Sunday Morning Opera: Luciano Would Be 80 Tomorrow

It is rare that I laud a tenor.  But, let’s face it, Luciano Pavarotti was one of the greatest, ever.  I was fortunate to see him, several times.  He was a force, larger than life, and a heck of a lot of fun, on stage, especially his Nemorino.  Rarely does an opera super-star become a culture phenomena.  He was.  The only other person who even comes close is Dmitri Hvorostovsky.

Did you actually think I wasn’t going to get Sherrill Milnes in on this?
