Fortunately, there is an opera for everything, including the Wild West. La fanciulla del West,
by Giacomo Puccini, directly followed his masterpiece, Madama Butterfly.  Premiering at the Met in 1910, it featured Enrico Caruso, and was conducted by Arturo Toscanini.  It is highly likely opera fanatic, Wyatt Earp managed to see a performance.  If he did not see a performance, he would have listened to the music from it.
