Conservatives and The Edge of Reason

I wish I knew what was going on with the majority of conservatives these days.  They appear to be on a crack up, not only with reason and logic, but their own minds.  They have reached the point where their behavior is now no longer eccentric, it is down right self-destructive.  I swear some need to be committed to Bedlam for their own self-protection!

They’re crazy, just plain old bat shit crazy.  I don’t know any other way to describe the fact that the nominee apparent is hanging out with the Richest Birther of them all.  Now, months ago, when conservatives still maintained a tenuous hold on their sanity, the rational among them rightly decried The Donald’s Birtherism.  Not any more.  As long as he is with Mitt, he’s A-okay!

Is there any remaining sanity?

The more I think about the Brett Kimberlin story, the more I am convinced the right is very, very wrong about this.  Kimberlin, has, according to the information I can find, paid his debt to society.  He is, or was, a very bad person who destroyed lives.  But – he served his time.  I have a problem with people hounding someone who has served their time, unless they are a pedophile.  The man has been out of prison for quite awhile, and, apparently, has committed no other crime other than being a liberal, and having a liberal political organization funded by George Soros. I gather that alone should get him the death penalty.

There’s nothing wrong with writing an expose about someone, but, as reporters and writers have known since we’ve been writing, you write the piece, and  you’d better be prepared to pay the price when it goes south.  The man has a right to try and do something for the betterment of society.  I suspect, if this person were a good conservative, working for Americans for Prosperity, and taking Koch money, we’d be hearing what a jolly good chap he is.

Some of these same people who are perhaps rightly outraged about Kimberlin, don’t mind wallowing in the mire with the likes of John Tanton, Peter Brimelow (who has an identical brother who was the head of the National Socialist Party), Jared Taylor, and The Council of Conservative Citizens.  They don’t mind hanging out with the same people who hang out with people from Stormfront.  Michelle Malkin’s columns still appear on Vdare, owned by Peter Brimelow, who has an identical twin brother who was the leading National Socialist in the country.  Why not renounce her?  Why not renounce R.S. McCain, who has a record of associating with white supremacists?  What about all of these same people blogging against Kimberline, but don’t mind John Tanton – or Sheriff Joe?

The Pink Flamingo wonders if this same group, led by Michelle Malkin, will bother protesting one of The Daily Caller’s columnists who is a known white supremacist and is viciously trying to destroy Lindsey Graham.  Oh wait, Malkin is of like mindset.  I guess not.  I gather you can be a vicious and nasty as you want, as long as you are part of the select.

To say this is jaw-dropping is simply an under statement.  There are some good Christian individuals out there who now declare if you vote for a Democrat and die before admitting your sins, you will go to hell.

“…The Bible does say that if a person votes for a democrat (the promoters and supporters of sin) and were to die without repenting of that, he or she is going to hell.

I think this is an important message for blacks and hispanics who think they are Christians and who don’t want to offend God but who vote lock step for democrats….Romans 1:32, “Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things* deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” And one way we approve is by how we vote. (* “such things” are in the rest of Romans 1:18-31 – e.g. homosexuality, lesbianism, strife, deceit, slander [political sound bites], gossips, idol worshippers, God-haters, atheists – all primarily attributes of liberals.)…”

I’m not all that into theology, but I periodically go to church, when I wake up in time.  I do though, have a working familiarity with the Ten Big Ones.  Making sure that I was reading them correctly, I went back for a quick refresher course.

“...The Ten Commandments, also known as the Decalogue, are a set of biblical principles relating to ethics and worship, which play a fundamental role in Judaism and most forms of Christianity. They include instructions to worship only God and to keep the Sabbath, and prohibitions against idolatry, blasphemy, murder, theft, and adultery. Different groups follow slightly different traditions for interpreting and numbering them.

