PART II: Tea, Parties, The Constitution, and That Pesky Thing Called Freedom
The other night, The Pink Flamingo was watching one of the great American classics, To Kill a Mockingbird. For those ignorant wretches who have not seen the movie nor read the classic book, you have my pity. Atticus Finch (played by the late, great Gregory Peck) was the ultimate Southern attorney living in a small town. He understood that all men and women are equal, no matter what their color, nor their what was in their pocketbook.
When the haters could not crush Atticus Finch for going against their demands by defending a Black man innocent of the rape charges filed against him by a white trash woman, they tried to kill his children. There’s not much difference between the man who tried to kill the children of Atticus Finch and the tea party “patriots” who try killing the reputations and careers of good and honorable men and women who absolutely refuse to bend to their will.
What the Tea Party Really Believes?
The Pink Flamingo is terrified of extremes. I see the growing extremism and irrational behavior of the tea parties as just that. It did not start out this way, but it is getting there. The very real problem is the fact that the people involved in the tea parties are failing to weigh the biased information they are receiving from their tin-plated gods like Glenn Beck.
If something is not done to put some of these people in check, and explain the facts of life to them, via American history, we are in for a very terrifying ride, abjectly terrifying. How long will it be before some idiotic tea party twit who is seriously unstable does something like what happened in India over the weekend?
Tea Party “Patriots” Demand Lindsey Bow to Them & Apologize

Perhaps it is time for we the normal Republicans of the United States to demand the Tea Party “patriots” quit harassing and lying about our good elected Republican officials. Maybe they need to apologize to US!
I’m waiting….
NOTE TO LINDSEY: Don’t you dare give into the irrational and dictatorial spoiled demands of the tea party “patriots” who obviously don’t remember that there is such a thing as freedom of speech in this country. They want to promote the Constitution, but get rid of all those pesky amendments that annoy them.
About Those Cap/Trade Lies Against Lindsey
For some strange reason, libertarians hate Lindsey. The roots probably go back to his contempt for Ron Paul, Glenn Beck and other hysterical conspiracy nuts, then again, Lindsey is a very real Reagan Conservative. The man has courage. He is fighting in the face of tremendous lies against him, from the far right and the far left.
He is being so up front about what he is trying to do that he is putting a risk to his political career to do what is honest and honorable.
Annoying Tea Partiers the World Over!

One thing you gotta love about liberals is their way to out-manouver the right every time. During a long weekend when we need to be going after Obama, they decided to offer up Lindsey for the far right to crucify with their usual far right class. Few conservatives have the courage to admit that Lindsey is right. But then again, the whole idea is to spend the weekend beating up on Lindsey Graham rather than Barack Obama.

Lindsey Thinks Biden Should Shut Up!
On Fox and Friends, Lindsey discussed Joe Biden.
“...Of course, Graham suggested, that doesn’t mean President Obama is likely to fire Vice President Joe Biden. But “he can tell him to shut up.”
On Fox and Friends this morning, Graham said that he agrees with the President’s decision to oust McChrystal. He also took a couple of shots at civilian leaders there, saying that Karl Eikenberry, “the current Ambassador to Afghanistan, has a broken relationship with President Karzai” and that “Ambassador Holbrooke is a fine man who has got some friction between him and President Karzai.”
This is “a chance to start over,” said Graham.
Did George W. Bush Just Win?
“…”I’ve been a military officer most of my adult life, and there are lines you don’t cross,” Graham said. “Those lines were crossed. It was poor judgement, it was beyond poor judgement. It made it virtually impossible for the general to stay in his job.“…” Lindsey Graham
The Pink Flamingo was actually on time for the Wednesday 5:30 service today. (I had Altar Guild). The Feast Day of the Nativity of John the Baptist is on the 25th, exactly 6 months before Christmas. Our most excellent new priest, Judy Burgess, had a great little homily about John the Baptist. (In all fair disclosure, I picture John the Baptist as Newt Gingrich, the voice crying in the wilderness).
The message of today was that John the Baptist repeatedly told everyone he was not The One to Come, that he as a messenger, but not the Messiah. He had no problem being number two, of not being the important one. He was strong enough to know that there was another, the Messiah. The lesson is that there are men and women who are capable of being number two because they know being number two is important.
Manipulating the Primaries for Personal Ambition?
Why would Mitt Romney end up donating something like $42,000 to a candidate for governor in South Carolina. Well, first, Gresham Barrett endorsed Fred Thompson in 2008. This is NOT about putting the BEST person into office, it is about Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin manipulating the primaries to get the person THEY think will deliver SC’s extremely important POTUS primary vote in 2012.
Nah, it isn’t about tea parties, patriotism, or even who’s on first. It is about 2012, and the battle to get the nod from the Governor of SC to promote their Presidential ambitions.
SC could be the most pivotal of all primary states. The endorsement of the state’s governor is a big fat hairy deal. We all know Gresham probably won’t endorse either Palin or Romney. Ergo – they gotta go with Haley, shampoo and all.
What are all these endorsements about other than political brownie points?
The Han Solo of the US Senate (or) The Last Reagan Republican
A few weekends ago The Pink Flamingo made the mistake of watching a Star Wars marathon on television. Please accept my apologies for the analogy.
When Princess Leia remarked that Han Solo “certainly was brave”, Luke wanted to know what good it would do if he got himself killed. When it comes to bravery, Lindsey is brave – because he knows how to be a statesman. In the age of the Tea Party “patriots” who are basically little more than losertarian shills for the likes of the Pauls, and a few other losertarians, anyone who dares step out of line.
They’re doomed!
An Inconvenient Truth (about South Carolina)
There are some idiots in South Carolina who claim to have voted for Alvin Green because his name sounded like Al Green. Then there are some who voted for him because his name came first on the ballot. There were probably a few Republicans who voted for him to make mischief (it’s South Carolina, for goodness sake). Then again, there is a very sad and inconvenient truth about why he may have won.
Jim Clyburn thinks it is a conspiracy and wants an investigation. The new information that Joe Wilson’s may have been behind it.
GOP Leadership Factor NM v. SC
If web sites say anything, take a look at the SCGOP site Karen Floyd is using and the NM site Harvey Yates uses.
Why won’t Nikki Haley take Andre Bauer up on his offer of a lie-detector test? If I were in her position I would do it and grand-stand all the way – if I were innocent.
Evidently SC’s GOP Chair Karen Floyd is MIA. Either that or she is, as The Pink Flamingo has stated numerous times, totally and completely incompetent. Right now some of the nastiest stuff I’ve seen in a long time is going down in SC and she is not stepping in to stop it. We are seeing what is basically a civil war between Nikki Haley and Andre Bauer. One of them is telling the truth and one of them isn’t. Bauer has offered to take a lie detector test. Haley continues to blame him for all of her problems.
PPP’s Very Dirty Poll Against Lindsey -

