The American Inquisition

I don’t know if you ever saw the movie, My Fair Lady, but in one of the songs, Henry Higgins details why a man should never let a woman in his life.  In the song, he prefers a new addition to the Spanish Inquisition, than to ever let a woman in his life.  Unfortunately, we are beginning to see the signs of a renewed version of the Spanish Inquisition, this one, according to one author, is now the American Inquisition.

The tactics are the same as in the McCarthy era, only the liberals now enforcing it, attempting to silence political discourse are starting to show up, in force, now armed, their faces obscured by handkerchiefs or hoodies, and wearing brown shirts.  I suspect it is only a matter of time before they adopt some form of robe and wear a hood.  It might not be white, the hood might not be a pointed dunce cap, but the intentions are the same.

Like so many of the science fiction masterpieces of the Soviet era predicted, we are rapidly entering an era where knowledge for the pursuit of knowledge is no longer allowed.  Speech must be censored.  Writing must be censored.  Anything which does not advance a specific agenda is considered ‘false’.  Anyone who spreads that agenda must be denigrated.

It is ironic how the left screams and yells about the right being oppressing free speech, yet they are the very ones doing it.   Interestingly enough, it appears as though there are some in Hollywood who are starting to figure out how damaging this all is.   Let’s just hope.  If not, we have very serious problems in this country.

On Tuesday, during his daily presser, Sean Spicer stated all President Trump (I’m still enjoying just the idea of President Trump, and find it it enough to make me happy) needs to do is put Russian dressing on his salad and the liberals will want him investigated for collusion with Putin.

Just how far does the New McCarthyism go?  Let’s be honest.  I’m guilty.  I’ve had independent thoughts.  I think the idea of a war with Russia is unthinkable.  But, that’s okay, I’m just buying into a false narrative.
