There is one question The Pink Flamingo wants to ask. Is it possible Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab had help getting on those planes. I’m not talking “little help” but someone in a position of a little bit of power who let this guy get through check-points? Right now the Obama Administration is looking like a bunch of Keystone Cops. There goes that Smell Test.
Who let this kid slip through dogs, scans, check-lists, etc with a bomb?
Do you really think an alienated, depressed, possibly suicidal young man could slip through security without some “inside” assistance?
While we are are asking questions, perhaps it is time to suspend the religious rhetoric and get back to some basics. Look at the guy’s profile:

Umm….where have we seen these characteristics before? Want to be a little bit honest here? Like The Pink Flamingo says, dump the religious angle. We’re dealing with the same personality profile as two young men who destroyed a school in Colorado. It is the same profile of a young man who goes on a rampage on a college campus in Virginia.
The only difference – this time the father tried to warn authorities that his son was up to no good.
What if we are dealing with some truly evil master minds who are manipulating disturbed, obsessed, depressed, alienated, and possibly suicidal young men into doing something for their “religion”?
Which is more frightening?
We think the implications of Islamic terror are horrifying, but what if there are much greater implications – an entire generation of young men, the world over, who have the same profile, irregardless of religion?
Jasper Schuringa knows more about fighting terror than Barack Obama. And – it is paying off for him, which it should!
The Pink Flamingo wants to know just when TSA is going to demand men remove their underwear before boarding a plane. If they really want to crack down on the latest version of getting a bomb on a plane, then they should require the removal of all underwear along with shoes when going through a security check-point. How absurd is this going to get before people do what I do and absolute refuse to fly? The good news is that Napolitano (the former AZ governor who left the state in such an abject mess) says things worked just hunky dory!
Why the heck did it take THREE hours to tell Obama that an incident had occurred? Why is he getting a pass from the media while golfing so darn much? Think about G. H. W. Bush and his vacation. Think about GWB and his time off. Obama works so hard….he needs a break!
Was there a specific reason for the timing? I don’t know about you, but The Pink Flamingo is beginning to think this is also about a spoiled brat monster who wants to stick it to his family and his people. Don’t ever discount the idea that this guy wanted to humiliate his family. The timing of the incident and the timing of the Nigerian ethnic meetings over the weekend is just too precious to deny.
The Real Barack Obama has picked up The Pink Flamingo Part One of The Smell Test and added quite a bit. It is a must read! (Thanks SV!) The Pink Flamingo would like to remind readers about an alleged plot in Kenya to assassinate Hillary Clinton, a plot yet to be confirmed or denied. It just makes a person wonder about a few things – how Obama ignored this one too.
The Pink Flamingo bleeds tartan, with more than just a wee bit o’ Scottish blood runin’ through the veins. When I hear bagpipes that Scottish soul always wins out, and I do nothing but bawl. It is genetic.
Nidal Malik Hasan has a defense attorney who is former military. John Galligan is a retired Army colonel who has experience in high profile cases such as this.
One thing that The Pink Flamingo noticed on Wednesday was when Galligan stated that he felt Hasan could not get a “fair” trial at Fort Hood. I don’t know about you, but Galligan’s comment, to The Pink Flamingo, was highly insulting, especially to a group of men and women who have gone through so much lately.
Then – The Pink Flamingo began to think about things!
From what The Pink Flamingo gathers, the jury will be made up of officers of a higher rank than the alleged terrorist who allegedly killed a baker’s dozen of America’s finest.
If I were in Galligan’s place, the LAST thing I would want is a jury of Hasan’s higher ranking peers. Sure, they will be honest, honorable, and highly educated.
Golly – that’s the problem!
We’re talking honest, honorable, and highly educated.
They are the LAST PEOPLE you want on a jury that is looking at 13 charges of pre-meditated murder!
Why?
We’re not talking Oprah watching, tabloid TV, National Enquirer, if it fits you must acquit, brain dead jurors here. The jury will be made up of men and women who are of higher rank that “Major” Hasan. We’re talking men and women who have a little something going on up stairs in the old gray matter, beyond trash TV, and visions of sobbing cofessions on Jerry Springer.
One of the few political grown-ups in today’s world is George W. Bush. Do you know what he did over the weekend? The guys at HillBuzz, political grown-ups, had this to say:

As we will always be grateful for what George and Laura Bush did this week, with no media attention, when they very quietly went to Ft. Hood and met personally with the families of the victims of this terrorist attack.

