I would give up my vote in a HEARTBEAT if it meant that right-ordered marriage, family and sexuality was restored to our culture.”  Ann Barnhardt

The Pink Flamingo has a simple question.  How did the vile video that Ann Barnhardt, who barely had much of a track record aside from the usual lame brain libertarian sites, suddenly go viral.  It doesn’t make much sense unless someone was behind the video pushing it.  The viral email promoting the video are all pro Ron Paul Bot losertarians.  Now THAT makes sense.  Ron Paul Bots, as we all know, truly detest Lindsey.

In the state of Colorado, according to an exclusive Pink Flamingo source, most Republicans will have nothing to do with her.  She is supported though, by some libertarians.  That figures.

The Pink Flamingo has also heard that there are some other things afoot.  Let’s just say there’s always a nasty little libertarian slant when anything is done to attempt to harm Lindsey.

Ann Barnhardt thinks that Lindsey Graham is going to violate her right to burn a Koran with bacon.  She has created a viral video that all the lovely libertarians are using it to promote their “Christian” hatred of Lindsey.  She waxes poetic about Lindsey wanting to violate the Bill of Rights.

But….

She would be willing to give up a woman’s right to vote. She would shed the Constitution and relegate women in America to second class citizens with as many rights as women in Islam have.

This is a truly disturbed woman who had no right to denigrate an honorable man like Lindsey when she had the gall to write this sort of dribble.  I think when it comes to her hatred of Islam, Ms. Barnhardt protests too much.  She obviously thinks the way women are treated in Saudi Arabia must be the right thing for this country.

“...Here’s the deal. Up until women’s suffrage, a man was the head of his marriage and his household, and his vote represented not just himself but his entire family, including his wife and his children. When men voted, they were conscious of the fact that they were voting not just for themselves and their own personal interests, but they were also charged with the responsibility of discerning and making the ultimate decision about what was in the best interests of their entire family. Wow. Isn’t that nuts? Men being . . . responsible?…As soon as the 19th amendment was passed, men were effectively castrated, and in many, many cases disenfranchised by their wives. No longer was the man the head of the household. No longer was he responsible for his wife. Now the wife was a “co-husband” at best, or a flat-out adversary at worst. The notion of a man making the final decision about what was best for his wife and family per his God-given vocation as husband and father was now over. Now all he was good for was bringing home the bacon – but even that wouldn’t last….Next, the issue of disenfranchisement. I believe that the 19th amendment actually DISenfranchised more people than it enfranchised. Many, many married couples quickly found themselves voting against one another. The man would tend to vote for the more conservative platform, and the woman would vote for the more socialist platform. When this happened, the effective result was the nullification of BOTH individuals’ votes. What this did was massively reduce the voting influence of the married household, and magnify the voting influence of the unmarried – and the unmarried tend to be younger, and thus more stupid, and thus vote for big government. It was all part of the plan, kids. All part of the plan….”

There is a bitter irony here.

The woman would do anything possible to destroy Lindsey because he violates the First Amendment, but thinks it is acceptable for women to give up their right to vote to return to a more traditional society.

The woman who hates Islam would figuratively put American women back into the “good old days” and into a figurative burka where men would take care of us.

You gotta love these people and their abject ignorance.

Any woman who would willingly admit to giving up OUR right to vote in order to go back to the good old days, is certifiable.  She’s also terribly ignorant when it comes to the history of our country.  She is also an insult to  my Grandmother Reidhead, Aunt Mabel, Aunt Birdie, and my Great-Grandmother Perkins.  They were all Suffragettes, and among the very first women to vote in the state of Minnesota.

Hate is a funny thing.  The more you hate, the more it consumes you.  The more it consumes you, the more irrational you become.  When you hate, you lose the ability to think clearly and logically.  Ms. Barnhardt truly hates Muslims.  Funny thing, in writing this she automatically gives victory in the War on Terror to hard core Islam.

“...Former President George W. Bush and former first lady Laura Bush said in separate interviews with Greta van Susteren on Fox News Thursday that the plight of Afghan women should be at the forefront as the U.S. tries to untangle itself from the Afghan war.

Both were speaking as part of the second annual conference of the U.S.-Afghan Women’s Council, a public-private partnership set up by President Bush and President Hamid Karzai in 2002 to help Afghan women.

While the former first lady framed her argument mostly in the language of global economic development, arguing that “economies can’t succeed unless all people can be involved,” the former president framed his argument more in terms of a neoconservative foreign policy.

