Screen shot 2014-09-30 at 8.45.55 AMOnce again the political world is yawning toward another alleged scandal.  As far as scandals go, this one is well, boring.  We’ve heard it all before, same song, new verse, different vocalist, different band.  Before I go any farther I want to state that I was originally against the ACA because it was ‘socialized’ medicine.  I then changed my mind, and supported it because I realized that ‘socialized’ medicine is the only way to do things.  There are some things that need to be done by governments.  I have come to realize that oversight into medical care, single payer, perhaps based on something like Medicare (which, contrary to protests does work) is the only way to go.  Now, though I think the ACA is a joke, a total and complete joke because it is no more ‘socialized’ medicine than my toy poodle is a cat.  It’s all smoke and mirrors designed to line the pockets of big pharma, insurance companies, lobbyists, and screw the little guy.  It’s the biggest pile of do-do we’ve seen in this country in years.  As time goes on, we’re only going to realize what a crock the entire thing is.  When we do, one of two things will happen.  It will either force us to go into a single payer system, or completely render medical care out of reach for we the little people.  The way this country is going, I suspect it will be the latter.

We live in a world where our quality of life is being degraded by the day.  Some of it is in the name of protecting us from the evils of ‘global warming’, which is also a crock.  Please note that I did not say climate change is a crock.  We’re living through a great period of climate change, quite possibly NOT the warming period that the Henny-Pennys of the world say it is, but an intensifying of cold due to increased volcanic activity, world-wide.  Volcanic activity causes global cooling.  It is that simple, a given.

This said, our quality of life is being degraded, almost daily, from the price we pay in the grocery store, to the price we were paying at the pump.  Years ago I wrote that the real reason for the domino effect of the crash of 2008 were the increases in gas prices, due, primarily to speculation and (Koch) greed.  I still think this is true.  The problem with high prices is the fact that, when something goes up, the price almost never goes down.  In 2008 I was complaining because butter was $1.99 a pound.  Today, that same butter is $4.98 a pound.  We’re told it is due to the drought in California. In fact, according to Bloomberg, the price of butter is at a 16 year high.  When you complain at the grocery store, they tell you it is due to the drought.  But – according to economists, the price is due to global trade demands.

Have you even attempted to purchase potato chips the past year or so?  A bag weighing something like 8.5 ounces in one store here in town is $4.00!  Why, I asked – well, there’s a drought in California.  I’m sorry, but do I look that stupid?  Well, I suspect I am.  Jonathan Gruber is in deep you know what because he has dared say, on record, that we the voters in America are stupid, S – T – U – P – I – D.  Guess what, we are.   Stupid is as stupid does, and we do stupid quite well.  In order to prove how stupid we are, the White House is disclaiming Gruber.  Nancy Pelosi ‘never’ met the guy.  He’s embarrassed Mitt Romney, who now doesn’t know much about him.  It would be amusing if it weren’t so disgusting.  In other words, Washington does think we are stupid, and they are right.

Yes, I guess we look that stupid.  I don’t care who created the ACA.  I find amusing the fact that the Dems are trying to distance themselves from the person who created Romneycare, then basically used it as a background for Obamacare.  No one is pure here, but everyone is running around, like a chicken with their heads cut off, trying to distance themselves from the man.  Unfortunately, he is right, we are stupid.  We are so stupid we allow ourselves to be lured into a narrative, be it either liberal or conservative.  Conservatives believe everything being spoon-fed to them by FOX News, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and numerous Koch Whores.  Liberals believe what they are told to believe by what little news media is available to them.  No one bothers to think for themselves.  We’re stupid… stupid, stupid, stupid!

“…Jonathan Gruber, an MIT economist who the White House consulted on the bill back in 2009, said during an appearance at the University of Pennsylvania in October 2013 that a lack of transparency around the Affordable Care Act was politically advantageous. “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the ‘stupidity of the American voter’ or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical to getting the thing to pass,” Gruber said…”

Okay, do they think we’re that stupid? If you read the usual sources on the right, the end of Obamacare is near.  If you read the sources on the left, this is nothing but the right being nasty, as usual. You see, they hate Barack Obama.  It’s racist.  The problem is, they hated Bill Clinton.  They hate Hillary Clinton. They hated Al Gore, and they seriously try to hate Joe Biden, but what’s the use?  The racist scam is being used to control a certain segment of the population.  That’s my big complaint about the right, they are so very easily led. They are far more easily led than the left.  Can we suggest the right is stupider than the left?

The problem with the left, like the right, is that the talking heads like to tell us what to think.  According to MSNBC, which is as extremely biased as FOXNews, Gruber had very little to do with the ACA.  Yes, they think we are that stupid.  They want everyone to think how very well the ACA is working, to the point where we aren’t getting real facts and figures.  The problem is, I don’t know many people who have much to say about it, either way.  I know for a fact that there are business owners who are facing pending doom because of what they are going to be required to do.  I know what has happened to me.  Costs here in New Mexico are now so high, I no longer have insurance.  I was very happy with what I had, but that carrier no longer serves New Mexico in the individual capacity.   Once again, the left is going to sugar coat it, and the right is going to turn it into a nightmare from hell.  You see, they think we’re that stupid.

This is where I come in.  It is nothing but smoke and mirrors.  Those different policies, with different levels, and different coverage area a crock – at least here in New Mexico.  The bottom line, if you self-insure you are going to end up shelling out a good thousand bucks a month, one way or another, either in higher premiums or higher deductibles.  We also have fewer options, less control over our lives, and must prepay, up front for any out of pocket.  Anyone who thinks this is better is a fool, plain and simple.  Yes, we are stupid.

I now add the Obama Administration to the list of the stupids, I hope.  Were they so lacking in common sense that they failed to comprehend that big business was going to take advantage of everything, and change things in order make even more money?  If so, then there is something almost pathetically incompetent about such things.  If not, and they knew that insurance companies were going to use the situation to make a fortune off we the little people, then they are just as bad as the people who are scanning us.

The headline in the Boston Herald is that Gruber’s mouth could basically derail Obamacare.  No, I’m not that stupid.  It’s not going to happen.  We’ll leave that up to the hard right and the Supreme Court, which is basically bought and paid for by the Brother’s Koch.  The Obama Administration says that they did not mislead on the ACA. I say bunk.  They mislead.  The GOP mislead, FOXNews mislead, ALEC mislead, MSNBC mislead, Nancy Pelosi mislead, Paul Ryan mislead, as did Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Michael Medved, Laura Ingraham, and Rachel Maddow.  Everyone mislead, no matter what side of the aisle.

Yes, we are a nation of stupid people.
