Mitt’s Big Middle East Misadventure

On Sunday, in Israel, Mitt Romney proved himself to be one of history’s great whores.  He is in Israel, prostituting himself for Sheldon Adelson’s campaign cash.  He also declared Israel to be a ‘start-up’ nation.  He is tampering with US foreign policy, and making the usual ass of himself.  Ass is an appropriate term for Mitt Romney.  He is nothing but a democrat in an elephant mascot suit.

If The Pink Flamingo lived in Israel, I think I would grow to absolutely detest the American right, American conservatives, and the GOP.  I think I would want to tell the American “Christian” right to go to hell.  What right to WE have to tamper with their country.  Aside from Mitt Romney, we leave the UK alone.  We leave Canada alone.  We don’t tell Brazil, Japan, Germany, or China what to do, so why the heck do “Christian” Dominionists in this country think they have a right to meddle in Israel’s affairs.

We don’t.

The only reason the above meddle is because of religion.  Sorry, but that’s no excuse.  The people who live in Israel have a right to do what they want to do, without our interference, foreign and military aid not withstanding.  They are a critical ally in the Middle East.  That is reason enough to support Israel.

The Daily Beast

In doing so, he insults the Jewish religion.

The Atlantic

Oh, wait, he’s not done insulting the Brits, either.

“...Nobody in Jerusalem is going to be stoning and booing Romney on his way to or from the King David. While he’s there, he will probably shake hands or even hug a billionaire under investigation for allegedly bribing Chinese officials in Macau by both the State of Nevada and the U.S. Justice Department, and a smarmy thug who was part of an espionage ring that stole nuclear devices and other nuclear bomb materials from the United States late in the last century…”

He has demeaned himself, and the US.  He has put Israel in a position of power, proving that he is nothing but a pandering, little whore who will do anything for a vote, including selling out the US.

Think Progress

“...In a March speech before a pro-Israel lobby in Washington, Obama warned of “loose talk of war” that serves only to drive up oil prices. “Now is not the time to bluster,” he said then. “Now is the time to let our increased pressure sink in and sustain the broad international coalition we have built.”

It was unlikely that the day’s events would settle the issue.

Obama’s former press secretary, Robert Gibbs, told ABC’s “This Week” that the administration has delayed Iran’s nuclear program. The president has imposed U.S. penalties against Iran and worked to tougher strictures applied by other nations. There have been numerous published reports of a coordinated U.S.-Israeli cyberattack that caused damage to Iranian equipment vital to creating weapons-grade nuclear material.

Even so, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said before the speech that “all the sanctions and diplomacy so far have not set back the Iranian program by one iota.”

Whatever the reality, the administration has taken steps in recent days to reassure Israel of its support.

Most notably, Obama approved an increase in assistance to strengthen a missile defense system that is designed to protect Israel from rocket attacks launched from the Gaza.

Senor’s comments caused a stir in the hours leading to Romney’s speech, a reminder of the controversy that Romney had created a few days earlier in London.

He later clarified his comments in a written statement, saying that the candidate “believes we should employ any and all measures to dissuade the Iranian regime from its nuclear course and it is his fervent hope that diplomatic and economic measures will do so. In the final analysis, of course, no option should be excluded.”

Pentagon officials have spoken publicly about the difficulty of such a strike and American officials have expressed concern about the destabilizing effect such military action could have in the region, even if carried out successfully….”

There is a very serious problem here.  It doesn’t matter if you are a Democrat or a Republican, what Mitt Romney did in Israel is WRONG. Doesn’t matter about standing up for Israel.  They’re an ally.

Four years ago, The Pink Flamingo was absolutely furious when Barack Obama went to Europe and grandstanded to prove his foreign policy experience.  I don’t know anyone on the right who wasn’t furious.  He was dissing GWB.

Mitt Romney is doing the same thing, only it appears that he is doing the usual tone-deaf Romney arrogant brain dead approach.  He is worse.  What is even worse than that is the fact that, so far, he is getting a pass from the conservative leaning press.  Rush Limbaugh will praise him tomorrow.  So will the FOX crowd. Every talking head will say he is wonderful – supporting the Biblical Israel.

This isn’t about the Biblical Israel.  This is about a grandstanding politician violating tradition, dissing the seated POTUS while out of the country.  I don’t care if the candidate is a Democrat or a Republican.  It made me mad when Dems did it.  It makes me mad when a Republican does it.

What makes me even angrier is the fact that the conservative press who rightfully criticized Barack Obama for what he did, are going to praise Mitt Romney.

What he said doesn’t matter.   What matters is that it was said.  It wasn’t about the US or our relationship with Israel, it was about Mitt Romney pandering for the Jewish vote here in the US.  It is about Mitt Romney prostituting himself to Sheldon Adelson for more money.  The dirty little secret about Mitt Romney’s campaign is that he has very few individual donors.  He is relying on the kindness of 17 very rich, very corrupt white guys to fund his way to the White House.  That is called prostitution.  He is being bought and sold to the highest bidder, one of the most expensive whores in history.

The Pink Flamingo has been watching this story all day Sunday, late into the evening, waiting to see if any of the usual “conservative” sources are going to condemn Mitt Romney for what he did.  This is NOT about policy, it is about behavior.  It is about not caring what he does, or who he insults.  He doesn’t give a damn about any of this.  It’s all about Mitt.