“My concern of course is that the United States gets weary of being in Afghanistan and says, ‘It’s not worth it, let’s leave’ and Laura and I believe that if that were to happen, women would suffer again,” he told van Susteren. “And we don’t believe that’s in the interest of the United States or the world to create a safe haven for terrorists and stand by and watch women’s rights be abused.”

He later added that part of the mission of the George W. Bush Institute, which was hosting the conference in Dallas, “is to remind people that isolationism will end up subjecting certain people to horrors that I don’t see how our country can live with that kind of decision.”…”

By depriving American women of our Constitutional Rights, she automatically hands victory to the enemy.

“...I’ve probably ticked even one or two of you conservatives off with this post. Here is the question I would ask you: Why? Why are you ticked off? If you’re a woman, the reason you are ticked off is because you put yourself and your desire to assert your will above the well-being of society in general. I don’t feel that way. I would give up my vote in a HEARTBEAT if it meant that right-ordered marriage, family and sexuality was restored to our culture. I would rather that my little namesake, Rozlyn Aynn, grow up in a world where she did not have the right to vote, but was treated with dignity and respect, was addressed as “ma’am”, had doors held for her, and wherein men stood up when she entered the room. I would rather she be courted properly and then marry a man who would never, ever leave her, and would consider it his sacred duty and honor to protect and provide for her and their children because he LOVED them. Oh, HELL yes. I’ll give up my vote in exchange for that any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Why wouldn’t you?…”

The Pink Flamingo has a problem with people who claim to be Christians but spew nothing but vitriol and hate.  I also have a problemAnn Barnhardt, the woman who hates Lindsey Graham, but claims to be a Christian would be willing to give up her right to vote to preserve our nation.  Ms Barnhardt apparently does not like Islam.  Ms. Barnhardt is a strange duck, to put it mildly.

This is from her site Bud Williams Marketing:

Bud Williams Marketing

The Pink Flamingo thinks this is a nice job if you can get it.  Coming from a background where my grandfather was a big time dairyman, I don’t know anyone who is involved in cattle who would willingly shell out six hundred bucks on something like this.

Bud Williams Marketing

This is what she promotes:

Bud Williams Marketing

The Pink Flamingo has a number of friends who are either in the cattle industry or are related to those who are.  I lucked into a call to a friend who just happened to be eating dinner with her large, extended ranching family.  She put my call on speaker, while I read the above.  It was met with hoots and laughter.  Not one person had heard of the company.  Her mother had heard of Bud Williams, but thinks she has heard something really weird about him.  They were laughing at the schedule for this seminar, considering it something that no REAL RANCHER or anyone involved in ACTUALLY RAISING CATTLE would be involved in, or would attend.

Ann Barnhardt is a very strange person.  She “claims” to be a Christian.  I’m not sure about that.  We’re told not to judge, but I’ve not seen such hate spewing from an alleged Christian in a long time.  She’s really good at denigrating anyone she does not like.  She claims to be a good Catholic.  The Catholic women I know would never ever surrender their right to vote.

Ann Barnhardt, the new she who must be adored by libertarians and Ron Paul Bots the world over has a problem with Islam.  Several years ago she wrote a comment to an article I did for Blogcritics.  I was criticizing Ron Paul because of his nasty white supremacist associates.  Up pops Ann Barnhardt with this choice bit of paranoia. This woman is a bit over the topShe is paranoid.  She is a birther.  She is scary!

Blogcritics

She is a little bit scary, to say the least.  The best part is the fact that the lies in her chain email have been debunked, repeatedly.

The Conservative Tree House

Mikeb303000

She put a series of anti-Obama billboards up, once upon a time.  This is the comment she made when criticized in a local paper.

Junction City Forum

More on her billboard.  I don’t think we want this person as a “pop-culture” hero.

Pitch Blog

She claims to be a Christian.  She wrote this:

“…She blogs steadily and and has just taken up Twitter. A memorable blog post from Sunday night considers a pastor’s mockery of Lindsay Lohan in a church service. In it, Barnhardt relates the story of the Roman centurion who mocked Christ and concludes, that “we all need to be careful who we laugh at” because the hard-living starlet is like “Mary Magdalene ten seconds before she crossed paths with Jesus.”…”

Alan Scherstuhi, the author of the above piece, included the email sent to him by Barnhardt.

