My friend Tim Rich was one of the early Navy Seals. Tim lost a battle with a fatal brain tumor last fall. My “sister” Alicia, who is in charge of her school’s annual salute to vets, last year ended the day in tears. Tim was always the star of her show. One day I hope Tim’s family will start investigating his service – or the remaining records. Once he told me he did such horrible things in the service of his country and for freedom that he was afraid his children would never forgive him if they knew about his deeds. Tim was never ashamed of what he did, nor the fact that he did them. He was haunted for many years, until he found Peace through Christ.
