One little ‘godly man wrote:
“…The ugliness of the feminist mind-frame towards cooking, cleaning, and caring for others is so profound that it is difficult to process. These women are so obsessed with not showing Christian love that they make it a priority not to serve their own families. Cooking, cleaning, and caring for their own husbands and children is a concept which is repulsive to them. Acts of service to others are in their twisted minds traps to be avoided, and many go so far as to order their entire lives around avoiding showing love to others, especially their families. These women are so gripped by miserliness they have made it a priority not to show love to their own children. When they find themselves unable to avoid an act of service and love to their families altogether, they first steel their hearts with resentment, turning their hearts to stone to avoid the feelings of selfless love they live in constant terror of developing.
It is important to remember that while these women have avoided love and service to others in an attempt to profit, this does not profit them at all. The philosophy of the miser is profoundly destructive to the miser themselves. While we shouldn’t lie about the extreme ugliness in this frame of mind, we should remember that the miser is suffering immensely from their own perverted outlook. There is also great opportunity here. While what I’m describing is quite plain to see once you consider it, very few have ever had the opportunity to really examine it. We can help explain the profound ugliness of a miserly heart, and in doing so (if we are doing it right) we are doing an act of love….”
Wives are craving their husband’s leadership. Their ‘godly’ Christian husband should not allow her to get away with being overly emotional, you see, women don’t think. And, this comes from the story of David facing Goliath! I’m serious. This is how ignorant the so-called educated ‘godly’ man has become. They are so well-educated they are demanding the rest of us wallow in their ignorance and abject stupidity. Or, how about keeping women from voting?
“...But since women are allowed to vote in our society, doesn’t this mean Christians must compromise with the cultural mores and have our wives vote, so we can double our impact? This assumes that God NEEDS our help in appointing His choice of leaders (Romans 13:1 makes it clear that all “authorities that exist are appointed by God”). Especially if registering to vote creates greater vulnerability for our families, perhaps we should rethink this question…”
The so-called spiritual leader, and Man of God, who made this suggestion, also thinks a girl of 13 should be allowed to marry a guy of 26. Women should not be allowed to vote, and should not be working outside the home. All of this is in the Bible – as revealed to anointed ‘godly’ men. Another ‘godly’ man says that Paul demands women be married, at a very young age. Apparently women like moi, who are over a certain age, are going to hell.
“…All of this, if nothing else, should reinforce the principle that marriage, even young marriage, is emphatically normative. But, I think it goes even farther. I think it speaks to Scripture’s (perhaps unspoken) condemnation of unduly prolonging the unmarried state. It expects all young women to attend to the duties of keeping a house, having a husband, bearing children, etc. It expects women who are not in their father’s house in their youth to be wives (if not widows or divorced). Even widows, especially if they are young, are expected to remarry and continue with the duties of guiding a house, lest they should give occasion to the adversary or cause the Word of God to be blasphemed.
Scripture’s exclusion of the “independent” woman, the woman (not a widow) who is unmarried in her thirties and working a career outside the home is more than mere oversight. It was intentionally omitted. That may be considered an argument from silence, but that goes both ways: Those defending the status quo have the burden of proof to show that Scripture in any way supports their position. But, instead, Scripture overwhelming supports young, fruitful marriages within the Church with the woman guiding the household, submitting to her husband, bearing children…
…to the utter exclusion of the contrary….”
What fascinates me the most is that the so-called ‘godly’ men who are inflicting this heresy on an ignorant public are NOT theologians. They are men who aren’t even educated in the scriptures. They view religion as a hobby. Another, Michael Pearl, who advocates beating and abusing children, nearly to death, also has not allowed his children to have marriage licenses. In other words, they are married in the eyes of God, but not legally.
The bottom line is quite simple. We’re dealing, increasingly with a world of Duck Dynasty celebs like Phil Robertson, who is now writing Bible studies for churches, primarily the Church of Christ, which is a cult. But, today, Christians are basically so ignorant when it comes to their faith that they don’t understand that what Phil Robertson is teaching is heresy for the average Christian. That’s the problem. As soon as someone says they are a Christian, everyone fawns all over them, never bothering to even ask the questions they would ask when buying a new cell phone. Strange how that is. People won’t even ask what people believe, taking their ‘sage’ knowledge of the Bible at face value, not even asking why.
“…In these churches, male pastors encourage “young men” (and young men only) to prayerfully consider whether or not God has “called them to the ministry.” If a young woman claims that God has called her to be a pastor, she may be reprimanded. The call could not have come from God. If it did in fact have a spiritual origin, it must have come from the devil. I’ve lost count of the number of young women who were told this by their church leadership, which was of course all male. “A subjective sense of calling to pastoral ministry must never contradict the word of God,” women are told, by men who never stop to consider that their interpretation of the Bible may be equally subjective, and possibly wrong.
Women tell me that other men at church approach their husbands with outstretched hands, greeting them warmly. The women, however, are ignored. Sometimes men won’t speak to them. Often men will not even look at them. Apparently, looking at another man’s wife, even in church, may lead to “lust” or the “appearance of evil,” I’ve been told….”
Today, they devalue John 3:16, and emphasize 1 Timothy 2:12: 1 Timothy 2:12 I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent. John 3:16 ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
What is getting lost in all of this is the fact that, even today, very good books are being written about Christianity and the Bible by very well educated, learned individuals who have not been brainwashed by Christian Reconstructionism. When you find one, it is like a breath of fresh air! I guess what started this whole rant is I picked up a Kindle version of Paul Through Mediterranean Eyes: Cultural Studies in 1 Corinthians. Wow! It is just plain exciting to read something based on reality, not on some sick and perverted heresy.
“...Now when we look further at the Lord’s plan for the wife we can again see why a woman cannot hold the office of pastor. Ephesians 5:22 tells the wife — Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. Then there’s also Colossians 3:18 — Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. If a woman is ordained as a pastor, it then creates a reverse of this command because the husband would now be required to submit to his wife.
No, how much better that we be wise enough not make the exact same mistake that Adam made when he submitted to his wife and thereby opened her up to being deceived by the serpent. The truth is that Adam should have been protecting his wife Eve as God had ordained. And what’s been happening for years now is that these denominations who have been ordaining women to the office of pastor, in violation of the clear teaching of Holy Scripture, are making the identical mistake Adam made.
You need to understand that just as God will never truly bless the churches in the Church Growth Movement, such as those in at tractional and Emerging Church movements, who are watering down His message, and neither will the Lord approve denominations that are obliterating His plan for male leadership in His local churches. You need to realize, this is really not a minor issue at all. And what-is-more, right now, it is a gathering storm….”
