UPDATED: Conservative Media Lies About Obama to Prop Up Romney

Contrary to the falsehoods peddled by the far right media, Barack Obama was very, very well received at Fort Bliss.  For some strange reason, the Daily Caller, Rush Limbaugh, and the usual sources decided to perpetuate yet another lie, in order to prop up Mitt Romney.  The Pink Flamingo thinks the entire thing was designed to cover up the fact that Mitt Romney made one of the worst mistakes a GOP nominee has ever made during his acceptance speech by failing to acknowledge or salute our troops.  The Pink Flamingo has been hearing that the active duty troops like Barack Obama.  When he arrived at Fort Bliss on Friday, he was EXTREMELY well received by our troops.

“…And now that their combat mission is over, he said they wouldn’t be forgotten at home.

“What I’d like to do is come around and shake all of your hands personally, to say thank you to all of you, to say thank you for a job well done,” he said. And so he shook about 140 sets of hands.

“As a soldier that means a lot because sometimes you have people where you don’t feel their connection so definitely, like I said, it’s an honor,” said soldier Jessica Joseph.

“Personally it made all my deployment and my separations from my kids very worth it.  It was a validation of everything that we do,” remarked Army Captain Violeta Sifuentes.

Mr. Obama also remembered those at home, supporting loved ones overseas.  Several military wives were in attendance, including Rebecca Rogerson “It just makes it more personal to me that the President took the time out of his schedule to come to shake our hands and to actually talk to us and you know, put a face to the soldier over there fighting,” says Rogerson….”

“…“I can simply speak for myself that I was surprised not to hear mention of the 70,000 men and women who are serving in Afghanistan, executing a mission that is profoundly important to America’s national security in a conflict that was the direct result of an attack on the United States by al Qaeda,” Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One….”

For once Jay Carney is right.  And no, giving a speech at the American Legion convention is not the same thing as even bothering to meet with or voice any support for our military.

The Pink Flamingo has reached the point where I think that the far right media, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin, FOX News, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, and any other talking head who is still supporting Mitt Romney after his speech on Thursday, and claim to support our troops and military are noting but prime examples of human excrement.  Every single duplicitous, two-faced, pandering, mendacious one of them. So far, the only exception, the only person to have the courage to come out and criticize Mitt Romney for what he did not do is Bill Krystol.

The Republican Party who nominated Mitt Romney is no longer The Pink Flamingo’s Republican Party.  On Friday morning, The Pink Flamingo heard Ron Reagan say that Mitt Romney’s GOP is NOT the GOP of his father.  Even during the height of the Vietnam War, Republicans ALWAYS supported our troops.  Yet, just 11 years after the worst terror attack on our soil, Mitt Romney’s GOP no longer supports our military.  Those who support Romney even think the invasion of Afghanistan was a mistake.  Clint Eastwood was cheered, not for supporting our troops, but for saying that the War on Terror was a mistake.

“...Three election cycles after the 2001 terrorist attacks, neither Romney nor his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan, had anything to say about terrorism or war while on their party’s biggest stage. The only one who did Thursday was actor Clint Eastwood, who won cheers for suggesting invading Afghanistan was a mistake and calling for an immediate withdrawal of troops — a line that might have earned boos and catcalls four years ago.

The Romney strategy reflects the weak public support for the Afghanistan war, fatigue over a decade of terrorism fears and the central role of the economy in the campaign. But it was still a remarkable shift in tone for a party that, even in times of peace, has used the specter of war to call for greater military spending and tough foreign policy….”

Host 2

At least Sarah Palin had the courage to come out and support our troops.  So did Barack Obama.  But, did Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, or any of their little friends?  Sarah Palin NEVER fails to support our troops.  Neither has John McCain.  Mitt Romney, on the other hand, did speak at the American Legion Convention.

