The Scary, Gun Totin’ Freaks of the Tea Party

skunks-477DISCLAIMER:  Once again, The Pink Flamingo would like to repeat that the use of the photo of the  mammal, Musteloidea Mephitidae should not be taken as an insult to those fine and noble creatures.  No insult should be intended upon those of their species.  Any resemblance between Musteloidea Mephitidae and members of the Republican Party, Tea Party Patriots, Charles & David Koch, John Boehner, Rick Santilli, Ted Cruz, Michele Bachmann, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity,  patriotic truckers, militia, and the extreme right is purely coincidental.  Once again I reiterate that no insult to the noble skunk is intended.  The only resemblance between the above is the vile odor coming from the far right, and the House Gym.

Michele Bachmann is demanding the impeachment of  ‘dictator‘ Barack Obama.  She is basically calling for an Egyptian style uprising against Obama and  that civil disobedience may result – on Rusty Humphries’ radio show. She says she’s not calling for civil disobedience, but thinks it coming.  One of the hallmarks of these individuals, even those in Congress is abject Constitutional ignorance.

“…A “people’s grand jury” is a non-actionable, non-governmental vigilante organization assuming responsibility to indict an individual or groups of individuals of committing actionable crimes similar to an official grand jury. People’s grand juries are favored by conspiracy theorists like those seated to challenge President Obama’s birth certificate, and are loosely based on the Fifth Amendment premise that “no person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury.”  A band of jurors convened without court approval has no standing or authority to indict or issue arrest warrants for public officials, and law enforcement certainly will not recognize or execute a fake indictment, but that is of no consequence to constitutionally ignorant vigilantes….”

Rick Santilli, who began this whole mess four years ago, is at it again.  This time three specific individuals are in his irrational cross-hairs.  Barack Obama, John McCain and Lindsey Graham.  Santilli is so upset, on Wednesday, he basically called for these three honorable and decent men to literally be destroyed.   Santilli, who is also one of the leading advocates for the trucker attack on the nation’s capitol.  He now appears to be calling for violence.

“…Media Matters reported on Wednesday that in a profanity-laced radio broadcast, Pete Santilli, called for the impeachment of President Barack Obama and the ouster of Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and also accused lawmakers of engaging in “financial terrorism” over their debate about raising the federal debt limit.

“There is a select few of us — we’ll call them Three Percenters — that will take the next logical step to stop our domestic enemies,” Santilli said on the show. “It will be stopped. I’m going to say this: this is not a threat. We will defend our nation to the absolute death.”…”

The best part of all of this is the fact that the Koch Brothers – Koch Industries never lobbied to defund Obamacare.  In fact…

“…“Koch has not taken a position on the legislative tactic of tying the continuing resolution to defunding ObamaCare nor have we lobbied on legislative provisions defunding ObamaCare,” Philip Ellender, Koch’s government and public affairs president, wrote in a letter to Senate lawmakers Wednesday. …”

Oh?  Well – the Kochs are on record as to having poured over a quarter of a billion dollars into this.

“…FreedomWorks has signed on to the following Memo to the Movement by the Conservative Action Project:
Current Event:
The current continuing resolution (CR) funding the government expires on March 27, setting up an opportunity for Congress and President Obama to honor the bi-partisan sequester savings already agreed upon.  It also presents an opportunity to achieve even more savings by defunding and stopping the implementation of Obamacare, which the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) recently reported will force 7 million Americans out of their existing health insurance.

Conservatives cannot support a CR that is above the sequester level of $974 billion annually.  While many conservatives would prefer reprogramming defense cuts to other areas of discretionary spending (dollar for dollar cuts in the same year), the current sequester savings are better than none at all.
Conservatives should not approve a CR unless it defunds Obamacare.  This includes Obamacare’s unworkable exchanges, unsustainable Medicaid expansion, and attack on life and religious liberty.
A mere “date-change CR” is unacceptable.  Although the Obama administration and others will argue the CR is not the appropriate legislative vehicle to defund Obamacare, it is easily done through a series of appropriation riders.  Because the CR represents one of the best vehicles possible to delay the implementation of Obamacare, it must not be used to bargain on the upcoming sequester.

Issue in Brief:
On October 1, 2013, open enrollment begins for the federally backed health care exchanges. On January 1, 2014, new money from Washington will begin flowing to states and individuals, all but ensuring that these new entitlements will become a permanent fixture of life in America. The window of opportunity to stop the implementation of these massive new subsidies is closing.Although many of Obamacare’s provisions are now the law of the land, many of the law’s most damaging and irreversible provisions do not take effect until 2014.

Once implemented, the new spending contained within Obamacare, primarily the Medicaid expansion and exchange subsidies, will cost taxpayers more than $1.6 trillion over the next decade, according to the latest CBO estimates.  Given the history of federal entitlement programs and the back-loaded nature of Obamacare spending, some estimate the full implementation cost could reach  $2.6 trillion over ten years. It will increase the federal government’s health spending by 15 percent.

The issue is far from settled in the states, which are tasked with either implementing the wide-ranging mandates and invasive requirements put forth by Obamacare, or deferring such choices to the bureaucrats in Washington.

The fractured opinion amongst the states is one reason the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has continually pushed back the deadline for states to make a decision on the exchanges and Medicaid expansion.

The invasive elements of Obamacare are not set in stone; in fact, elements of the law are already under assault from Republicans and Democrats alike. The CLASS Act was repealed and there is bipartisan support for eliminating the devastating Medical Device Tax.

