The latest in the atrocities that the Koch Brothers are planning on their assault against We the Little People is to monkey wrench the Electoral College. Yep, they are behind it. The GOP gets the blame for everything that is going wrong, and they should, because they’re the ones who have pimped themselves to the Kochs. Sure, other deep pockets are involved, but the Kochs are the worst of them all.
“...Republicans have to cheat to seize control of the nation because in a democratic process, their policies will never garner support from the voters, and although the latest ploy to subvert the Electoral College is just now gaining steam, it is part of ALEC’s long term strategy to appoint leaders their corporate masters demand. ALEC’s redistricting push began in late 2010 after dirty money from Karl Rove-types swept Republicans into state legislatures and governor’s mansions, and it is from those states that elected President Obama where the GOP’s coup d’état will have its greatest effect and ensure a permanent Republican president….”
I know, it sounds insane, but The Pink Flamingo is beginning to wonder if the Koch Brothers want to destroy this country?
“...Little has been written about Harry Koch. He’s the least-known member of the Koch family, which has been marching under the same laissez-faire banner for the past three generations. Harry Koch emigrated to America in 1888, settled in a North Texas railroad town and became a newspaper publisher and aggressive corporate booster. He advocated for railroad and banking interests, amassing wealth and helping big business fight organized labor and squelch reforms.
Much of the Koch brothers’ ideology can be found in Harry Koch’s newspaper editorials of nearly a century ago. Take, for instance, the Kochs’ current fight against Social Security. Harry Koch took part in a multi-year right-wing propaganda campaign to shoot down New Deal programs. Grandfather and grandsons employ eerily familiar talking points to bash government pension and welfare programs.
“No political system can possibly guarantee either a national economic security or an individual standard of living. Government can guarantee no man a job or a livelihood,” Harry Koch wrote on February 1, 1935, nine months before Charles Koch was born….”
When something nasty is going on, politically, look for them to be at the bottom of it, by the sewer, sipping out of it with silly straws. When do we get to call someone evil for what they are doing – because, their actions are evil. They are destroying the very fabric of this country.
If this is true, then this country is in deep trouble.
“...Koch Industries is the child of the violence of Buchenwald, widely regarded as one of wartime Germany’s most notorious “death camps”.
Information connecting Ilse and Koch Industries is hard to find but is a string of fragments, pieces of information that connects the American and German Kochs and this connection gives us a clear image of the sentiment behind the Tea Party and conservative American politics since the 1950s. Where is the connection between the German Koch’s and Fred Koch? Besides evidence the American Koch was related to Ilse’s family, Erich Koch (a high level Nazi official in charge of Prussia) invites Fred Koch to sell his oil in Nazi Germany when he is banned from doing business in the US. After the fall of Nazi Germany, Erich Koch and Fred expand the oil empire to the Soviet Union. Erich Koch had been in charge of Prussia for Hitler so his ties to the Soviet Union ran deep. A few years later the Soviets took Fred Koch’s oil and prosecuted Erich for war crimes – Fred Koch returned to the US, became anti-communist, and was allowed to do business in the States again.
American Fred Koch, and through association the Kochs from Germany, establish the John Birch Society in the 1950s in NY, which becomes the policy center for American conservatives. The society was built on Fred Koch’s oil money in the 1950s and can be thought of as the center of neo-conservative politics as well as the Tea Party movement. The ideologies of each are not the same – but the Tea Party fits into the neo-conservative put for colonial corporate police state as a sort of consumer citizen of the neo-conservative strategy mad as hell at the government and the legacy of liberalism, postmodernism, multiculturalism, taxes….etc.
Ilse and her husband Karl were tried by the SS before the war ended, accused of corruption. Her husband Karl Otto Koch was tried and sentenced to death in Nazi Germany. After the war, Ilse was arrested in the German American Zone, tried in front of a tribunal and sentenced, but was quickly pardoned by the American general appointed leader of the zone….”
No one seems to really care. ALEC, which is Koch powered, is behind a tremendous amount of legislation that is contrary to the benefit of We the Little People. They don’t want meat or food inspectors. They don’t want the monitors for the oil industry. They want to pay their people sub standard wages, and pollute at will. They have become so out of control wealthy that they don’t care about the ‘democratic’ process. That no longer matters. All that matters is what is good for the Kochs.
They are basically funding the climate change not existing debate – secretly.
