“…Albuquerque attorney Doug Antoon said rocks were flying through the convention center windows as he was leaving Tuesday night. Glass was breaking and landing near his feet. “This was not a protest, this was a riot. These are hate groups,” he said of the demonstrators…”
What happened on the streets of ABQ during and after the Donald Trump rally is not normal behavior for New Mexico. This sort of thing doesn’t happen in New Mexico. I’ve lived here since 1998. I have yet to see anyone wave a Mexican flag. I’ve seen them in Mexican restaurants, and across the border in Juarez, and at border check-points – over in Mexico. People here in New Mexico don’t go around waving Mexican flags. For one thing, people in New Mexico are extremely proud of their heritage. We’re also quite proud of our flag. If any flag would be waved, other than an American flag, it would be the state flag, the Zia.
This is NOT a sight you see in New Mexico. No normal person from New Mexico would harm a horse.
I defy anyone to say that the people who were protesting are from New Mexico. Want to know why? They were throwing rocks at the police horses. That is NOT a normal New Mexico thing. Not at all. They broke the glass to the doors at the convention center, trying to get in. They threw rocks at cops. They threw rocks at their horses.
This is NOT a normal New Mexico scene.
We don’t act like this in New Mexico. There are many who suspect Bernie Sanders supporters were part of the problem. Leave it to the press in the UK to prove that.
Want to know how we can tell the protesters aren’t all that tied to New Mexico? It’s very simple. In New Mexico, in a crowd, you see people flying the ZIA. There were none. People in this state, today, are furious. We’re angry, and want the world to know this is not how we act. This is not the real New Mexico – far from it.
The biggest loser was NM Governor Susana Martinez.