The Bushes went and met privately with these families for HOURS, hugging them, holding them, comforting them.
If there are any of you out there with any connection at all to the Bushes, we implore you to give them our thanks…you tell them at a bunch of gay Hillary guys in Boystown, Chicago were wrong about the Bushes…and are deeply, deeply sorry for any jokes we told about them in the past, any bad thoughts we had about these good, good people.
You may be as surprised by this as we are ourselves, but from this day forward George W. and Laura Bush are now on the same list for us as the Clintons, Geraldine Ferraro, Stephanie Tubbs Jones, and the other political figures we keep in our hearts and never allow anyone to badmouth.
Criticize their policies academically and intelligently and discuss the Bush presidency in historical and political terms…but you mess with the Bushes personally and, from this day forward, and you’ll answer to us.
We hope someday to be able to thank George W. and Laura in person for all they’ve done, and continue to do. They didn’t have to head to Ft. Hood. That was not their responsibility….”
Oh, wait. The guys at Hillbuzz are gay. Conservatives are not allowed to like gays, right? The irrational childish haters can do that, but political grown-ups realize that disliking someone because of their personal proclivities is just plain – childish and stupid.
It is becoming more and more apparent that the grown ups are no longer in charge of the political dialogue and the running of this nation. The most perfect example of this is the “blame game” going on in the military and the executive branch over the Fort Hood shooting. The smart thing for Obama to do is blame it on GWB and change the subject.
There is something else The Pink Flamingo wants to mention (duck for cover). It is one of these “adult” things. Not all people who are Muslims are evil. Not all are sociopath, and not all are vile to the point of being demonic. Did you know there are about 3,500 Muslims on active duty in the US military. Did you know:

Is the debate we are having today about the safety of Muslim members of the armed services any different from the discussion in 1942 about Japanese-Americans fighting in the US Military? At least we’ve learned something from our past mistakes and have not rounded up anyone of that specific religion of nationality and put them into camps like we did the Japanese.
Remember after 9/11 how President Bush cautioned not to retaliate against members of the Islamic faith? The Pink Flamingo will be honest about something. I do not like the fact that self-righteous Islamic women in this country flaunt our freedom and rights by going around “covered” with scarves, robes, and turning themselves into third class citizens. In fact, I resent it.
I don’t like this politically correct culture where we must bend over backward to accomodate their religion and they denigrate mine. Then again, I know of Muslims who have become Christians. I have very dear friends from India who are Muslim. If I heard of anyone discriminating against them because of their religion I would be furious.
I just can’t work up a good hate against someone just because they are Muslim. My sister has a Muslim god-son. We have an “adopted” sister from Bombay who is Muslim. If I thought someone was going to mis-treat the people I love because of their religion, I would become a little nasty myself.
It’s too bad we can’t have a discussion about the fact that of the 2000 mosques in this country only 10% are extremists. There is a song in the Rogers and Hammerstein classic, South Pacific.
Right now, thousands of young Islamic men and women are being taught to hate.
Last night Newt twitted that he thinks the solders who lost their lives at Fort Hood and those wounded should be treated as battlefield casualties and injuries. I agree. Oh, The One (Nobel) finally went to Walter Reed to visit with a few wounded soldiers.
That’s okay, this country STILL has a leader. We have a GREAT leader. And – finally people are starting to realize how great this Great Man is!

