The Great Man Emerges, Again

If you raise taxes, you’re taking money out of the pockets of consumers.”

The Great Man has surfaced once again.  Just watching him makes me feel sad – for myself and our country, for what we’ve lost, and may not have again.

The Great Man talks about principles.  He has them.  He has honor.  He is a Christian who puts into practice what he believes.  His Pink Ribbon-Red Ribbon Partnership is incredible.  He believes women will lead the democracy movement in the Middle East.

According to our former POTUS, 70% of all new jobs are created by small business owners, not large corporations.

This is a man who cares more about the country than his own personal ego.  This is about a man who uses self deprecating humor, which shows his utter lack of arrogance.  He refuses to undermine Obama, a seated POTUS.  He is one class act.

“…“I have decided to stay out of the limelight,” Bush said. “I don’t think it’s good, frankly, for our country to undermine the president and I don’t intend to do so. But I do intend to remain involved in areas that I’m interested in.”…”

I think Allahpundit’s remarks are snotty and nasty.  Then again, they reflect much of the anti-Bush far right.

“...Tina blogged about this earlier but I figured you’d want to see the clip, partly for the curiosity of Dubya dipping a toe back into national policy and partly because you’ll be seeing this clip again later this year when the Democrats start their attack ads over letting the Bush tax cuts lapse. It’ll be an interesting test of the state of the Bush brand when they do. Is he still toxic enough to move the polls against Republicans if the DNC makes him the face of the pro-cuts argument (note his comment here about why they’re called the “Bush” tax cuts) or has he recovered enough of his reputation that his endorsement for extending the cuts won’t matter? I can think of at least one person who’s keenly interested in the answer to that question….”

I have another reason to absolutely adore these people.  They’re real, normal, animal loving push-overs who even rescue stray cats, just like The Pink Flamingo!
