According to various and sundry operatic ‘critics’ one of the greatest moments of the year was Dmitri Hvorostovsky’s return to the Met. There is a scene I want to use, but the person who posted it will not allow it to be embedded. You will need to follow the link. Unfortunately, he has canceled his upcoming performances of Trovatore at the Met. It is rather obvious he will be having additional radiation treatment. This is either good or bad. I was talking to an acquaintance last week. She has been pronounced cancer free, but they want her to have 6 weeks of additional radiation therapy. Let’s hope and pray that is what is going on here. What we do know is our favorite baritone has a rough time with radiation. He needs our prayers. So does his family. What they are going through is not easy.
He did this at the end of one of his concerts a few weeks later.