“…Entrenched wealth-friendly policies have helped smooth the recovery even more for the super-rich. Even under President Obama, maligned by conservatives as “anti-business,” chief executives have seen their paychecks grow steadily. And as top earners’ total incomes — including wages, capital gains, and other assets — recovered, they also benefited from lower tax rates (only some of which was addressed by the recent deal to avert the so-called “fiscal cliff”). As the EPI report notes, income inequality shot up in recent decades, paused during the economic downturn, and then began growing again in the recovery. The richest 20 percent currently make eight times more than the bottom 20 percent in nearly every state….”
Case in point is the whole gun debate. Imagine The Pink Flamingo’s surprise when I discovered that they are behind it?
“...Much emphasis by gun-proliferation zealots is put on the Second Amendment’s fallacious guarantee that every American has an American-defining dog-given right to unrestricted access and possession of military-grade weapons and concealed handguns with high-capacity magazines in public places, but before 1980, only five states allowed gun owners to carry concealed weapons in public; by 2012, 44 states had laws allowing concealed weapons. Under the Reagan administration’s anti-government regulation frenzy, and coupled with the emergence of a violence-promoting NRA, American Legislative Exchange Council and funding by the un-American John Bircher Koch brothers, the push to put as many firearms on American streets as possible led to six of the 12 deadliest shootings in America’s history; all in the past five years. It is no coincidence that the vast majority of the world’s worst mass shootings in developed countries have taken place in the United States, including 65 mass shootings since Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot in 2009.
Last week during a Tucson Arizona voluntary gun buy-back event, the NRA threatened to take the police department to court to halt the destruction of unwanted firearms, and with model legislation from ALEC under the direction of the Koch brothers, it will be a recurring scene across America. After the tragic Sandy Hook school massacre, cities around the country have held community-wide voluntary gun buybacks for citizens to turn in their unwanted guns, but the NRA wants those guns back in circulation….”
They are portraying Obama as bad for business, but corporate profits are at a record high.
“…U.S. corporations’ after-tax profits have grown by 171 percent under Obama, more than under any president since World War II, and are now at their highest level relative to the size of the economy since the government began keeping records in 1947, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Profits are more than twice as high as their peak during President Ronald Reagan’s administration and more than 50 percent greater than during the late-1990s Internet boom, measured by the size of the economy….”
One of these days, David and Charles Koch are going to be required to face the consequences of their actions. Their lack of compassion for those who have less is infamous. They were behind their little GOP whores not wanting to pass Sandy relief.
“…Sons Charles G. Koch and David H. Koch run the company as well as Koch Family Foundations, one of the largest single sources of funding for conservative organizations in the United States. Organizations and think tanks supported by the foundation include Citizens for a Sound Economy, the libertarian Cato Institute, Reason Magazine, the Manhattan Institute, the Heartland Institute and the Democratic Leadership Council. David H. Koch ran for president on the Libertarian Party ticket in 1980. Author Thomas Frank wrote in ”What’s the Matter with Kansas?” that ”Koch money flowed through Triad Management Services”, an advisory service to conservative donors groups and candidates, for the 1996 Senate campaign of Sam Brownback. Other sources only hint at a connection of Koch family members and Triad….”
Until we have very real campaign finance reform and Citizen’s United is rendered unconstitutional, they are going to continue to try and remake this nation into something that benefits them, and their little friends.
“...If any American thinks for a minute that there are limits to Republican fascists’ efforts to rig elections in their favor, they are blind, because ALEC and the Republican Party are threatening more than Democratic Presidents, congressional seats, state legislatures and governors; they threaten the existence of democracy itself. Americans should be repulsed and mortified it is even possible for ALEC and Republicans to impede the will of the people in choosing their president, but that is the price Democrats pay for sitting out the 2010 midterm elections, because now they will learn the hard way that “elections have consequences” and democracy can die….”
If only half of what The Pink Flamingo is finding about the Koch Brothers, this nation is in very deep trouble. Why are they allowed to continue? Oh, wait, they can be allowed to continue, but why are people stupid enough to keep falling for their manipulative lies.
This is who and want David & Charles Koch are. There is no compassion in them. There was none in their family. Their genealogy says a heck of a lot about them, maybe all we need to know. During the era of exploration, the Dutch were among the most ruthless of all traders. If you want to know what they were really like, in Star Trek, the Farengi are based on them.
And – that’s all you need to know about the Koch Brothers.
