UPDATED: I have found more recent stats Gardasil
During Monday night’s CNN tea party debate, Michele Bachmann once again proved how she is not part of reality. She doesn’t want those poor innocent 12 year old girls faced with the reality of being vaccinated for an STD and HPV – human papilloma virus.
“...Michele Bachmann accused him of endangering the lives of “innocent little 12-year-old girls” by issuing an executive order — later overturned by the Texas legislature — requiring young women to receive inoculations against a virus that can lead to cervical cancer. “I’m offended for all the little girls and parents who didn’t have a choice,” Bachmann said….”
If I had a daughter, you’re darn right she’s be vaccinated for it.
It would not be because I would suspect her of being sexually active. NOTE to Bachmann, unfortunately 12 year old girls are sexually active today. It is a horrible commentary on our society, but it is increasingly common.
Bachmann was upset over the side effects. Once again, Bachmann proves how out of touch with reality she actually is.
“...Gardasil is a 3-dose (injection) vaccine. As of 1 September 2009 there have been more than 26 million doses distributed in the United States, and there have been 15,037 Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) reports following the vaccination. Ninety-two percent were reports of events considered to be non-serious (e.g., fainting, pain and swelling at the injection site (arm), headache, nausea and fever), and 8 percent were considered to be serious (death, permanent disability, life-threatening illness and hospitalization). There is no proven causal link between the vaccine and serious adverse effects; all reports are related by time only. That is, they are only related because the effect happened some time after the vaccination. As of 1 September 2009, there have been 44 U.S. reports of death among females who have received the vaccine. None of the 27 confirmed deaths of women and girls who had taken the vaccine were linked to the vaccine. Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), a rare disorder that causes muscle weakness, has been reported after vaccination with Gardasil. There is no evidence suggesting that Gardasil causes or raises the risk of GBS. Additionally, there have been rare reports of blood clots forming in the heart, lungs and legs….”
Yes, I would want my innocent 12 year old daughter vaccinated. Michele Bachmann is so removed from the realities of life that she obviously either does not know or probably does not care that 1 in every 5 girls under the age of 21 will be either raped or molested.
I would hope if I had a 12 year old daughter she would not be fooling around like a 12 year old whore. But, I know the realities of life. This day and age a 12 year old girl has a 20% chance of being sexually assault by either rape or molestation. I would want my child protected from what could be, later in her life, a deadly form of cervical cancer.
Innocent women can be infected with the human papilloma virus by no actual immoral cause of their own. I knew of a woman who died of cervical cancer. We later discovered her husband fooled around on her on a regular basis, and gave her the virus.
There are realities in this life, just like having the morning after pill available. You’re darn right I’d give it to my daughter. I find the self-righteous pandering of well-meaning alleged “Christians” when it comes to rape and the morning after pill to be vile and inhuman.
Bachmann is concerned about the side-effects of the vaccine.
“…On Fox News, Bachmann said a woman had come up to her crying after the debate, claiming her daughter had become mentally retarded after being administered the vaccine.
“You’ve got to get it right the first time, and I have a core sense of conviction on these issues, and I would have never due that to innocent little girls,” Bachmann said on CNN minutes after the debate concluded.
The federal Centers of Disease Control has studied potential complications effects from the vaccine and determined that the vast majority of adverse effects are non-serious. …”
There are reports of side effects, but the numbers are so small, that it makes you wonder if this is just more of the usual anti-vaccine hype. Current information simply does not confirm the hysteria against the vaccine. Then again, Sparkles never met a fact she didn’t twist for her own benefit.
As for her comment about the vaccine leading to mental retardation, I can find no record of such a case. If you look at the statistics, the vaccine is tremendously safe.