This is a recent post she made.

The Last Refuge

Why is The Pink Flamingo ripping into such a pathetic creature as Ann Barnhardt.  It’s quite simple. Ms. Barnhardt wrote the following on March 15.

“…What is a friend? There are many, many ways to define friendship. One universally applicable definition leaps into my mind today, March 15th. A friend could be defined as someone who will help you when you are in need of help. Furthermore, a friend is someone who not only WILL help, but WANTS to help. A friend WANTS to be burdened. A friend WANTS to be inconvenienced. A friend WANTS to be bothered and put-upon. Not only that, but if a suffering person does NOT reveal their suffering to their friend, the friend will actually feel rejected and hurt for not being entrusted, nay GIFTED, with the opportunity to share in the suffering. This is where we get the word “compassion”. “Com” means “with”. “Passion” means “suffer”. Friends want to suffer with their friends. As we go through life and we choose our friends, are we not subconsciously saying to ourselves, “Yes, THIS is a person whom I would want to share my sufferings with – and I would want to share in theirs.” We make this determination based upon our perception of the moral character and interior goodness of the individual. The finer the character of the person, the deeper their goodness and the stronger their faith, the more “co-suffering” they will be able to bear with us, and thus the less likely they will be to abandon us in our times of need. And selfish though it may seem, every human being is, at the end of it all, trying desperately to avoid finding themselves abandoned…”

What is a friend?

Well, Lindsey Graham is my friend.

He is a decent, honorable and patriotic man who does not this irrational and hate filled diatribe that spews from the lips of a seriously disturbed individual.

She is doing her best to destroy one of the great leaders, one of the few real statesmen we have.  She claims to be a Christian.  I don’t know.  I am sure she is quite sincere about her alleged faith, but as a Christian, I’m more into love, not hate.  I’m more into the Fruit of the Spirit,

Faithfulness
Self-Control
Patience
Goodness
Gentleness
Joy
Kindness
Peace
Love

rather than spewing hatred and destruction.  I do know that Lindsey is a Christian.  I know what he believes.  I know, personally, that he is a man of honor.  He loves this country and would never ever do anything to harm it.

I don’t know much about Ms Barnhardt other than she offers a set price on trading.  She could be doing all of this to create business for herself.  It wouldn’t surprise me.  When someone has a track record of sending out viral email that contains terrible misinformation (including leaving it on an article I wrote for Blogcritics) I am not surprised at what she would do.

She put up a billboard at Fort Riley, basically advocating our soldiers commit treason and thumb their nose at their Commander in Chief.  The Pink Flamingo rather considers what she is advocating to be closely akin to treason.

“...In addition, I fully support all actions and defenses of members of the US Military who are seeking to certify that Obama is, in fact, constitutionally qualified for the office of the presidency and that they are thus following legal orders and deployments, and are thus protected under the Geneva Convention….”

The Pink Flamingo is not going to say what I think of her businesses.  You be the judge.  I am going to state that she is the most ignorant individual I’ve come across lately when it comes to knowledge of American history. She knows NOTHING about it, or she would not have make her own tape where she attempts to destroy Lindsey.  Lindsey’s statement was very well grounded in American History. Unfortunately, we’re dealing with people with a libertarian streak who know NOTHING about who we are.  They think they know the Constitution, but when ignorant women spout that they would willingly give up their right to vote, then that woman has NO RIGHT to lecture Lindsey Graham about the United States Constitution.

Jawa Report

The best commentary I have seen about Koran Burning comes from the Jawa Report.  We don’t do things to diss our allies. Contrary to the hatred of Ms. Burnhardt, there are plenty of Muslims who are our friends.

Speaking of which, The Pink Flamingo has very dear friends who are Muslim.  I have been praying for them, for their souls, since Richard Nixon was in office.  If you think I am going to go along with people who want to insult MY FRIENDS, insult their religion, out of hatred, you are out of your mind.   My Muslim friends would not more insult my faith than I would theirs.  We came to know one another through the outreach of a church I once attended.  They went to church with me. My dear friend (and adopted sister) would never ever ever insult my faith.  I care too much about she and her family to insult them.

I dare anyone like Ms Barnhardt who is so filled with irrational hatred of Islam that she will do anything to insult the faith to try insulting my friends.  People like Ms Barnhardt are so self-centered, so ignorant, and so selfish that they don’t understand their “Freedom of Speech” is putting the lives of American soldiers in danger.  All that matters is WHAT THEY WANT, not in keeping our people safe.  All that matters is their irrational hatred of a religion, no matter if they insult our allies.

