The Demonetization of Christianity in the US Has Begun

Screen Shot 2015-11-24 at 8.55.09 PMSomething nasty is going on in this country.  Oh, nasty stuff is always going on, but this is a little different.  It has been a growing problem for ages, but the hatred and demonetization of Christians is reaching a new level. Let’s be brutally honest, much of the nastiness is well earned.  I’m a Christian and I can’t stand being around these people.

The problem is that things have changed.  There is a new attitude, a new nastiness about it all. I would not be paying that much attention to it, but I am well aware of the way things now operate in the extreme left.  I know how the game is played.  We’ve spent two years being manipulated into thinking that Vladimir Putin was the world’s worst monster, the second coming of Hitler.  The same machine has managed to turn George W. Bush into an abject monster, primarily to compensate from anyone examining the record of an abjectly incompetent Obama Administration.

If this were spontaneous, I would ignore it, but we’re looking at the Democratic voter manipulation machine at work.  Within an hour after the horrific shooting in Charleston, an Obama operative signaled pure contempt of anything from the South.  It was a cold-blooded and calculated attempt to manipulate the situation to their best advantage.  A climate of pure, dripping, repulsive, hatred was created.  It did not matter if a person was a white supremacist, member of an organization disapproved of by the progressive establishment, neo-Nazi, or just some stupid redneck defending their stars & bars.  Anyone who was white, Southern, Christian, conservative and male was damned.  No verified fact was necessary, just innuendo.

The past six months or so, the progressive world has been building up nice big fat hatred of anyone white, conservative, or Christian.  They are now attempting to equate Christianity with hard-core Islam.  Trust me, I will be the first to complain about the insanity of hard right so-called ‘Christianity’.  I’ve written about it.  The problem is, those who preach anti-Christian hatred, aren’t exactly in a position to even comprehend the fact that there are good people and bad people.  We’re dealing with an entirely new religion created by R. J. Rushdoony. It isn’t Christian.  It is heretical.  It is based on racism, bigotry, and select verses from the Old Testament.  It is entirely disingenuous for anyone, right or left, to equate what Rushdoony has created with the teachings of Christ.

The right has an abortion problem.  They’ve created it themselves. It is irrational.  It is insane.  It is stupid.  It is also not based on anything remotely Christian, nor did it even begin until Rushdoony’s new religion began to circulate via the networking of Bill Gothard.  I have written, extensively, about the problems they’ve created. But – the problem is that the progressive movement wants to treat irrational extremists as if they were the norm and not the exception.

It is just getting worse.  Make no mistake, the hatred we are seeing spewed against those of us who dare call ourselves Christians is manipulated by the left, by Democrats, primarily to stir up their base.  They have a problem with their base.  Ergo, we Christians must be treated like dirt.  Frankly, I don’t know about you, but I’m getting sick and tired of it.  I know, we are to turn the other cheek, but this is getting a little crazy.

For the record, I am very much against abortion.  Once upon a time,  up until about 1987 or so, the by-laws of the Southern Baptist Church listed abortion as a necessary evil.  Thanks to the influence of Gothard, things have changed.  I haven’t.  I still think it is a necessary evil.  I do not approve of it for birth control.  I do not approve of the worship of it, as do some on the left.  I don’t get it.  I never have.  I never will.  I don’t get the far right, an their actions.  Maybe my problem is I’m a reasonable Christian who realizes we live in a world where we don’t always get our way.  Oh, wait, that makes me an adult.  Dang.

And, for the record, there is no War on Christmas.  There is no War against Christianity.  There is no War against Christians.  There is no War on Women.  Attacking Planned Parenthood is not an attack on women. Having reservations about abortion and birth control is not about a war on women.  It is about conscience.  People who have those reservations have a right to voice them.  They don’t have a right to force those who do not believe something to act upon what they do not believe, I don’t care what the issue is.

We also have a right not to be manipulated for political gain.  The problem is that we also have an intrinsic right to be abjectly stupid.  My problem is that I’m sick and tired of people who don’t have the intellectual honesty to tell the difference.  I’m also tired of dealing with people who don’t have the common decency to realize that we all have rights.  I have a right to what I believe.  They have a right to what they believe.  I guess I’m just dumb enough to respect the person who says they are an atheist or agnostic and not try to force my religion upon them.  I guess I also expect people who don’t believe to leave what I believe the heck alone.  The problem is, when we require people believe what we believe, then we are no better than ISIS.

I don’t like being manipulated by the left or the right.  I don’t like the way this Planned Parenthood atrocity is being handled, like it is now open season on anyone who opposes abortion.  You know, 90% of Christians are NOT that stupid.  Evidently the left thinks we are.  Funny thing about underestimating people, you do it at your own peril.  I would rather someone underestimate me than overestimate.

I’m not happy with what I see going on here.  We are being manipulated by an increasingly incompetent President into his increasingly incompetent, mean-spirited, and petty agenda – against the President of Russia.  If we’re going to lose a few million people to nuclear war, or World War III, so be it.  He’ll be out of office by then.  It is all about his agenda and manipulating the message.  Ironically, Putin, the former Communist, is emerging as the champion of Christianity.  The so-called leader of the Free World is turning a blind eye to the slaughter of the innocents, just to prove a point.  Ergo, anyone who is a Christian is fair game, thanks to the need to prop up  his remaining year in office.