Blueprint to Defunding Obamacare

Obamacare’s funding mechanisms are as complicated as the law itself, but they can be stopped through the appropriation process, which includes the upcoming continuing resolution.
Federally Backed Exchanges.  An appropriations rider must eliminate the refundable tax credits for premiums and the cost sharing subsidies that are essentially used to support insurance purchased in the Obamacare exchanges, which starts January 1, 2014.

Medicaid Expansion.  An appropriations rider must eliminate the enhance match funding for the Medicaid expansion, which takes effect January 1, 2014.

Permanent Appropriations.  Obamacare contains items called “permanent appropriations” which guarantee funding for the Community Health Center Fund (CHCF) and Prevention and Public Health Fund (PPHF).  An appropriations rider turns off funds for these so-called permanent appropriations, which are already in effect.

Implementation.  An appropriations rider must block the implementation of Obamacare, covering salaries, rulemaking, enforcement, etc.

Life and Religious Liberty. Obamacare is an unprecedented attack on life and religious liberty. An appropriations rider must repeal the HHS mandate that attacks the religious values and principles of countless Americans.

Miscellaneous Programs.  An appropriations rider must block all funding for newly authorized discretionary programs contained in Obamacare and return reauthorized programs back to their pre-Obamacare levels.

And so, here we are, with quite a few truckers heading to Washington to enforce their version of what the Constitution should be.  They are egged on by the likes of Rick Santilli who keeps telling people who spend way too much time listening to talk radio that Obama is a traitor.  They are told that John McCain and Lindsey Graham are traitors.  They are being empowered and augmented by a highly armed militia who are nothing but ignorant hot-heads.  Unfortunately, the Kochs, who are disparately trying to wash their hands of the situation, are guilty as hell.

More and more, people are starting to stand up to the Koch Brothers.

“...The current budget brinkmanship is just the latest development in a well-financed, broad-based assault on the health law, Mr. Obama’s signature legislative initiative. Groups like Tea Party Patriots, Americans for Prosperity and FreedomWorks are all immersed in the fight, as is Club for Growth, a business-backed nonprofit organization. Some, like Generation Opportunity and Young Americans for Liberty, both aimed at young adults, are upstarts. Heritage Action is new, too, founded in 2010 to advance the policy prescriptions of its sister group, the Heritage Foundation.

The billionaire Koch brothers, Charles and David, have been deeply involved with financing the overall effort. A group linked to the Kochs, Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, disbursed more than $200 million last year to nonprofit organizations involved in the fight. Included was $5 million to Generation Opportunity, which created a buzz last month with an Internet advertisement showing a menacing Uncle Sam figure popping up between a woman’s legs during a gynecological exam.

The groups have also sought to pressure vulnerable Republican members of Congress with scorecards keeping track of their health care votes; have burned faux “Obamacare cards” on college campuses; and have distributed scripts for phone calls to Congressional offices, sample letters to editors and Twitter and Facebook offerings for followers to present as their own….”

The problem is not being helped by the lies of FOX News.  If something doesn’t happen, and some of these hot-heads either shut up or reigned in, we’re looking at what could be a horrible show-down in DC this weekend.

“...It also claims the Obama administration is violation the War Powers Act by “exposing, and administering experimental, psychotropic, mind altering drugs for control over soldiers during secret, clandestine operations.”

Andrews told U.S. News and World Report that among the actions that Congress could take to prevent the “shutdown” by the truckers would be the impeachment of President Obama. But not all of the participants agree.

“We are not going to ask for impeachment,” a Georgia trucker named Earl Conlon, who claimed to be in charge of logistics for the protest, told the reporter. “We are coming whether they like it or not. We’re not asking for impeachment, we’re asking for the arrest of everyone in government who has violated their oath of office.” Among those he expected to see arrested are former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California.

One of the most avid supporters of the protest is radio host Pete Santilli, who recently joined up with fired Pennsylvania police chief Mark Kessler to cohost a Patriot-movement radio show. He hosted Andrews on his show recently to promote the protest, promising to “shut Washington down….”

“...One of the most avid supporters of the protest is radio host Pete Santilli, who recently joined up with fired Pennsylvania police chief Mark Kessler to cohost a Patriot-movement radio show. (Santilli is currently best known for saying on his own radio show last May that he would like to “shoot Hillary Clinton in the vagina” and then watch her slowly die.) He hosted Andrews on his show recently to promote the protest, promising to “shut Washington down.”

On that program, Andrews made clear that the purpose of the protest was to warn Americans that the government was conspiring to bring down the nation’s economy. “They are going to crash the economy, there’s no doubt about that,” she said. “That’s what they’re planning.”

Conlon, in the meantime, appears to be promoting the classic Patriot-movement strategy of applying a “Citizens Grand Jury” — in which ordinary “sovereign citizens” supposedly can convene a jury and declare federal laws unconstitutional without court approval — to the elected officials in Washington. He told the U.S. News and World Report reporter that such a jury would be used to indict various liberal officials.

“We want these people arrested, and we’re coming in with the grand jury to do it,” he said. “We are going to ask the law enforcement to uphold their constitutional oath and make these arrests. If they refuse to do it, by the power of the people of the United States and the people’s grand jury, they don’t want to do it, we will. … We the people will find a way.”…”

The Koch truthers are determined to destroy our economy.  They are all about a revolution, and remaking this nation of the Kochs, by the Kochs, and for the Kochs, praise be the Kochs.   What is going on here is terrifying.  We are looking at the destruction of the United States of America, as we know it, of any of these individuals are allowed to get away with their deplorable agenda.

  1. It’s Sunday Oct. 13 and I’ve heard nothing about this trucker protest. I take it that it was a total bust?
