Why can’t we be allowed to opt out of all these government benefits like Medicare and Social Security? I would love to be able to keep my insurance and NOT be forced to become dependent on the government. Sure, I know I’m going to be required to pay my “fair share”, but why must it be mandatory?
This is our whole problem.
I’ve argued this point for years.
I will give it up – I will forgo all of it.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve never planned on Social Security being there for me. I’ve lived my life knowing it was a pyramid scheme and a scam. You will never know the heated discussions I’ve had with my parents over the years.
I was shocked when my father turned 65 and had to do Medicare. It was 20 years ago. I’ve asked, repeatedly, “How can you do this?”
It isn’t right.
It is about getting Seniors dependent on the government. When any changes are mentioned, my 81 year old mother goes into something of a panic. Over the years they have been taxed to the point where it is wrong. If you look at it that way, and the amount they’ve paid in for taxes, then bring it on.
Still, though, why can’t we have the option of saying, sure, we’ll keep on paying into the scam, but let us live our own lives and go our own way?
I want an option.
I refuse to become dependent upon the government when I turn 65. Then again, turning 65 is such a crock. Why can’t they raise the retirement age to 70?
I don’t want to be forced into a group. I want to do this on my own. And I don’t want some idiot Democrat saying I don’t know what I want.
Just let me opt out and have the right to purchase my own heath insurance and not be dependent on Medicare or Social Security. As a little bonus, once I reach that “golden age”, give me a tax break on what I earn from age 70 on.
I’ll take the deal.
I really don’t know many people who wouldn’t.
It is so simple and so logical, no one will even consider it. Just don’t expect logic from the Feds.
You don’t need to take Medicare away from Seniors today. You don’t need to monkey with their Social Security. Just give those of us who aren’t 65 the option of doing something different. Heck, give those who are over 65 and want to do something different the option of doing so.
