What if, instead of screaming about auditing the Fed, we scream about the Feds auditing the Koch Brothers and their little friends? For an encore, they want to abolish income taxes, and I would gather, abolish most government services, leaving tens of millions of little people to suffer and become their serfs.
“...Top Koch operative Kevin Gentry emailed associates after the election about “a growing belief that one of the Obama campaign’s competitive advantages was their analytical approach to almost all of their messaging” while others in Koch World have hinted at a more decentralized and below-the-radar strategy.
“They’re trying to figure out a way to benefit their causes” without becoming straw men at the same time, said a source familiar with their thinking.
They’ve blessed the formation of a new secret money non-profit group, the Association for American Innovation, POLITICO has learned. It will be run by former top AfP strategist Alan Cobb and will wage a behind-the-scenes push in state capitols for reforms consistent with the brothers’ small government, free enterprise philosophy, including possibly curbing union power and abolishing income taxes….”
The Pink Flamingo has nothing but contempt for Freedom Works, the Tea Parties, anything remotely resembling Ayn Rand, the Kochs, libertarians, and their far right racist agenda. It is racist. It is bigoted, and it is an agenda. It is not a normal agenda, of normal people, but something that the Koch Brothers have circulating in their John Birch bred blood-streams. It is the stuff that cheesy conspiracy theories are made of. Unfortunately, as we’re now beginning to discover, and The Pink Flamingo has been telling you for years, it’s true. We’re dealing with a group of men, primarily men, who are doing everything they can to cling to their bitter white power base.
You want an example of how they work? Freedom Works is now going after the Violence Against Women Act because it is unfair to
wife beaters men. Rand Paul has been demeaning Ashley Judd, who is thinking about running against Mitch McConnell. The reason he is demeaning her is because a recent study has shown that women who are constantly treated in such a fashion will, for the most part, sit down and shut up, and let men have their way. This is what it is all about. You destroy anyone standing in the way of the Koch agenda.
The Koch Agenda doesn’t even want a woman to be protected against a stalker. It’s all about evil women plotting against innocent men.
“...Julie Borowski, writing for Freedom Works (if a woman is against the VAWA it must really suck, right?), shoves the goal posts all the way to the other side of the field, lamenting, “What exactly counts as domestic violence? The newest version of the VAWA, S.47, contains very vague and broad definitions of domestic violence. A man that raises his voice at his partner, calls her an offensive name, stalks her, causes her any emotional distress, or simply just annoys her can potentially be prosecuted under the VAWA. Calling your spouse a mean name is not advised or polite, but it isn’t the same thing as violence towards her.”…”
When do followers of the Tea Parties and those who happen to believe all the sh*t piled on by the far right talking heads like Limbaugh, Medved, Ingraham, Hannity, and FOX Tabloid News wake up and smell the feces? Will they ever admit that they have been manipulated, conned, and generally turned into a joke? They are being used. They are allowing themselves to be used. The worst part is that some of those who area being manipulated are not stable enough to deal with the bad information that has been spoon fed to them. If you want an example, just look at Ted Nugent.
The Pink Flamingo has been telling you, for years, that the entire tea party movement is a joke, a sham, a shell, and a fabrication of the Kochs, FOX, and a few other like minded individuals who are interested in total control, manipulation, and money. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be the ultimate power of life and death in the universe, but most of us, who one time aspired to it, outgrew the notion when we turned three years old and discovered the universe did not revolve around us. Those who still cling to this notion are suffering from some of the worst cases of arrested development since well, Caligula and his relatives ruled the known universe. They are also big supporters and followers of Ayn Rand.
We’ve been lied to in the right. As a Republican and still have conservative values, I’m ashamed to admit that I even fell for some of this, which has been going on since the early 1990s. On the other hand, it explains exactly what has happened to the GOP.
“…The two main organizations identified in the UCSF Quarterback study are Americans for Prosperity and Freedomworks. Both groups are now “supporting the tobacco companies’ political agenda by mobilizing local Tea Party opposition to tobacco taxes and smoke-free laws.” Freedomworks and Americans for Prosperity were once a single organization called Citizens for a Sound Economy (CSE). CSE was founded in 1984 by the infamous Koch Brothers, David and Charles Koch, and received over $5.3 million from tobacco companies, mainly Philip Morris, between 1991 and 2004.In 1990, Tim Hyde, RJR Tobacco’s head of national field operations, in an eerily similar description of the Tea Party today, explained why groups like CSE were important to the tobacco industry’s fight against government regulation….The common public understanding of the origins of the Tea Party is that it is a popular grassroots uprising that began with anti-tax protests in 2009.However, the Quarterback study reveals that in 2002, the Kochs and tobacco-backed CSE designed and made public the first Tea Party Movement website under the web address www.usteaparty.com….CSE describes the U.S. Tea Party site, “In 2002, our U.S. Tea Party is a national event, hosted continuously online, and open to all Americans who feel our taxes are too high and the tax code is too complicated.” The site features a “Patriot Guest book” where supporters can write a message of support for CSE and the U.S. Tea Party movement.Sometime around September 2011, the U.S. Tea Party site was taken offline. According to the DNS registry, the web address www.usteaparty.com is currently owned by Freedomworks. …”
I don’t know about normal people, but I’m wondering if tea party patriots are starting to feel just a little bit used and manipulated. Are they capable of such introspection? Yes, The Pink Flamingo is well aware that such comments are demeaning, and ugly, but I’m tired of having these fake patriots pretend they are so-called leaders when they are nothing but bought and paid for followers.
