Thank you Michelle Obama. Our iconic First Lady has struck again, that incredible yellow dress she wore in Japan, not withstanding. The dress is to die for!
The idiots of the world are now in a stupid snit over the fact that the First Lady wore her hair pulled back the other day. With luck, she will once again start a new fad, this one being pull your hair back and just deal with it. Please, please please!
Of course, the bigots were out in force, which is why I’m not linking to many of the articles about her hair. The comments are vile. The are racist! They are bigoted, and some are just politically motivated. The woman is stunning, arguably our greatest First Lady, ever.
Now, let’s get back to the hair. Sure, there are numerous other problems in this crazy mixed-up world of ours, but maybe the hair is a big deal. I think it is, for several reasons. We can see just where bigotry and racism is at play. And we an see how stupid people – especially men, are when it comes to hair.
First, they don’t know when the show was taped. Secondly, you can tell the way the lights are hitting her head that she’s far from bald. Thirdly, if the taping was fairly recent, then there is an explanation for why she had such a small bun. The light is not flattering. You can tell it isn’t. If it was taped recently, then she doesn’t have enough hair to pull it back in a bun. Any woman who has had her hair cut a little bit shorter knows that simple fact of life.
Her current do, from photos from Japan, is fairly short. It is as short as my last hair cut – which was too short for me. When you hair is that short, you can’t get a decent bun unless you slick it back, spray it down, and stick a million pins in it. Trust me, I know. I’m just now getting it long enough to do that, without the million pins. The back of mine is the same length as hers is in this photo. My bun is still anemic looking.
Also, compare color. The one slicked-back is the same shade as hers is now, only the lights are hitting it differently. She has a touch of red, in it, not much, but almost a hint of henna. It also looks like someone blew it, this time. I think it looks terribly over-processed, probably due to the change in color. But, it is the same.
I love the bun. My escape hair style is more a ‘French’ twist than a bun. It’s easier for me. I hope hers works, because then we’ll see more pull-backs, and I might be slightly stylish.
I just can’t get over how stupid some people are.
P. S. Did I mention that I love the dress?
