Life Goes On…

SCAN0013Desmond has a barrow in the market place
Molly is the singer in a band
Desmond says to Molly, “Girl I like your face”
And Molly says this as she takes him by the hand

Ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on brah
La la how the life goes on
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on brah
La la how the life goes on

Desmond takes a trolley to the jewellers store
Buys a twenty carat golden ring
Takes it back to Molly waiting at the door
And as he gives it to her she begins to sing

Ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on brah
La la how the life goes on
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on brah
La la how the life goes on

In a couple of years they have built a home, sweet home
With a couple of kids running in the yard
Of Desmond and Molly Jones

Happy ever after in the market place
Desmond lets the children lend a hand
Molly stays at home and does her pretty face
And in the evening she still sings it with the band

Yeah, ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on brah
La la how the life goes on
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on brah
La la how the life goes on

SCAN0012Everyone has a favorite Beatle song.  This is one of mine.  Life goes on.  Today is the day I’ve been dreading since October 18, the day my father died.  My parents were married on August 29, 1951, in my grandparent’s orange grove, at 5511 Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach.  It was a huge wedding.  They were married for 63 years.  This is the first year, since my mother was 21-years-old that she does not have my father.  I think we’re all dreading the day.  If we can get her through Saturday and October 18, we have a chance of keeping her going.

Life goes on…

Today is very difficult.  I think this is the first post I’ve done since my father died that I’ve actually cried.  My mother’s going to have a rough day, today.
