“…“In my early 20s, I was a full-blown, right-wing radical. As a member of the Southern secessionist group the League of the South, I argued seriously for the states of the old Confederacy to break away from the rest of the Union,” wrote Hunter in a Charleston City Paper column. “I thought it might be better to tone down the radicalism and at least try to appear more respectable. But when I came across an old column of mine last week, I realized that I never really changed. I’m still just as radical or crazy, depending on your perspective. In fact, I might be getting worse.”…” Jack Hunter
Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when we continue to practice to deceive! Yahoo thinks that Jack Hunter, formerly known as the Southern Avenger will be going away, so that little Rand can blaze a path to the White House (God Help Us All). The Pink Flamingo doesn’t think so, at all. He’s been around far too long.
The Pink Flamingo thinks that Jack Hunter is one of the most disgusting and despicable humans on the political scene today. Not only has he made it his life’s mission to destroy my friend, Lindsey Graham, but he hangs out with really bad people like white supremacists. Over the years, The Pink Flamingo, has been documenting the nasty things Jack Hunter, AKS the Southern Avenger has done to Lindsey.
“...It turns out that Senator Paul has been pallin‘ around with a neo-confederate pro-secessionist named Jack Hunter. Hunter is a close Congressional aide to Senator Paul, and is, according to Media Matters, a “regular” on Fox, writes for the conservative Daily Caller (also known as the Daily Screamer for screaming at President Obama during a Rose Garden speech, but they are also not racists — they just play racists when covering the White House), is associated with former South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint (big surprise), and helped Paul write his 2010 book The Tea Party Goes to Washington. The Free Beacon reported Tuesday that among Hunter’s other activities like advocating for the secession of the South as chairman of the “implicitly racist group” League of the South or writing for The American Conservative or promoting Ron Paul’s presidential run on Fox News Business (‘cuz nothing says freedom like secessionism, just ask Sarah Palin), he was also a shock jock supporting the assassination of President Lincoln….”
Oh dear, and Jennifer Ruben disapproves. Never mind that Hunter helped Jim DeMint write his little book, and did the same with both Pauls. We all know Ruben will do what she is told to do and say. The most fun is watching libertarian Reason piddle around to try and vindicate Hunter, who is one of their own.
Please, allow The Pink Flamingo a minute of pure enjoyment here. This couldn’t happen to a better pair of jerks – Rand Paul or Jack Hunter.
“...As Dave Weigel pointed out on Twitter, “Jack Hunter was the Ron Paul 2012 campaign’s main blogger. Not like he appeared out of nowhere.” And the elder Paul has seen his own problems here, after a trove of dozens of racist newsletters sent under his name emerged two years ago. Paul denied writing them, saying they were ghostwritten and he didn’t read them closely enough before giving approval to attach his name. And here’s a video of Ron Paul last year in front of a giant Confederate flag giving a speech essentially saying the South was right in the Civil War (but not about the slavery part). Paul has also invited neo-Confederate activists to testify before Congress. And then there’s the cast of characters on the advisory board of Paul’s new post-retirement political organization.
It’d be bad for any politician, but Rand Paul has tried to build a brand that sets him apart from the rest of the GOP and to make himself more appealing to non-typical Republican voters, like minorities, so the damage could be especially severe. An interesting side note is the fact that the FreeBeacon, a conservative publication, broke the story. The website has staunchly pro-Israel views and tends to side with the muscular foreign policy wing of the movement, which is often at odds with Paul’s anti-interventionist views….”
According to the WPost, it isn’t clear how close Hunter is to Little Rand. We all know the answer to that one. He’s a Ron Paul advocate. I suspect he’s been put there by daddy, so that he can keep an eye on sonny, who isn’t the brightest bulb in the marquee.
“...It’s not clear how close Hunter is to the senator. He serves as Paul’s new media director. According to a recent Washington Monthly article, Hunter has been advising Paul on foreign policy. In addition to his current work for the senator, Hunter helped Paul write a 2011 book, “The Tea Party Goes to Washington.” But on his Web site and radio show he clearly speaks for himself (as when he endorsed Mark Sanford in the May South Carolina special election). Hunter also worked on former South Carolina senator Jim DeMint’s 2011 book, “Now or Never: Saving America From Economic Collapse.”…”
Rand Paul thinks that the GOP is winning the battle for white people. This is one white person who will never ever ever vote for him, and right now, am not likely to vote for another Republican. Jack Hunter has been on record, repeatedly, hating the GOP. He is libertarian, seriously anti-GOP. Why does a man who is chest-thumping his way to running for the nomination in 2016 have someone like this on his staff?
There’s another reason why Rand Paul has put Jack Hunter on his staff. Hunter hates Lindsey Graham. Rand Paul is in SC doing his best to make trouble for Lindsey. The addition of Jack Hunter helps him, as The Pink Flamingo suspects, Hunter will be part of the process of trying to find someone viable (what a joke) to primary Lindsey next year.
The Pauls hate Lindsey Graham. So does Jack Hunter. What we are looking at is a match made in hell.
