The Pink Flamingo went on line at the old site on October 4, 2005. There is no way I will even copy the first post it was so pathetic, not that it isn’t still pathetic. During those four years the world has changed.
When The Pink Flamingo began blogging my main promise was to support the Republican Party and be as honest as I possibly could. This has not changed. Conservatives have changed. There is a tendency online for conservatives to be more irrational and more extreme. I’ve seen that Libertarian Party infusion I’ve been fearing step in and attempt to hijack the party. Thanks to those same Losertarians good, decent Republicans are now damning George W. Bush and worshiping a seriously disturbed Libertarian demigod who knows when to turn on the tears.
Today I am far more pessimistic than I was four years ago. This pessimisim is not about Barack Obama, who is on the way to becoming comic relief. The pessimism I see is the constant attack on good Republicans by Libertarians who have no shame, no honor, and no decency. Lying about their conservative leanings, these anti-war, conspiracy believing, nuts are marching lock-step with their fearless leaders like Ron Paul and a few others, taking our country over a cliff.
Have you noticed that the Democrats and the media under the Chicago style of Barack Obama act more like something out of the Godfather than actual political realities. You do what we want or we make you an offer you can’t refuse. Say, you want to keep those knee-caps?
Mob rule is at it again, this time going after Sarah Palin’s co-author, trying to destroy her as a warning to anyone else who might want to take a job working for another high powered Republican. They are also trying to warn off anyone who might want to work with Sarha Palin at a later date.
NOTE TO DEMOCRATS: Get a life.
The monsters of the hit, both far right and far left never stop. There’s not much difference in them, either. I think the big difference is with the elected officials. Republicans bend over backwards to be nice, decent, have good manners, and seriously take our Founding Fathers and the Constitution seriously.
There is no difference between Obama fans and Trekkies. Please, I am not trying to insult Trekkies, only making a point about the “Dear Leader” films and school plays.
Want to talk about crazy fans? That’s what we are dealing with. When I think of crazy fans, I always go back to one of those almost sacred moments of my life. Yes, I remember where I was, sitting on the edge of the bed in the Fedder’s bedroom with Karen Fedder and my sister. We weren’t very old, but our parents, who were having dinner consigned us to the bedroom to watch THEM. (FYI – Jerry Fedder and Lindsey were law partners).
Democrats think it is okay, which tells you something about them. My fellow Republicans are in a snit over the actions of a New Jersey elementary school. So am I. I’m furious about it. Or, I was furious, then I started remembering back when I was in the 4th or 5th grade and had a crush on some TV star. I refuse to mention the star or the TV show on the grounds that it might reveal how old I am.
He’s so perfect, dingbat despots want him ALWAYS!
Please, while you read, listen to a little Stevie Wonder. It will set the right mood.
The One (telegenic) has been everywhere this week, standing out, saving the world, just about doing what ever he wants, hobnobbing with despots and dictators to his little heart’s content.
If George W. Bush had taken this long to declare a federal disaster – anywhere – we would never hear the end of it. Finally, today, Barack Obama issued a Federal Disaster Declaration for flood victims in Cobb, Palding, Douglas, and Cherokee Counties. Governor Sonny Perdue made the request several days ago.
What took Barack Obama so long?
Why has he YET to visit the site of the disaster?
This is one of those posts I’ve played with, edited, deleted, and rewritten over a period of two weeks, collecting material quite frequently. Perhaps the word “bully” is over-used. In the case of Democrats it has several different meanings. Democrats and their flunkies bully for two reasons – first to intimidate, harass, and discourage. Secondly, they bully because they are out of ideas. They can only win by harassment, intimidation, and discouragement.
Why would a man who prides himself on his discretion, who has been so careful not to denigrate or comment on Barack Obama, be so loose-lipped with the junior staff at the White House?
It doesn’t make sense and is totally out of character.
As a biographer, I’ve learned that one way to fact-check something written about a person is to see if that material is out of character, or rings true.
When I first started researching the life of Wyatt Earp I discovered there were two versions of his life. He was either good or evil with nothing in between. I soon learned that writing nasty and untrue things about Wyatt Earp was a cottage industry, treasured by liberal revisionists.
