I Don’t Like Unfairness

Fatal Alligator Attacks Set New Record In FloridaEver since I was a little kid, I’ve disliked things and people who are unfair.  There is a difference in being biased, bigoted, nasty, even kind, and being unfair.  A person can be a bigot and be fair.  Heck, I’m completely bigoted when it comes to my bias against the French.  But – I am quite fair.  I think the French produce one of the finest products in the world – Louis Vuitton.  A person can be nasty, bitchy and yet be fair.  I’ve seen some of the kindest people do things that were horribly unfair.

The definition of fair is just, equitable, honest, upright, honorable, trustworthy, in accordance with rules and standards, legitimate.  It is about achieving without cheating, or trying to do so with an unjust advantage. Other definitions including treating people in a way that does not favor some over others, not to harsh and not too critical.  It is free from self-interest, prejudice or favoritism.

I don’t care if someone is liberal, tea party, conservative, code pink, left, right, black, white, male, female, gay, lesbian, straight, Christian, Jew, atheist, Muslim, Hispanic, Brit, Native, young or old.  I don’t even care if they are French.

When you continually manipulate the situation, in order to prove a point, you are unfair.  There is no difference between Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck and the dizzy denizens of Code Pink – is there?

The Koch Brothers are the most unfair individuals currently allowed to wreck havoc on the United States.  We’re now learning that Americans for Prosperity, spent over $122 million in 2012, to promote a far right libertarian agenda an do as much harm as possible to Barack Obama.  Yes, what they did is currently legal.  I don’t think anyone with half a brain will even remotely think that what they are doing is fair.  The only other entity in this country that is as unfair as the Kochs is Walmart.

Neither is what happens to various and sundry men and women who prefer same sex.  The way some hospitals treat LGBT couples is deplorable.  It is vastly unfair.  It’s like John Boehner saying that LGBT employment protections are unnecessary, or the so-called Christian who refused to tip a server because she was a lesbian and her personal choice was against their religion.

Currently, I think the Kansas City Atheist Coalition is totally and completely unfair.  I don’t see where they are any fairer than the jerk Christians who are stiffing their LGBT servers.  If they worked with the Kansas City Rescue Mission on a regular basis, I could see being pissed if they were not allowed to serve Thanksgiving dinner.  If they had a habit of doing things for the community that are outside their agenda of promoting their religion, then I would say, great and no fair.  They aren’t.  They are now helping the Micah Ministry serve lunch.  Too bad they can’t help more than once a year.

The way George W. Bush is being treated, by the far left, lately, is disgusting.  Then, there is the way the Far Right is Barack Obama is deplorable.  It is getting so bad, the idiots of the right, especially at FOX news, are salivating about badly things are going for him.

Unfair is the way the press is treating Barack Obama over the ACA.  Grossly unfair is the way the far right is treating them.  Most Americans are fair.  We understand that you get you pay for, and when anything is done via the government you aren’t allowed to take the best product, but the cheapest. Red State governors, for the most part, are sand-bagging Obama.

No, it is not fair.  Anyone with half a brain knows something like this is going to take ages to accomplish and get it right.  If the GOP were about helping get things right, that would be one thing. They’re not.  It is about doing everything possible to destroy Barack Obama.
