UPDATED: Republican Voting Records and Tea Party Lies!
Funny thing about the alleged “Tea Party Movement”, promoted and nurtured by FOX News, it is not Republican. We’re being told by Sean Hannity that it is all about a re-vitalized conservative movement. People like Jim DeMint and Ron Paul are heralded as “pure” while men like Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Bob Inglis, and Mitch McConnell are treated like dirt by conservatives as “impure”.
Well, until March and the latest ACU ratings, this is the best we can do. And – it looks like Lindsey Graham, John McCain and Bob Inglis, denigrated as “impure” may actually be “purer” conservatives than Jim DeMint and Ron Paul.
Go figure.
The WPost has their voting record database for the 111th Congress compiled. There are a few surprises.
“…The Post’s voting database showed that Graham voted with Republicans 91 percent of the time while the state’s junior senator stood with his party 87 percent of the time.
The Trouble with Harry Teague (Acid Reflux Edition)
The Pink Flamingo thinks one of the burning questions of the millenia should be as follows: Why would a man who is worth (allegedly) forty million bucks spend over $40,000 of the tax-payer’s money on travel for just one season – summer? I guess he was fighting those dastardly teapartiers?
“…Summer travel for the office of New Mexico’s Harry Teague (D) totaled $40,274. His neighbor, Rep. Ben Lujan (D), disbursed just $20,697. Neither office responded to requests for comment….”
It gets better. I also need to be honest and mention that Teague is a first timer and probably needs to waste all our money setting up shop.

One of the problems Democrats are having these days is trying to stay true to some sort of “value”. When you really have none it is fine if you are going for the superficial look. But, when you get backed into a corner and need to at least look like you stand for something, it gets a little problematic. It doesn’t help when you have someone ethical, honorable, and decent like Steve Pearce running against you!

Harry Teague voted to bring ObamaCare to the House floor, then he voted against it.
There’s a good reason.
Teague, who is an Obama-lovin’ liberal represents one of the more conservative Congressional districts in the country. Like every other Dem without moral grounding, he doesn’t comprehend the fact that when you try to please everyone, you can’t win. If you have no moral center, you end up as a the loser we all hope he will be a year from now.
Now, the liberals are mad at him for voting against ObamaCare.
“…Obama delivered a firm message when he addressed the House Democratic caucus on Saturday night. “Do any of you expect the Republicans not to go after you if you vote against this bill?” Obama asked. Of course not. Republicans will do everything they can to oust conservative Democrats in 2010, just as Democrats defeated moderate Republicans in ’06 and ’08. Congressional Democrats will rise and fall based on the popularity of their president. I’m not sure why that point isn’t obvious by now. If Obama flounders, so will the Blue Dogs and everybody else. Derailing the centerpiece of Obama’s agenda hurts everyone in the Democratic Party….”
Then there is the “self-funding” issue. The other day Harry Teague, bless his little heart, said he did not have a real income, that he was in the negative figures. I guess he has some ‘splainin’ to do about this one.

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) loaned his campaign $500,000 in the third quarter, a reflection that his bid for a fourth term against a wealthy challenger will be an expensive campaign and possibly his most competitive.
Teague, meanwhile, finds himself in a grudge match with an old friend and fellow oil patch millionaire, former Rep. Steve Pearce (R-N.M.), who wants his old job back. Pearce has never used his own money in his campaigns before, but he has not ruled out the possibility of doing so this time, given Teague’s willingness to self-fund last time around. This could produce one of the most expensive House races in the country next year, in one of the cheapest districts to run political ads.

But it is completely unacceptable that Teague voted for a new program that will kill jobs in Southern New Mexico and raise taxes and utility rates on struggling families in Las Cruces and throughout his district. Harry Teague voted entirely against the interest of his constituents. Thanks to him and today’s action in the Senate, New Mexicans are now one step closer to higher taxes and fewer jobs.”…”
Yep, he’s scared.
He should be. His behavior is deplorable and a perfect example of why we need an honorable Republican like Steve Pearce on the job instead of TwoStepping Teague.
He was for ObamaCare, now he is against it – or so he says. Problem is, Harry Teague has a problem with integrity. He tells you he is going to vote against one thing, then turns around and votes for it. So, Harry Teague SAYS he is going to vote against ObamaCare. Problem is, you cannot trust Harry Teague to keep his word – on much of anything. Teague sends out a press release telling why he is NOT going to vote for the bill, then I find this little tidbit.

If a vote is done quietly, Teague votes with Princess Pelosi.
Harry Teague is a marked man. Not only is he considered one of the most vulnerable Democrats on the Hill, but evidently he has a few financial difficulties.

The Obama Revolution Is Alive and Well in ABQ!

Perhaps it should be called the Revolution Against Obama and the Dems. It could be a harbinger for things to come. No matter how much “pork” Harry Teague tries to serve on the 2nd District, and it could make Tom Udall’s signature on a list (including Bernie Sanders) to force a ‘government option’ a kiss of death. Yet another major scandal isn’t going to help things, either.
The opening salvos in the Revolution Against Obama occurred Tuesday in ABQ. The former Democratic bastion, that never met a Democrat who couldn’t get elected, threw a few bums out of office, and have opted for Republican rule! Republican Richard Berry took 43.82% of the vote in a three-way race against three-term incumbent Martin Chavez and Richard Romero. When one considers the fact that Chavez received only 35.42% of the vote, it is enough to realize the election was no fluke!
