How the EPA Destroyed the Water in Five States

“...Ryan Flynn, secretary of New Mexico’s Environment Department, said the EPA alerted the state about the spill about 24 hours after Wednesday’s burst, delaying New Mexico’s response effort. “They were really downplaying the issue,” Mr. Flynn said. “There will be time for accountability. We’re unhappy, but at this time were trying to control the situation.”..”

I would like to be a liberal.  I like so darn many liberal causes.  Then again I like a lot of conservative causes.  When I take a political test, it puts me right smack in the middle. That works for me.  I’m rather bullish on national defense and foreign policy, and am terribly liberal when it comes to helping people. I would like a single-payer medical system.  We need a surtax on anyone making over fifty million bucks a year.  I think the EPA is a crock.  I think a lot of environmental actions, especially of the current Administration have degraded the quality of life of people in this country.

The incident did not happen in a vacuum.  According to local writers, people in the Durango-Silverton area have avoided the Superfund designation for the mine.  Let’s face it, many of these old mines are a disaster in the making.  But – what happened with the Animus is a crime, literally.  It is also part of what appears to be a growing cover-up within the EPA.   Right now, we don’t even know how bad it is.  We also know that the Obama Administration is trying to down play the incident.

Even more interesting is the way liberals are dealing with the disaster.  They’re trying to ignore it.  If  this were a corporate disaster, we’d be hearing about it for months.  But, the liberal outrage machine is completely silent on this one.  And – that is why I have absolutely no respect for liberals.  I think they’re even worse than conservatives when it comes to being hypocrites.
