What the Tea Party Really Believes?
The Pink Flamingo is terrified of extremes. I see the growing extremism and irrational behavior of the tea parties as just that. It did not start out this way, but it is getting there. The very real problem is the fact that the people involved in the tea parties are failing to weigh the biased information they are receiving from their tin-plated gods like Glenn Beck.
If something is not done to put some of these people in check, and explain the facts of life to them, via American history, we are in for a very terrifying ride, abjectly terrifying. How long will it be before some idiotic tea party twit who is seriously unstable does something like what happened in India over the weekend?
I Shall Yell Tripe!
One of The Pink Flamingo’s favorite movie lines is uttered by the late, immortal David Niven. “I shall yell tripe whenever tripe is served!” It comes from the adorable classic Please Don’t Eat the Daisies, based on writer Jean Kerr’s inspirational book by the same title. I say “inspirational” because it is one of those books that helped to inspire The Pink Flamingo to become a writer. In it, the author mentions the reason she became a writer was because writing was the only career where a person could sleep late on a regular basis! Bingo – career path chosen.
One of the things that amazes me the most is the tea party “patriot” and their desire to nominate and vote for men and women who have either no political experience, or no real world experience, or are abject idiots and frauds. Take the State of Florida, please. Have you heard about the tea party tempest there?
Manipulating the Primaries for Personal Ambition?
Why would Mitt Romney end up donating something like $42,000 to a candidate for governor in South Carolina. Well, first, Gresham Barrett endorsed Fred Thompson in 2008. This is NOT about putting the BEST person into office, it is about Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin manipulating the primaries to get the person THEY think will deliver SC’s extremely important POTUS primary vote in 2012.
Nah, it isn’t about tea parties, patriotism, or even who’s on first. It is about 2012, and the battle to get the nod from the Governor of SC to promote their Presidential ambitions.
SC could be the most pivotal of all primary states. The endorsement of the state’s governor is a big fat hairy deal. We all know Gresham probably won’t endorse either Palin or Romney. Ergo – they gotta go with Haley, shampoo and all.
What are all these endorsements about other than political brownie points?
Mitt Romney’s Foul Donation to Nikki Haley – $42,000!
There are a few ethics complaints about Nikki Haley’s income tax returns. She has staggering leadership problems, but that doesn’t matter. She is a woman, ergo she is better and more worthy than Gresham Barrett. Yea, it sounds dirty to me. Gresham and Natalie donated over $20,000 to charity last year. Haley donated $971 dollars. Even to SC Democrats that sounds cheap and just a little selfish.
Nikki Haley is LOSING the cash race. Gresham is being funded from within the state of South Carolina by normal Repubicans who cannot stomach another term of Mark Sanford nothing. So, Nikki’s little friends must come in from out of state and prop up what could be a floundering campaign.
The GOP’s Not Ready for Prime Time Tea Party “Candidates”
The GOP has a great candidate in Carly Fiorina. On Sunday she was masterful, in complete control of Chris Wallace, keeping to her talking points.
Did you know that Rand Paul is now demanding that reporters submit questions in writing? And you thought Barack Obama was arrogant!
It’s the incompetence stupid!
“…According to Think Progress, Paul (R-KY) has taken to demanding reporters submit questions in writing. He’s keeping to Fox News and other friendly media outlets. Asked about Medicare reimbursement rates at a local event recently, Paul told a reporter to submit the questions “and we’ll look at them.” He said his goal was to campaign around Kentucky. The baffled reporter rebutted: “So you’re not going to answer any questions in person?” (Watch the video here.)
GOP Leadership Factor NM v. SC
If web sites say anything, take a look at the SCGOP site Karen Floyd is using and the NM site Harvey Yates uses.
Why won’t Nikki Haley take Andre Bauer up on his offer of a lie-detector test? If I were in her position I would do it and grand-stand all the way – if I were innocent.
