely claim that the statement “Por La Raza todo, Fuera de La Raza nada,” [“For the community everything, outside the community nothing”] is NCLR’s motto. NCLR unequivocally rejects this statement, which is not and has never been the motto of any Latino organization….”
If all Hispanics were as communist as FOX News likes to hype, we would be in serious trouble. From where I sit writing this, in the very center of what you consider to be enemy territory – New Mexico – I’m not seeing it. The average Hispanic I know is church going, very conservative, and extremely patriotic. They are just as much American as are you or I.
The Far Right is obsessing over a bunch of liberal college kids and professors. Of course they are liberal. So is my niece, who still worships Obama. That is the nature of the beast. They will grow up, get jobs, pay taxes and become just as conservative as their parents – if conservatives don’t alienate them to the point where they do something stupid.
This insane fear of Hispanics is just plain absurd. It is self-defeating. It is ignorant. It makes conservatives look just as bad as liberals do wish they would look. The writing of the far left academia Hispanic “intellectual” is no different than someone who is African American and extremely liberal. They aren’t much different that the rantings my niece inflicted upon me – and her professors were Georgetown white.
There is no great conspiracy to sent this part of the US back to Mexico. Get over your hatred of all things Hispanic and maybe open your mind and use a little rational logic. We all know we are dealing with the stupidity of the intellectual Hispanic academic left.
Life is good. We are not doomed, not if we stop listening to the voice or bigoted doom and start realizing that the Hispanic sitting next to you is not a terrorist, not a drug runner, probably not illegal, and isn’t trying to destroy the country. You might want to ask if they have anyone in their family serving in our military in harm’s way. Odds are they do. Thank them for their patriotism and service to their country and offer to pray for their loved one who is fighting for our freedom.
It isn’t hard at all.
It’s called freedom, honor, and decency. It’s what Ronald Reagan would have done.
The problem with this whole anti-Hispanic spew is the fact that it is masking the real problem we are facing. We are facing the growth of Islam. These people want to destroy us. They hate Israel. So, why is the far right going after primarily Catholic, CHRISTIAN Mexicans?

“…These days, Islam doesn’t even have to show up. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has quietly pulled representations of Mohammed from its Islamic collection.
With the Danish cartoons, violent mobs actually had to kill large numbers of people before Kurt Westegaard was sent into involuntary “retirement.” Even with “South Park,” the thugs still had to threaten murder. But the Metropolitan Museum caved pre-emptively – no murders, no threats but best to crawl into a fetal position, anyway.
Last week, the American Association of Pediatricians noted that certain, ahem, “immigrant communities” were shipping their daughters overseas to undergo “female genital mutilation.” So, in a spirit of multicultural compromise, they decided to amend their previous opposition to the practice: They’re not (for the moment) advocating full-scale clitoridectomies, but they are suggesting federal and state laws be changed to permit them to give a “ritual nick” to young girls.
A few years back, I thought even fainthearted Western liberals might draw the line at “FGM.” After all, it’s a key pillar of institutional misogyny in Islam: Its entire purpose is to deny women sexual pleasure.
True, many of us hapless Western men find we deny women sexual pleasure without even trying, but we don’t demand genital mutilation to guarantee it. On such slender distinctions does civilization rest….”
