Webster defines ‘besoil’ as to make very dirty. It is a word that is rarely used, but so very appropriate for what Mitt Romney is doing, not only to himself, but the GOP. Let’s face it, the the guava doesn’t fall far from the tree. If you know anything about guava, you know when it hits the ground and gets old, it stinks. If you know anything about Mitt Romney you know that his father basically destroyed Barry Goldwater in 1964, and tried to destroy Ronald Reagan. They are spoilers, as stinking as rotting guava.
He has decided to destroy Donald Trump. If he wants to do so, that’s fine. The problem is, his approach is getting old, nasty, and (fortunately for normal Republicans) he is in the process of destroying himself. With luck he will also destroy any vampire legacy his sons might have. They’re already hinting at running for office. It is a family passion. Get elected to a statewide job, then try and be POTUS. While doing so, they play the religion card, big-time.
In what can only be seen as a spoiled-brat temper tantrum, Mittens is now trying to recruit someone, anyone to pretend to run third party, so that he can step in at the last minute and be some sort of savior. Bill Krystol, who was once upon a time a very respected conservative journalist has ruined himself by embracing the Romney party line. For Krystol it is sad. When it comes to Romney, maybe this time the two-time loser will totally and completely wear-out his welcome.
What is infinitely fascinating is that the remaining so-called “Never-Trumpers” are those who were so closely associated with Mitt Romney and his version of the Ayn Rand right. Frankly, don’t let the door hit you on the way out, and good riddance!