The extreme right and the losertarian crowd is ticked with Lindsey. Why?
“…Graham is a tough partisan, and he was making a point about the future of the GOP, which he thinks needs younger people in its ranks. Crucially, he also believes that lowering the risk to the planet and the human race from climate change qualifies as a conservative cause. His exhortation, if taken to heart, could prompt Republicans and Democrats to compete for young, environmentally conscious voters. At a time of partisan squabbling, that would benefit us all. Beyond the political stakes, there are existential ones. Today’s citizens and leaders are not only the first generation to realize that we are living in the era of global warming. We could also be the last that has a chance of slowing and eventually reversing the process….”
Part II: Why Haley’s Comet Is Bad for the Tea Parties
Have you noticed something that The Pink Flamingo recently discovered? Tea Party supporters are quite willing to cannibalize their own, lie about it, and kick them over a cliff. Tea Party leaders are idiots. Sorry, but that’s how The Pink Flamingo sees ‘em.
SC’s bad boy blogger Will Folks was one of the very first people to promote the Tea Parties. He went above and beyond, even pulling a nasty got-ya on Gresham, a really nasty one. Folks goes after everyone BUT Nikki Haley. He has been consistent in his support of her, often to the detriment of other candidates.
BUT – did Sarah Palin bother to do her homework when denigrating Folks (who deserves every bit of it for past nonsense – but maybe not for this one)?
Did Erick Erickson bother doing his?
Why Haley’s Comet Is Bad for Tea Parties & Conservatives
How long are the tea party people going to be held unaccountable for their stupidity and their problematic endorsements which are going to hurt the GOP?
The Pink Flamingo does not believe in out of state, primary endorsements. It is ruinous to the GOP.
We also have a problem of the egos. Jim DeMint is out for Jim DeMint. Erick Erickson is his little flunkie. DeMint has “officially” stayed out of the ongoing war in SC, but his flunkie is defending Haley. Mitt Romney, along with blogger Will Folks were early Haley supporters. Palin jumped on the bangwagon a few weeks ago. We all know these endorsements are payback for previous endorsements. It is the way the game is played. BUT – DeMint and Palin are making fools of themselves choosing the most “conservative” candidate, not exactly looking for the more stable and qualified candidate. Haley is NOT qualified to be the Governor of SC nor is Rand Paul fit to serve in the US Senate.

Why Does the Cato Institute Defend Pedophiles and Hate GWB?
The Cato Institute hates George W. Bush and Lindsey Graham, but it will bend over backward to defend pedophiles.
The Pink Flamingo keeps telling you how repulsive and immoral libertarians are. This proves it. This one hits home. I was talking to my mother about their defense of pedophiles. Thank God for George W. Bush. If this bill he signed – damning pedophiles to remain in prison – had been in effect when I was a child, I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MOLESTED by the pedophile who was released from prison because he had served his debt to society.
The SCOTUS upheld the Comstock ruling – thank heavens. Sexual predators may be held in prison, indefinitely – thereby protecting innocent children everywhere. The Cato Institute blames George W. Bush for protecting the innocence of children and damning preditory pedophiles to prison.
GOD BLESS GEORGE W. BUSH!