LA Times

Once upon a time, the GOP nominee for President of the United States of America allegedly compared the two years young Mormons spend on missions to military service defending our country. Just that utterance alone, if said, is now terribly revealing. After his performance Thursday night, ignoring the service of our brave men and women who are serving our country, The Pink Flamingo is willing to consider the fact that this man did say such an outrageous thing.

Conservatives for Palin

Romney is a floundering candidate who has no real foreign policy – nothing, none nada. His version of foreign policy is to insult the Brits, nearly start up another war in the Middle East, and try to re-start the cold war.  His foreign policy “expert” is so out of touch he has been known to refer to Russia as the Soviet Union.

Was there a salute to our troops in Tampa, or was their only use as storm troopers protecting Big Bad Mitt from the idiots from Code Pink.  I don’t know why they bothered.  Seems like our good “Conservative” Republican delegates were about as respectful of our military and their service as Code Pink.

Shark Tank

What a difference a decade makes! It’s really bad, real bad when extreme liberals like Rachel Maddow catch what Romney did, and hold the far right talking heads accountable for their hypocrisy.

The Pink Flamingo has reached the point where I am coming to truly detest the far right media.  They have become nothing more than Liars for Mendacious Mitt. Case in point:

“…President Barack Obama was greeted with fleeting applause and extended periods of silence as he offered profuse praise to soldiers and their families during an Aug. 31 speech in Fort Bliss, Texas. His praise for the soldiers — and for his own national-security policies — won cheers from only a small proportion of the soldiers and families in the cavernous aircraft-hanger.

The audience remains quiet even when the commander-in-chief thanked the soldiers’ families, and cited the 198 deaths of their comrades in Iraq and Afghanistan….”

The Caucus

According to the Daily Caller, the Obama people pulled the feed after so long, after he had no audience participation.  That’s also, if you watch this video, a big fat lie. If so, why did the White House put this video up.  Also, if you look at the crowd, they were not disinterested in Obama.  There is nothing The Pink Flamingo dislikes more than being forced to watch an Obama speech.  I think now, though that I dislike the Human Excrement of the conservative punditry, even more.

And, no, the crowd doesn’t look all that animated.  I live about 130 miles from El Paso.  I live in the mountains at an elevation of about 7000 feet.  It was 85 degrees here, about the same time Obama was in El Paso.  It was miserable here today, hot and humid.  In El Paso, during that speech it was nearly 100 degrees and humid.  We can do well here, but the least bit of humidity and everyone loses their minds.   The last thing I want to do is defend Obama, but look at those guys in the video.  They are miserable from the heat.  Too bad the Daily Caller can’t be honest.

Sorry, about this, but listening to this speech, Obama’s foreign policy and support for the military is far closer to George W. Bush than that of Mitt Romney.  The man sounds like George W. Bush.  Romney sounds like a liberal.

There is something very very wrong with the liberal Democrat is more supportive of our military and is conducting a half way decent War on Terror, appointed an excellent Secretary of Defense in Leon Panetta,  Barack Obama, in the speech at Fort Bliss sounded like a Neo-con.  Mitt Romney’s speech in Tampa was more like George McGovern in 1972.

Weekly Standard

It is rather ironic.  I guess Mitt Romney has the best of 1972.  He wants to create a new cold war with Russia.  One of his foreign policy advisers even referred to Russia as the Soviet Union.  He is as paranoid and dishonest as Richard Nixon and treated our military as well as George McGovern’s Democrats did.

The problem is this is 2012.

Does the far right know shame?  If they had any moral honesty about them, they would take a cue from Bil Krystol and defend our military.  Instead, in order to prop up Mitt Romney, they can do nothing but lie and misrepresent. They really are nothing more than Human Excreta. They play lip service about supporting our troops and our military but it is rather obvious they are only interested in electing someone who thinks that service as a Mormon missionary is the same thing as one of our brave troops putting their life on the line to protect this country.

Any respect I still had for conservatives and the far right has been completely deleted today. Don’t talk to me about supporting our troops or about protecting our country.  It is now officially a joke.
