The far right has a problem. William F. Buckley is dead. His voice of rational logic, wisdom, and reason is gone. When he was alive, people like Rush Limbaugh would never ever embrace movements that reeked of John Bircher or Ron Paul Bot. It would never happen. He was a pure Neo-Con.
Today though, Neo-Cons are to be denigrated. They are to be slammed, destroyed, and pushed out of office. They aren’t pure. They aren’t conservative enough. People like Rush Limbaugh, who once claimed to worship at the altar of Reagan and Buckley are suffering from what may be terminal amnesia. Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, and half the minions at National Review have degenerated into pathetic little clones of Patrick J. Buchanan. One of these days I’m going to hear that Rush has completely renounced the War on Terror and is demanding we pull our forces out of the War and desert Israel. It’s coming.
RUSH SHOULD STOP LYING ABOUT LINDSEY
He’s becoming just like all the other little Ron Paul Bot losertarians, slamming our Republicans and lying about them. He’s not told the truth about Lindsey for years. He’s now on this idiotic “ruling class” thing for some irrational reason.
“……We don’t need a third party, but we’re effectively gonna make it one. We’re still gonna be the Republican Party. The current GOP establishment does not want to be known as a Conservative Party ’cause conservatives are laughed at, made fun of, and thought of as hicks and hayseeds by the ruling class Democrats. The ruling class Republicans are happy to be losers as long as the ruling class Democrats will let ‘em into the ruling class. Their entree into the ruling class in Washington is as losers. Oh, they’ll get the White House every four years now and then, but at the end of the day they are losers, and they’re happy.
Lindsey Graham’s perfectly happy to be in the ruling class as a loser. He was elected as a freshman in 1994 of the House? He was in that freshman class and he was one of the House managers in the Clinton impeachment. And that’s what did it, the treatment that the House managers got on that impeachment of Clinton, that’s why he’s gone 180 and become effectively a bootlicking liberal Republican. …”
I don’t know where he is getting this “ruling class” obsession, but it is counter to traditional Republican Principles. It is also such a crock. He is constantly slamming Lindsey as a “country club” Republican and adoring himself as one of the “regulars” when just the opposite is true. I don’t know anyone more “country club” than Rush Limbaugh. Lindsey grew up over a pool hall and bar.
Perhaps Rush Limbaugh should stop lying about Lindsey Graham and our other Republicans. He’s only hurting himself.
THE CRINGE FACTOR
I don’t know about you, but I have a tendency to vote for people with whom I am comfortable. I suspect that is why The Pink Flamingo never votes for Democrats. I’m not all that comfortable around them, even in real life. Perhaps it’s a values thing. Maybe there is something more intangible. Perhaps like water, we seek our own level?
Take Steve Pearce. He is a nice guy, a decent man who is just as comfortable sitting down at Starbucks, discussing Christ and prayer! Steve is a decent, solid individual who knows who he is and what he is about. He has a set of values. I like the fact that the man served our country, heroically.
I want to vote for someone I can sit down with and have a normal, rational discussion, the way Lindsey did at one of my rare New Year’s Eve parties, sitting at my grandfather Reidhead’s old desk, shelling peanuts, taking about his plans with a group of mutual friends.
People like Christine O’Donnell are high maintainance. I gave up even trying to deal with people like her about a decade ago. Life is too short to put up with their hyper-emotional stress. You watch her and cringe. There is this instinct that she is simply not ready for prime time.
The same thing holds true with Renee Ellmers. What a mess! Once in awhile, in years where you can’t get a decent candidate in a district where the Dems have a lock, you get people like her. Everyone and Rush Limbaugh are furious because the NRCC is not helping her in her hour of need.
“…This poor woman in North Carolina, Renee Ellmers, a congressional race in North Carolina, they found a bunch of ballots. This Etheridge guy was on the ropes, the RNC is not going in to help her because she’s Tea Party, that race might flip to Democrat. The RNC’s not going in to help her because she’s Tea Party. Renee Ellmers in North Carolina against Bob Etheridge, the incumbent Democrat, she was ahead and now of course they found some ballots after the election somehow and they’re all gonna go to Etheridge, and the RNC, the Republican campaign committee is nowhere near there to help her. It’s just frustrating, it’s maddening. But more than that, it’s disappointing.