It is a story about a family so incompetent they cannot even be good crooks. Absolutely NOTHING the Bluth Family does is right, even lying, cheating, stealing, swindling, and hanging with Saddam.
We are living in very interesting times. Any number of people I know are down, depressed, distressed, upset, and just plain terrified about what is coming.

Basically anyone who criticizes He Who Must Be Adored is the enemy.
It is entirely possible health care reform is going passed even if we do not want it. Real unemployment is something we only get when Republicans are in office. The Administration reports 9.8 % unemployment, but we’re actually looking at something around 17%. (Hyscience)
Unfortunately, if we do not turn around and laugh, we are going to lose perspective on life. And laugh we should. Barack Obama is quickly becoming a farce, a joke, the stuff late night legends are made of – if only he were Republican.

Has Barack Obama even once been to visit our injured troops? (Just asking) After all, he is bring peace to the world as he crashes our economy, our currency, and is turning his back on freedom and democracy.
Wonder what he will do for an encore. First, his Islamic czar thinks that Sharia Law is just misunderstood. Dalia Moghad made her remarks on a London TV show hosted by a member of the Hizb ut Tahrir Party. They believe in the non-violent destruction of Western Democracy and the creation of a world-wide Islamic State under Sharia Law.
What a change -Nobel Prize Winning Obama has a Czar promoting Sharia Law for one and all!

On July 19 Staff Sgt. Jesse Cottle lost both of his legs, above the knees. A bomb exploded under him. He was in Afghanistan. To date he has suffered through 6 surgeries.
A family friend organized a welcome to Phoenix crowd to greet Sgt. Cottle when he arrived to visit his parents at their new home. People at the airport, who were simply at the airport saw Marines in dress uniform begin to arrive. By now most people know when something like that happens, one of our heroes are getting ready to return. Even those who did not know what was going on, but knew a hero was returning home reached for an American flag to greet him. They lined up on both sides of the corridor as Stg. Cottle was helped off the plane.
Would someone like to take a chance explaining why the Obama Administration and the State Department have YET to confirm or deny the story that Hillary Clinton was the subject to an al Qaeda plot last month in Kenya?
….If the attempt on Hillary’s life did occurr, and Obama’s Administration can be revealed as having covered up the information, and the MSM is involved in ignoring it, Hillary Clinton may have the 2012 nomination given to her on a silver platter.
Remember: It’s the cover-up that gets you.
I can’t think of any greater punishment to force upon the MSM. They could be forced (sooner than we expect) to admit that George W. Bush was right and their tin god is made of transparent plastic.
The following is a cautionary tale for this 8th anniversary of 9/11.
The Pink Flamingo spent much of Thursday working sources trying to confirm or debunk the story that Hillary Clinton was targeted by al Qaeda. The more I worked the story, the more I am beginning to suspect that the tale might be true. I also suspect that Hillary is doing some work against al Qaeda that might be ruffling some Obama Administration feather.
The big problem is the fact that the story was uncovered by one of the most respected reporters in Africa, Dennis Onsarigo.

THE PINK FLAMINGO STORY
It started out as a joke. During the seven years I worked with the girls of my parish, leading a youth group, one of the things that I stressed were manners. Part of having manners, the way I see it, is to know how to set a proper table, host a party, cater it, and clean up afterward. I was fortunate enough to have a group of very talented girls in my youth group. They learned how to plan for, and execute large church functions, very properly. During one such function I noticed there were several incredibly tacky pink flamingos sitting on the table. Knowing the girls were up to something, I said nothing. A few months later they did the same thing at a function I was hosting at my home. I said nothing. They had a birthday party for me. More pink flamingos appeared - and a joke was born.
Thanks to the girls, all of whom are now grown, I have a collection of pink flamingos. It has become an ongoing joke. When I began working on my political blog, I realized the only possibly title was The Pink Flamingo!
