One of the great big fat lies the anti-immigration bigots like to spew is that once illegal migrants are bussed back to Mexico, the jobs they were filling will go to Americans who need work. Another is that Arizona is a mecca for crime. Another is housing.
Another is just plain stupidity.
“…The Arizona governor, seemingly determined to repel every last tourist dollar from her pariah state, has sounded a new alarm about border violence. “Our law enforcement agencies have found bodies in the desert either buried or just lying out there that have been beheaded,” she announced on local television.
Why will the GOP and conservatives NOT see the truth when it comes to immigration reform? We like to think that conservatives have the ability to think for themselves, to comprehend the difference between right and wrong, but when it comes to immigration reform, they are as stupid as Democrats. Barbara Coe was there, suggesting that people lock and load.
Want a little background on Arizona’s SB 1070?
Arizona’s SB 1070 was the brainchild of FAIR.
“…Arizona’s SB 1070, were authored by the same crowd at the nativist extremist group FAIR, the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
Of the Prince William County measure, Mike Hethmon, general counsel for FAIR’s legal arm, the Immigration Reform Law Institute, crowed to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights that “to the extent that there is some kind of mad scientist behind all this, we’ll be happy to take credit.”
Did you know that only Hispanics are dangerous racists? That is the lie currently being promoted by the far right. They absolutely refuse to acknowledge the racist mote in their own eye. Take Patrick J. Buchanan, please. (NOTE: The Pink Flamingo does not like linking to World Nut Daily. I will list the URL and you go find it.
“…Indeed, of the last seven justices nominated by Democrats JFK, LBJ, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, one was black, Marshall; one was Puerto Rican, Sonia Sotomayor. The other five were Jews: Arthur Goldberg, Abe Fortas, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan.
If Kagan is confirmed, Jews, who represent less than 2 percent of the U.S. population, will have 33 percent of the Supreme Court seats.
Is it possible that the FOX NEWS editorial line to snuggle up to hard-core anti-immigration promoters is tainting their coverage of the news? According to almost every person on FOX, there is NO police brutality against Latinos. It is a myth promoted by the extreme far right. It is no wonder that a FOX affiliate would refuse to air anything that would taint the flagship’s story-line.
In Kentucky, the latest polling puts Rand Paul ahead of Trey Grayson in the primary, but Grayson would defeat the Democrat candidates handily. Paul would barely squeek by if he were to win at all. Rand Paul is a sure fire way for the GOP to lose a Republican held Senate seat. The Pink Flamingo WOULD NOT vote for Rand Paul. I would not vote for the Dem, but I sure WOULD NOT vote for Rand Paul. Only 19% of people in KY see themselves as “Tea Party”. Let’s just hope Kentucky goes the way of Indiana and the Tea Party candidate gets squashed.

Any rational thinker knows that the AZ immigration mess is going to seriously damage the GOP. Contrary to the popular lies of the far right talk so demigods, a hard line approach is a sure fire loser for any candidate.
“…And the party’s long-term thinkers worry that the Arizona law is merely a quick political fix which may create a permanent rift with the fastest growing segment of the U.S. electorate.
“It’s like a virus that you get and you don’t feel like you’re unhealthy for the first few days, but after that you have a fever and you’re really sick,” says Matthew Dowd, former President George W. Bush’s chief strategist in 2004. “You can’t win a national election and you can’t win certain states without the Latino vote. And Republicans already had a problem.”
Let’s get this straight. Jan Brewer’s new law, written by John Tanton’s flunkie, Kris Kobach for white supremacist lovin’ Russell Pierce, will not allow someone who is illegally targeted by the cops and is not illegal, from having any recourse?
Ruben Navarrett, Jr. brought up a salient point of Jan Brewer’s idiot law.
“…As such, the law doesn’t just allow for the possibility of racial and ethnic profiling of anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant (read: Latinos). It all but requires this sort of thing to happen. In fact, it includes a provision by which concerned citizens can sue law enforcement agencies that they believe to be non-compliant.
The Pink Flamingo does not watch Rachel Maddow’s show. BUT – on Thursday night, she beat the you know what out of Dan Stein of FAIR. Because I know quite a bit about the subject, I quickly realized that Maddow’s had done her homework.
Stein was vile and nasty in the interview, and just plain lied.
Sorry for the post today. The Pink Flamingo is dealing with an unfinished and over-due book (the May 1 deadline is sooo not going to be made.)
This comes from an email that found its way into my inbox. I am fairly comfortable with many of the details, enough so to use it. I am told the email is not a hoax.
As you know, one of the local ranchers was murdered in Douglas two weeks ago. His funeral is tomorrow. I received three messages similar to the one below from different officers within the Rangers and law enforcement.
The problem with the new law in Arizona is it presumes anyone who does not speak perfect English, or anyone who had English as a second language is an immigrant and must produce papers. It DOES NOT ALLOW FOR people to have been born here in the US, from families who have been here for hundreds of years, who do not have English as their first language.
While the English first bigots will begin screaming, I live in New Mexico. We are state where many older Hispanics still do not speak English, but their families have been here forever.