Funny thing about Hatred.  Ms. Barnhardt has a strange view of our men and women in uniform, openly challenging them to rebel against their Commander in Chief.  She doesn’t mind advocating a practice that will get our brave men and women killed.  She claims to be a patriot, but advocates eliminating MY right to vote and taking away the rights that make women the equal of men.

She doesn’t mind destroying a man like Lindsey Graham.  Lindsey is a patriot who has literally put his life on the line in the service of our country.  He is the most outspoken advocate in Congress for our men and women in uniform.  He is the most outspoken advocate to continue the War on Terror against Islamic terror.

Has anyone bothered to ask Ms Barnhardt what she believes when it comes to fighting a War on Terror?  She can’t believe much of anything or she never would have done what she has done to my friend.

Maybe she wants to discuss why she is against the 19th Amendment?

I must agree with Lindsey Graham. We are at war and we should not do anything to endanger our troops in the war zone. I was disturbed by the videos because of some of the recent developments in my family. It was hard to comprehend that a little Terry Jones copycat would willingly put people’s lives in danger in order to achieve some notoriety and publicity. Her descent into self-destructive madness reminds me of Medea in the Greek Play by Euripedes. It was also disturbing to discover how many people from the far right have been praising her, not only defending her actions, but joining in on the denigration of Lindsey. So far she hasn’t gotten the attention she was hoping for. Lindsey would never consider any of our brave men and women expendable. My great nephew is over there now. Just before the videos came out, my cousin’s daughter, who is a pilot in the Air Force and who just finished a tour of duty in Pakistan, called home and said, “Mama, I’m going to Iraq and I don’t know how long I’m going to be over there.” I don’t know what brand of Catholicism Barnhardt adheres to, but holding a rosary and a machine gun with the same hand offends me. She defiles the rosary along with the Koran. When we catholics pray the rosary, we believe the blood of Jesus will fall on the person for whom we offer it. We are supposed to love our enemies. Jesus is very clear about that. I prayed a decade of the rosary at mass this morning especially for Lindsey. Derision and ridicule are emotionally upsetting and hard to bear, but when we are tried in that particular way we must try to rejoice that we share in Jesus’s sufferings when he was crowned with thorns. Something else also comes to mind. Barhardt’s virulent hatred of Lindsey reminds me of some passages in Wisdom 2:12- Where some people responded to the just in their midst. They couldn’t measure up and in their envy they sought to rid themselves of the reminder of their failure. God will take care of Lindsey.

The Pink Flamingo mentioned something in this post which I would like to emphasize. We don’t diss our allies and insult our friends and many Muslims are our friends. I will be forever grateful to the people of Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates for their generosity in contributing large cash donations to us after Katrina. People of all faiths came to help restore the beloved, historical St Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, where some of my ancestors were married. The church has since become a symbol of unity, survival and strength. To those seeking the fullness of life in Jesus it would be well to remember that it increases a Christian’s stature to acknowledge the holiness of people of other religions.

I’ve posted about Ann a few times times, including here and here. The last time I accompanied my criticism with an e-mail asking her the classic question for all racists and bigots. “How can you hate all of Islam for the actions of a few?” Here’s her response in its entirety.

“I’ll continue to pray for you, as I have been for quite some time now.

    Ann”

I found your work when I was researching the piece. You are one of the few who has delved into her background, at all. She rather reminds me of the Mathers in New England during the Puritan days. My “patron” great great (whatever) Grandmother, Hannah Dustin, was captured and raped during a raid on Haverhill, MA in the mid 1600s. When she made her way home, Cotton Mather refused to allow her to join a church because she was tainted by rape. He did, though, continue to pray for her. I have a copy of the letter she wrote to a local Congregational church, asking if she could be allowed to attend. It is heartbreaking.

    Thank you for your comment.

You are a conservative from the US? Are you sure, you sound far too sane to be a US conservative to me.

I found your post while trying to figure out this whackjob Ann Barnhardt. She’s one of those defenders of the Constitution who need to bone up on just what it is they are defending (this includes the oath keepers). I suggest they start with Article III, Section iii.

Perhaps, Ms. Barnhardt should practise what she preaches and shut up and make babies. The problem is they would be as dim as she is.
