The Mitt Haters Will Fall in Line?

Jennifer Ruben does not live in the real world.  She lives a very strange Mitt Romney fantasy world, rather like the one Peggy Noonan entered when she fell out of love with George W. Bush and in lust with Barack Obama.  What Ruben doesn’t understand is that there are people out in fly-over country who have real brains and we know how to use them.  We don’t like being fed a menu of papa-cow excrement. I for one, will not be intimidated into voting for someone I no longer respect.

What does it tell you about FOX News, especially Cavuto, when they are constantly propping up Ron Paul?

On Tuesday’s Wolf Blitzer, I caught some of his interview with Newt.  My 87 year old father, who is in early Alzheimer’s was lived over Romney.  He’s also furious about Ron Paul.  “In World War II we fought and died to stop Hitler.  If Ron Paul thinks we should not have fought him, he doesn’t need to be in Congress, let alone running for President.”

He then caught the post interview commentary, where some bimbo pundit was saying that Newt has hurt himself by standing up to Ron Paul.  My father was so mad.  I was in the kitchen with my mother and sister, who was visiting.  He made me come back to the bedroom, where he and Sadie were reading a cowboy book and rooting through his Nieman Marcus popcorn tin.  “If speaking up and criticizing someone like Ron Paul, who would have allowed Hitler to have his way in Europe, is wrong, then there is something wrong with our country!”

“…Gingrich’s fencing with Mitt Romney seems like an afternoon at a gentleman’s club compared with his slams on Paul. “As people get to know more about Ron Paul, who disowns 10 years of his own newsletter, says he didn’t really realize what was in it, had no idea what he was making money off of, had no idea that it was racist, anti-Semitic, called for the destruction of Israel, talked about a race war – all of this is a sudden shock to Ron Paul?” he asked. “There will come a morning people won’t take him as a serious person.”

Right now in Iowa, the week before the state’s Jan. 3 caucuses, Paul is a very serious person – in the top tier along with Gingrich and Romney and playing aggressively to win. “If Dr. Paul will have to soldier on without Newt’s vote, then so be it,” Paul campaign manager Jesse Benton said in a statement. He called Gingrich “a divisive, big-government liberal who is unelectable” and his attack on Paul a “childish outburst.”…”

To The Pink Flamingo, this is the LAST straw.  I guess Mitt never learned the lesson that America doesn’t like an ungracious winner.  Mitt Romney has made snide, slimy remarks about Newt’s personal life, bragging about his perfect family to the point where he is coming across as a big jerk.

“...Mitt Romney‘s press secretary, Andrea Saul, says Newt Gingrich is a “desperate candidate” who’s “flailing right now.” Saul’s remarks follow the former speaker’s move to frame Romney as a politician with a far-from-conservative record.

“Can we trust a Massachusetts moderate to invoke a conservative agenda?” asked Gingrich’s communications director, Joe DeSantis, in a campaign email sent Monday night.

“Speaker Gingrich is a desperate candidate trying to revive his failing campaign,” responded Saul on MSNBC’s Jansing & Co. “You know — If you want to talk about someone who’s an unreliable conservative, Speaker Gingrich sat down on a couch with Nancy Pelosi at the behest of Al Gore to talk about global warming and support cap and trade.”…”