“...The study adds that a “parallel effort” ramped up during that time based upon a strategy recommended in 1990 (PDF) by RJ Reynolds director of national field operations Tim Hyde, who wrote that moving forward the company’s focus should be on “build[ing]‘ broad coalitions around the issue-cluster of freedom, choice and privacy.” It was to be, as he described, “a national effort to change the way people think about government’s (and big business’) role in our lives.”
A similar memo in 1993 (PDF), written by Philip Morris PR representative Gary Auxier, proposed that the Coalition Against Regressive Taxation join an industry-wide effort to fight taxes across the board, with a campaign “grounded in the theme of ‘The New American Tax Revolution’ or ‘The New Boston Tea Party.’”
That “tea party” would not emerge until 2002, when CSE launched USTeaParty.com. The site is still preserved thanks to the Internet Archive’s “Wayback Machine.” But when CSE (and all the other third party groups spun off by the tobacco companies) failed to stop the Master Tobacco Settlement Agreement in the late nineties — a battle worth over $2 billion to the tobacco companies — the organization floundered and eventually split up in 2004.
The idea of a new “tea party” reemerged in 2007 when former FreedomWorks chairman Dick Armey recommended using “the Boston Tea Party” as a type of “model of grassroots pressure on an overbearing central government.” To this day, the domain that once housed CSE’s failed tea party launch is owned by FreedomWorks, according to a domain search on WhoIs.net. Armey, however, left FreedomWorks at the end of 2012, extracting an $8 million severance package after his attempt at a hostile takeover failed.
“We also know that other conservative organizations with similar goals, such as The Cato Institute, The American Enterprise Institute, Americans for Tax Reform, Washington Legal Foundation and ALEC have also received tobacco company funding, but this study does not focus on those specifically,” Fallin added.“Americans for Prosperity and FreedomWorks does continue on opposing smoking laws and tobacco taxes,” Grana concluded. “They do that through organizing appearances at rallies and other hearings on tobacco control legislation. For advocates, it’s very important to understand and know that the people who are supporters don’t set the agenda. On tobacco control, the agenda is being set on a higher level than the organizers at these groups.”…”
The methods devised by Tim Hyde are important.
The Randian billionaires are using these methods, of targeting and brainwashing young people to promote their Ayn Rand agenda. They are funding studies, chairs in universities, handing out copies of Rand’s books to students, making the nasty philosophy terribly glamorous.
In 2012, the spent something like $400 million to overthrow the government and turn it into an oligarchy. We are told that they love America.
“…“They love America enough that they’re going to do whatever they can to keep America great,” said Wyoming mutual fund pioneer Foster Friess, who attends the meetings. “I absolutely love the love that those people have for America. If you go to those seminars, they care so much about giving people opportunity and giving them the opportunity to excel.”…”
The world envisioned by Ayn Rand, and being shaped by the likes of the Brother’s Koch, is not about democracy. Ayn Rand’s capitalism is not about democracy. It is a form of reverse socialism, where the 99% of us labor and give everything so that the 1% can have everything.
If people like the Brother’s Koch were required to pay 35% income tax, with few loopholes, like every other small business person in this country, maybe they could have a little room to bitch about what is going on in this country. Because people like this are being subsidized by the rest of us, they need to shut up and put their tax money where their gold plated mouths are. Until then, they are nothing but subsidized rabble, demanding more and more free stuff from the rest of us.
The very real problem is the fact that these men spent $400 million trying to over-throw the government and replace it with their own bought and paid for politicians. That’s fine. It’s their right to do so. But, by allowing them, and their associates, to get away with spending so darn much money, it is literally undermining our country and way of life. They are now more important than the rest of us. The playing should be equal. Everyone should be allowed to spend a specific amount on politics and candidates and NOTHING MORE. Until Citizen’s United is overthrown, we have no democracy, no republic, no real freedom. It’s all about the growing power of the oligarchs.