The Ten Commandments appear twice in the Hebrew Bible, in the books of Exodus and Deuteronomy. According to the story in Exodus, God inscribed them on two stone tablets, which he gave to Moses on Mount Sinai. Modern scholarship has found likely influences in Hittite and Mesopotamian laws and treaties, but is divided over exactly when the Ten Commandments were written and who wrote them…”

Obviously, voting for a Democrat is not a sin.  Neither is being an A$# H%le.  If so, I suspect  the author of this insanity, would be starting to feel a little toasty right about now.

I am the LORD thy God
Thou shalt have no other gods
No graven images or likenesses
Not take the LORD’s name in vain
Remember the sabbath day
Honour thy father and thy mother
Thou shalt not kill
Thou shalt not commit adultery
Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not bear false witness
Thou shalt not covet

Nope, nothing about Thou Shalt Not Vote for a Democrat!

What about Ayn Rand?

I think this is the last straw that broke my camel’s back.  When and where does this stop?

  • Democrats are not evil.
  • Republicans are not evil.
  • Barack Obama is not evil – incompetent, lazy, but not evil.
  • Michelle Obama is not evil.
  • Mitt Romney is not evil – jerk, liberal, and a fake, but not evil.
  • Nancy Pelosi is not evil.
  • Harry Reid is not evil.
  • Mormons are not evil.
  • Neither are we Episcopalians.

Then there is the conservative war on feminists.  It is getting way over the top, vile and disgusting.

And, then there is the Elizabeth Warren cook book debacle.

And – we must kill all the gays.

“...The pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca, Kansas says President Barack Obama has gone too far in supporting same sex marriage and it’s time for the U.S. government to begin killing gay men and lesbians.

“Terrorists are dangerous, the economy is a real and present danger,” Pastor Curtis Knapp told his congregation on Sunday. “But there is simply nothing other than the holocaust of the unborn which imperils the safety of our country or places our people in jeopardy as does the leader of the Western world publicly raising his fist at the heavens and declaring that the bedrock institution of society, ordained of God and meant to be protected by the state, is little more than a convention of convenience with the children of Sodom to transform the meaning of something, which is precious to Jesus Christ, and a living picture of his love for the church into a legally protected justification for perversion and a vehicle of hatred aimed directly at that love.”…”

Is there any possible way this insanity can be stopped before the GOP is DOA?  Just look at Michelle Malkin’s latest attack on Michelle Obama.  Now, when the Dems go after Ann Romney for being just at total “blond”, watch for the conservative world to cry huge crocodile tears and complain.  But, attacks on Michelle Obama are just fine.

Michelle Malkin

The Pink Flamingo tries to be intellectually honest.  I don’t mind admitting that Michelle Obama has evolved into an iconic First Lady.  If Obama gets a second term, she will surpass Jackie.  Sure, I think she spends too much, but she is not an embarrassment to the US.  Ann Romney, on the other hand, is rather like watching the fake gilt and plastic swans of the nouveau riche.

  1. If being an iconic first lady means dressing in designer clothes, throwing lavish parties and going on extravagant vacations, then yes, Michelle Obama will surpass Jackie. As a first lady, Michelle has no qualms about wasting taxpayers’ money. When it costs over $100,000.00 an hour to fly a presidential plane so that she can start her vacation a few hours earlier, it is sending the wrong message to Americans who don’t make $25,000.00 a year and can’t find jobs. She also spent over 10 million dollars in taxpayers’ money on her vacations to Spain and Africa where she took her entire family. The Obamas love to criticize the billionaires while at the same time they are taking us to the cleaners. In my opinion, any first lady will have a hard time holding a candle to Laura Bush. She didn’t always wear designer clothes, she didn’t live a lavish life style and she wasn’t pretentious at all.

  2. No one will ever be Laura Bush. By “Iconic” I am talking about “Style”. In many ways, Lady Bird may have done more to truly better the US, with her flowers, highway clean-up, and getting rid of the trash, than just about any other First Lady. No one even thinks about her.

  3. If you are talking about style you may have a point. I really have not seen enough of Mrs. Romney to form an opinion. When women dress lavishly just to get people to gawk at them, I usually don’t pay much attention.
