“…It has been nearly impossible for two U.S. presidents — Bush, a conservative evangelical; and Obama, a progressive liberal — to address the plight of Christians explicitly for fear of appearing to play into the crusader and ‘‘clash of civilizations’’ narratives the West is accused of embracing…” NY Times
I saw something that chilled me. The Obama Administration is not allowing Christian refugees from ISIS into the country. We’re accepting Muslims, but few Christians. Christians, like Jews under the Roosevelt Administration, are not wanted. Unfortunately, I wish that were the only problem going on here, but it is not. We just learned that the Obama Administration, the United States, has dropped something like 50 tons of ammunition to the ‘good guy’ Islamic terrorists (formerly Al Qaeda – the ones who killed something like 3,500 Americans on 9/11) in Syria after evil Russia has nearly bombed ISIS into the stone age. Why are supplying Al Qaeda with ammunition? Aren’t they the bad guys? Why isn’t anyone thinking through the process that ISIS is going to end up with 50 tons of ammunition – unless that was the intention all along. Our once honorable CIA now considers Al Qaeda “Syrian Democratic Forces”.
And so… Obama is accusing Russia of going after the ‘good guy’ terrorists. The problem here is it appears that he is on the brink of starting World War III. He has antagonized China. He is backing Neo-Nazis in the Ukraine, and now, thanks to Russia doing his dirty work, he is inching closer and closer to a major war. His fawning propaganda machine now has 81% of stupid, brainwashed Americans thinking that Russia is the enemy, when they are doing what we should be doing – defending Christians, and innocents against the evils of terror.
“…The Arab Spring only made things worse. As dictators like Mubarak in Egypt and Qaddafi in Libya were toppled, their longstanding protection of minorities also ended. Now, ISIS is looking to eradicate Christians and other minorities altogether. The group twists the early history of Christians in the region — their subjugation by the sword — to legitimize its millenarian enterprise. Recently, ISIS posted videos delineating the second-class status of Christians in the caliphate. Those unwilling to pay the jizya tax or to convert would be destroyed, the narrator warned, as the videos culminated in the now-infamous scenes of Egyptian and Ethiopian Christians in Libya being marched onto the beach and beheaded, their blood running into the surf.
The future of Christianity in the region of its birth is now uncertain. ‘‘How much longer can we flee before we and other minorities become a story in a history book?’’ says Nuri Kino, a journalist and founder of the advocacy group Demand for Action. According to a Pew study, more Christians are now faced with religious persecution than at any time since their early history. ‘‘ISIL has put a spotlight on the issue,’’ says Anna Eshoo, a California Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives, whose parents are from the region and who advocates on behalf of Eastern Christians. ‘‘Christianity is under an existential threat.’’…”
This is the brave new world the Obama Administration has created. It is a dangerous world where we are now the bad guys. It sickens me to think that we are now openly backing Neo-Nazis in the Ukraine and Al Qaeda, at the expense of those who were once our friends and allies.
