The other night, The Pink Flamingo was watching one of the great American classics, To Kill a Mockingbird. For those ignorant wretches who have not seen the movie nor read the classic book, you have my pity. Atticus Finch (played by the late, great Gregory Peck) was the ultimate Southern attorney living in a small town. He understood that all men and women are equal, no matter what their color, nor their what was in their pocketbook.
When the haters could not crush Atticus Finch for going against their demands by defending a Black man innocent of the rape charges filed against him by a white trash woman, they tried to kill his children. There’s not much difference between the man who tried to kill the children of Atticus Finch and the tea party “patriots” who try killing the reputations and careers of good and honorable men and women who absolutely refuse to bend to their will.
“…I’ve always said I was a Reagan-style conservative. But I don’t think Reagan was a real Republican. He just maintained some shared values….” Glenn Beck
Losertarians are crowing about the nomination of Nikki Haley in South Carolina. She is one of them. They love her. Makes sense. Then there is the idiocy in Idaho, where the Losertarians have taken over the GOP. They’re scary, demanding a repeal of the 17th Amendment.
Are the Tea Parties an off-shoot of the John Birch Society?
Once upon a time, the GOP was the party of Ronald Reagan. Unfortunately, in the quest for libertarian purity, the ascendancy of Ron Paul, the Club for Growth, and absolutes, Ronald Reagan has been thrown under the bus and completely forgotten.
Reagan is dead, long live Ron Paul and Jim DeMint. It is now about egos and power. Forget doing what is right for the country, it is about a populist movement that is out of control, and a news network that is feeding it.
Perhaps it is all about keeping Barack Obama in power, for that is what is going to happen if the current trends continue.
“…Ultimately, Rand Paul is a walking target for Democratic negative ads in a closely divided state with a culture of commitment to national security. But right now running the country – or even winning elections – is not a top-of-mind concern for many Republicans. They are voting to send a message, and it’s no time to be fussy about the background, competence, associations, and inner convictions of the messengers….” David Frum
The Pink Flamingo is waiting for the day when Republicans will garner the courage to oust the Ron Paul Bots and thumb our collective noses at the so called Tea Party “Patriots” many of whom are NOT Republicans.
Have you listened to Michael Medved’s Friday show? Did you now that in the UK, 12% of all votes went to idiot fringe parties? If 5% of the idiots who had voted for fringe parties have voted for David Cameron,he would be the PM.
“...An analysis of British election results finds that David Cameron and the Conservative Party were deprived of a majority in Parliament by just 16,000 votes, according to the London Times. “Cameron came so near and yet so far. Just 16,000 extra votes for the Tories, distributed in the 19 constituencies in which the party came closest to winning, would have spared us a weekend of negotiation and speculation.”…”
Then there is the lesson of the Utah debacle. The Hedgehog Blog has a photo from the Utah GOP Convention. If it is true, then LOSERTARIANS are the ones tho took out Bennett, and should hang their heads in shame for behaving so irrationally. There are a few jerk losertarians who are horrors, sorry, but that is what they are. I am disgusted by them. I don’t know if I could ever vote for one of their candidates. Then again,
