I hate this time of the year. I dread days that are dank, overcast, rainy, blustery, with dying leaves. I don’t like the first chill of autumn. It is about death and dying. We’re into post season baseball. The promise of spring and summer is long gone. I am writing this on October 16. The day is even more tragic because the operatic world is remembering our Beloved Dmitri, who went to be with the Lord on November 22, 2017. He would have been 56 today.
I lost my mother on January 2, of 2017. Then we lost our Beloved Dmitri. During the winter, I lost another good friend. I feel like the world is full of death and dying. To add the cherry on top of life, Aretha lost her battle with cancer.
There are so many things which need to be discussed. My heart isn’t in it, at least not today. I’m tired and I hurt. Maybe I’m finally able to cry. Please remember our Beloved Dmitri’s family in your prayers.