Evidently SC’s GOP Chair Karen Floyd is MIA. Either that or she is, as The Pink Flamingo has stated numerous times, totally and completely incompetent. Right now some of the nastiest stuff I’ve seen in a long time is going down in SC and she is not stepping in to stop it. We are seeing what is basically a civil war between Nikki Haley and Andre Bauer. One of them is telling the truth and one of them isn’t. Bauer has offered to take a lie detector test. Haley continues to blame him for all of her problems.
PPP’s Very Dirty Poll Against Lindsey -

The extreme right and the losertarian crowd is ticked with Lindsey. Why?
“…Graham is a tough partisan, and he was making a point about the future of the GOP, which he thinks needs younger people in its ranks. Crucially, he also believes that lowering the risk to the planet and the human race from climate change qualifies as a conservative cause. His exhortation, if taken to heart, could prompt Republicans and Democrats to compete for young, environmentally conscious voters. At a time of partisan squabbling, that would benefit us all. Beyond the political stakes, there are existential ones. Today’s citizens and leaders are not only the first generation to realize that we are living in the era of global warming. We could also be the last that has a chance of slowing and eventually reversing the process….”
As the Stomach Turns – SC Double-Stardards Edition
When a second man comes forward, either someone is really annoyed with Nikki Haley or there is something to the story?
Currently, Nikki Haley is the recipient of the last bastion of Southern manners and chivalry. Because she is a woman, the man are giving her a break. She is being treated like a frail, fragile, flower of womanhood, pure, never to be dirtied. It doesn’t matter if she is guilty or innocent. It is about the new political double standard.
Are women better than men?
Part II: Why Haley’s Comet Is Bad for the Tea Parties
Have you noticed something that The Pink Flamingo recently discovered? Tea Party supporters are quite willing to cannibalize their own, lie about it, and kick them over a cliff. Tea Party leaders are idiots. Sorry, but that’s how The Pink Flamingo sees ‘em.
SC’s bad boy blogger Will Folks was one of the very first people to promote the Tea Parties. He went above and beyond, even pulling a nasty got-ya on Gresham, a really nasty one. Folks goes after everyone BUT Nikki Haley. He has been consistent in his support of her, often to the detriment of other candidates.
BUT – did Sarah Palin bother to do her homework when denigrating Folks (who deserves every bit of it for past nonsense – but maybe not for this one)?
Did Erick Erickson bother doing his?
Why Haley’s Comet Is Bad for Tea Parties & Conservatives
How long are the tea party people going to be held unaccountable for their stupidity and their problematic endorsements which are going to hurt the GOP?
The Pink Flamingo does not believe in out of state, primary endorsements. It is ruinous to the GOP.
We also have a problem of the egos. Jim DeMint is out for Jim DeMint. Erick Erickson is his little flunkie. DeMint has “officially” stayed out of the ongoing war in SC, but his flunkie is defending Haley. Mitt Romney, along with blogger Will Folks were early Haley supporters. Palin jumped on the bangwagon a few weeks ago. We all know these endorsements are payback for previous endorsements. It is the way the game is played. BUT – DeMint and Palin are making fools of themselves choosing the most “conservative” candidate, not exactly looking for the more stable and qualified candidate. Haley is NOT qualified to be the Governor of SC nor is Rand Paul fit to serve in the US Senate.
Why Are So Many Tea Party Candidates So Pathetically Flawed?
Jim DeMint and Sarah Palin are promoting tea party candidates and cultivating themselves as “king makers”. We have a little problem with this. Have you noticed how many of the tea party candidates are extremely flawed?
We know Jim DeMint is using the entire process for his personal goals.
“…”The Kentucky primary seemed more about handing Mitch McConnell a loss . . . than handing Republicans a win,” says Melissa Clouthier, a conservative blogger for LibertyPundits.net. “It was clear before he was elected, that Rand Paul’s positions would be attacked by the Democrats, and I wonder if this obvious reality entered into any strategic thinking on Jim DeMint’s part.”
