Donald, Donald, Donald

Screen Shot 2016-07-29 at 11.25.55 PMThere are times when you would like to ask this man a simple question.  Don’t you know when to keep your big fat mouth shut?  I ask this as a fellow suffer of that age-old malady, Foot in Mouth Disease.  You see, I, too am a suffer.  I am trying to behave myself.  Trust me, right now, I’d love to open my big fat mouth and say something and start telling people what I think, but it isn’t going to help me, not in the long run.  Ergo, I am silent.  When someone is as smart as is our GOP nominee for POTUS, and has such a smart ass mouth, along with a very healthy dose of sarcasm, two other diseases from which I suffer, it isn’t easy.  He also suffers from the other problem that goes along with it.  He must always get the last word.  Yep, I too am afflicted with it, and it is an affliction. Years ago, after something very egregious happened in my life, a late friend told me that the greatest lesson she ever learned in life is if you can’t keep your big fat mouth shut, then stay home until you can.  I’ve learned my lesson, quite, well.  The problem though, when you are running for POTUS, is you can’t just sit down and shut up. (Apologies for the dangling participle.  If you don’t know what one is, then try Google.)

I’m thinking, when you have a POTUS who must have the last word on an issue, that’s a good thing, on the world stage.  Teddy Roosevelt had the last word.  He also learned to speak softly and carry a big stick.  Frankly, I find Trump’s candor and smart ass mouth to be refreshing.  There is one thing that he is – intellectually honest.  He is also not a hypocrite.  He says exactly what he thinks.  So do I.  I like that in a person.  You know where you stand with them.  One thing he is not is a diplomat.  A cynical definition for diplomat is someone who knows how to prevaricate.  Hillary Clinton is a master of it.  I detest liars. I am currently losing my home because someone has lied about the situation.  Hillary Clinton is a master of mendacity.

Having suffered through 8 years of Bill Clinton’s rule, I happen to know, when there is a somewhat false issue, being used to destroy the opponent, it is being done to obscure something damaging to the Clintons.  Hillary was caught in a great big fat lie, again, about her email.  She had a mediocre convention.  I’ve also been around politics long enough to know when you have a not-so-good convention and don’t get a big bounce, you’re in trouble.  I happen to think she is in trouble. The latest polling from independents is not good, at all. In fact, it could be a harbinger of pending defeat.

I happen to think the whole Khizr Khan issue is a very typical Clinton-type set-up, and Trump was honest enough, and intellectually honest enough to fall for it. Watching the man’s body language, if the GOP were fragile little Snowflakes like liberals, they would be hysterical.  His body language was threatening, authoritarian, and arrogant. In his mendacity, he basically blamed Donald Trump for his son’s death as a hero, ignoring the fact that Hillary Clinton voted for the war that killed him.  He was blaming Trump for being a racist and not knowing the Constitution by demanding incoming Muslim immigrants and refugees be vetted.  In all actuality, it is Khan himself who is ignorant of the Constitution, and the requirements for immigration into the US.  One such requirement is Good Moral Character.

Additionally:

“…(iii) the criminal activity referred to in this clause is that involving one or more of the following or any similar activity in violation of Federal, State, or local criminal law: rape; torture; trafficking; incest; domestic violence; sexual assault; abusive sexual contact; prostitution; sexual exploitation; stalking; female genital mutilation; being held hostage; peonage; involuntary servitude; slave trade; kidnapping; abduction; unlawful criminal restraint; false imprisonment; blackmail; extortion; manslaughter; murder; felonious assault; witness tampering; obstruction of justice; perjury; fraud in foreign labor contracting (as defined in section 1351 of title 18, United States Code); or attempt, conspiracy, orsolicitation to commit any of the above mentioned crimes;…”

Because we do not know who the pending refugees are, just this one clause could keep most of them out of the US, considering the activities of their counterparts in Europe.  Mr. Khan does not know the Constitution, but, apparently Donald Trump has advisors who do.  It also appears that the Democrats and Tim Kaine who were pandering in their use of Spanish, also don’t know the Constitution.  Read the bottom eligibility requirement for Naturalization.

I have come to the conclusion that Donald Trump is doing the right thing with Khan. Let him keep talking and he will talk himself into a corner. If the media would pay attention, he already has.  This is what he said, Sunday morning, on CNN.

“…In addition to this, there was in the speech that my good wife asked me to refrain from saying, I wanted to say we reject all violence. We are faithful, patriotic, undivided loyalty to this country. We reject all terrorism. She asked me not to say that because that was not the occasion for such a statement. We say to his ignorance, I address his ignorance, that the dirt effect, the most effect of the menace of terrorism have been Muslims in the world, Muslims hate this menace of terrorism as much as any other place. It is our duty to keep this country, our country, beautiful country, safe. We have always thought of [it] that way, we will continue to do our part to keep it safe and beautiful. What he cites in the name of Islam, and all that — that is not Islam at all! I wish he would have, somebody would have put something in his head that these are terrorists, these are criminals, these folks have nothing to do with Islam….”

Once again we are treated to what we here in the Southwest know as the Texas Two Step.  Not only is this about Islamic terror but the fact that the media and the Dems, along with the Never Trumpers of the GOP are using this man’s radical beliefs to be used to destroy Trump.   Khan is demanding the GOP denounce Trump for his ‘black’ heart where he is willing to be honest about just who the terrorists are, its collection to Islam, and the fact that we must vet who is coming into this country.  But – forget the media being honest about any of this.

The problem is the media doesn’t want to do its homework and the NeverTrump GOP refuses to stand by him. Seems that Khan is an attorney who works for a firm with strong ties to the Clinton Foundation! He is also connected to the Saudis, embraces sharia, and is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.  This was a dirty set-up by Clinton’s people.  Why did they not have families of other people who had given their lives for their country?  Why just this one family?
