“…“It fits the definition of ethnic cleansing,”…” Cameron Hudson
Christians in Syria and the Middle East are an endangered species. Of course that opinion depends on your sources. Liberals seem to think that ISIS is not slaughtering Christians. Under Assad, Christians have had some bit of protection. Because Obama wants to do away with Assad, those protections are disappearing, rapidly. Depending on the source, upward of 150,000-600,000 Christians have been displaced, internally, in Syria. For the most they do not leave Syria, and apparently are not among the refugees, especially in the camps. They are in as much danger in the refugee camps as they are in Syria.
“…The Christians are being raped, tortured, and murdered by militias, not by the Syrian government. This technicality condemns them to continue to be victims without hope. And this technicality is being adhered to with all the tenacity with which President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s State Department manipulated quotas and created subterfuges to keep out the Jews fleeing the oppression of Nazi Germany. Obama no more wants the Middle East’s Christian refugees than Roosevelt wanted Europe’s Jewish refugees….”
It is quite obvious the Obama Administration has turned its back on Christians who are in danger. There are those who feel the world is ignoring their plight, even as Pope Francis tries to highlight it, when ever possible. During the calendar year of 2014, forty-three hundred Christians were slaughtered, just for being Christians. That number is double the previous year. Yet, the Obama Administration has refused to act to offer any sort of protection for endangered Christians.
“…Cameron Hudson, director of the Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial, said there is no question that Christians are being targeted in Iraq and Syria. The Islamic State has been vocal about its “genocidal intent” toward Christians and other minorities in those countries, he said. And though statistics on the death or displacement of Christians are hard to come by, the anecdotal evidence is bleak: Last summer, nearly every Christian in Mosul — one of the oldest Christian communities in the world — fled the city after Islamic State militants ordered them to leave or face death. Dozens of Assyrian Christians were abducted in eastern Syria earlier this year. Iraqi churches stand empty, even on major holidays, because so many congregants have fled….”
According to the Obama Administration, ISIS is contained.
In Syria and Iraq, ISIS is systematically destroying all vestiges of Christianity. Taking a page from history, modeling themselves on classic Muslim expansion, Christians are given the opportunity to convert to Islam or die. One of the problems is that liberals and the Obama Administration refuses do admit that ISIS is trying to exterminate Christians. Instead, they say that it is also a war against non-radical Islam. Fine, but have the guts to admit that they are currently engaged in a game of ethnic cleansing of Christians in the region.
The Obama Administration is refusing to admit that ISIS is conducting genocide against Christians in Iraq and Syria. Those of us who dare mention this, and a few other facts about Obama’s policy against Christians in Syria are damned as racists who are against refugees coming into this nation. Nothing can be farther from the truth. It just seems to me Christians should be given as much priority as Muslims for refugee status.
“…The Obama administration never seems to miss an opportunity to display its bias for Muslims against Christians. The U.S. State Dept. is in the habit of inviting scores of Muslim representatives but denying visas to solitary Christian representatives. While habitually ignoring the slaughter of Christians at hands of Boko Haram, the administration called for the “human rights” of the jihadi murderers. And when persecuted Egyptian Copts planned on joining the anti-Muslim Brotherhood revolution, Obama said no. Then there is the situation that every Arab nation the Obama administration has meddled in — for example, Libya and Syria — has seen a dramatic nosedive in the human rights of Christian minorities….”
Don’t expect compassion from this Administration. Only expect progressive politically correct dribble and an obvious bias against Christians. ISIS has made it quite clear they have embarked on nothing less than genocidal ethnic cleansing of Christians. Unfortunately, progressives in this country cannot allow such things to be mentioned. They hold white, conservative, Christians in such abject contempt that they assume we will embark upon a systematic slaughter of Muslims in this nation. Yes, there are crazies in this country, but there are crazies who are Muslims, liberals, blacks, progressives, democrats, atheists, and libertarians. Crazy knows no race, creed, religion, or national origin.
“…In the past five years, only 53, or 2.5 percent, Christians out of 2,003 Syrian refugees were accepted by the United States, according to The Hudson Institute’s Nina Shea, in a November 2 article in National Review. The selective choice of refugees to take was evident considering that 10 percent of the Syrian refugees seeking resettlement are Christians.
IRD Religious Liberty Director Faith McDonnell said the Christians facing persecution in Syria have a lot of hurdles to overcome in their aspiration to find new homes in America.
“Christians cannot go to U.N.-run refugee camps because there they face the same persecution and terror from which they fled,” she said. “If they are not in the refugee camps, they are not included in the application process for asylum. The State Department knows this, but continues to allow the office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees to select refugees for asylum with no regard to the endangered religious minorities.”
McDonnell said the U.N. and the U.S. government are not the only ones to blame for this injustice.
“U.S. organisations who resettle refugees are also to blame,” she said. Ironically, these include Christian groups that resist any special focus on Christian victims of ISIS, and those who oppose actions by Congress to welcome not just economic migrants but also Christians and other religious minorities victimised by ISIS….”
It is quite vogue these days to basically damn anything Christian. If you listen to progressives, Christian persecution does not exist. Christians are not dying in record numbers, throughout the world. Islam is not against Christianity. According to the Vatican, from the years 2000 – 2010, over one million Christians were killed, approximately a hundred thousand per year. Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world. You will never hear Secretary of State John Kerry make such a statement. Pope Francis fears that, if the current trends continue, Christians will become a persecuted minority, world-wide, fairly soon.