...RUSH: She’s Tea Party. Ellmers also says that the GOP NRCC refused to help her with her campaign. In fact, their spokesman told the press that the campaign wasn’t ready for primetime. Her campaign didn’t deserve their help because she wasn’t ready for primetime which made it even harder for her to raise money in the first place. She said all this in an e-mail to supporters….”
Perhaps Rush should tell the truth about this story. The RNC is helping Ellmers. Everyone is in a snit because of Dan Riehl’s terribly misleading post. Ellmers is crying about money, which is strange because she raised a heck of a lot more than her Bob Etheridge – as of October 20.”…As the midterm campaigns turn toward the home stretch, Republican challenger Renee Ellmers is out raising incumbent U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge in North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional District.
“...Etheridge’s campaign maintains a big lead in contributions for the election cycle, reporting $1.16 million to Ellmers’ $452,000. It also has a huge advantage in cash on hand, $448,788 to Ellmers’ $99,461.
But in the three months ended Sept. 30, Ellmers’ campaign raised $264,000 to Etheridge’s $250,000. Given the advantages of incumbency, Ellmers said, that edge is a measure of voters’ unhappiness with the way business is done in Washington….The news release doesn’t mention another kind of campaign spending that could help Ellmers: Her campaign has benefited from $365,000 in attack ads against Etheridge paid for by two independent groups that don’t have to identify the sources of their money.
The groups, Americans for Job Security and the 60 Plus Association, are widely believed to get funding from conservative business interests….”
The Politico reported:
“...In a Wednesday morning interview, NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions acknowledged to POLITICO that the committee was behind the video.
“Bobby Etheridge struggled once he got into trouble. Sometimes you can have problems and recover,” said Sessions. “He never recovered, and that’s what you want when you’re on our side of the ball.”
Yet even as the NRCC flooded districts across the country with money for television attack ads targeting Democrats, it didn’t spend a dime in independent expenditure funds against Etheridge.
“We have advised all candidates facing a possible recount to start a recount fund and to prepare for an extensive legal process,” said NRCC spokesman Jon Thompson. “Our staff and counsel have offered to assist these campaigns in any way possible.”…”
Is it possible Ellmers is one of those irrational candidates who can’t get their story straight. Do we really want people like this in office?
“…Ellmers wrote that she faces legal costs of at least $50,000, and that with her campaign resources drained, she appealed to the NRCC for financial assistance but was turned down.
“Yesterday, we appealed to the National Republican Congressional Committee for support, asking if they could contribute to help pay the costs of this recount. Their answer, unfortunately, was, no — that we would have to raise the money to pay for the recount ourselves,” she wrote. “I was afraid that would be their answer.”
Ellmers wrote that during her general election campaign, she traveled to Washington to meet with conservative groups ranging from the Susan B. Anthony’s List to FreedomWorks to Concerned Women for America, and that they provided her with financial assistance.
But the NRCC, she said, “declined.”
“I am doubtful we will get support from the NRCC to help with the expense of the recount,” Ellmers wrote…”
I thought these tea party patriots were running for office so they could save the nation by cutting spending. Looks like they can’t control their own campaign purse strings and must scream for political welfare. The far right, who has been pandering to them, must slander and denigrate good Republicans who don’t take political welfare in order to legitimize these people.
These people make me cringe.
Maybe that’s why a few of them lost. Maybe they deserved to lose.
Looks to me like she’s nothing more than a Political Welfare Queen.
Getting back to the Cringe Factor, do you like people who are constantly begging for money? It looks like some of the new tea party class of politicians are in a perpetual hunt for money. It is unrealistic to even think that a politician can exist without having to pander for money. But, our tea party patriots are turning it into such a hand-out demand that they are distasteful.
Nah, I wouldn’t hang out with a lot of people who tea party. Fact is, I don’t know any. I never did hang out with hippie types. I never did. I was just too Republican and conservative even when it was not in style!

Sounds like the Tea Party patriots have turned into the Tea Party panhandlers. Panhandlers lie and can get pretty creative. Last week I was approached by one after church. When I asked her why she needed the money she said that someone had put a voodoo curse on her and she needed five dollars to get it off. (And I thought I had heard it all) Maybe like Christine O’Donnell the Tea Partiers think they’ve been hoodooed.
