Screen Shot 2014-05-27 at 11.57.04 PMJoe the Plumber,Samuel Wurzelbacher, wrote an open letter to the parents of the murder victims of Elliot Rodgers.  Let’s face it, we are currently being forced to put up with a very nasty temper tantrum from white, middle class males, who are still suffering from the fact that there is a man in the White House who is not of their skin color.  Not only are they taking it out on minorities, but they are also taking it out on women.  They hate the feminist movement, which they blame for women being empowered enough not to worship at their feet. Insecure, impotent, and abjectly incompetent, they will do and are doing just about anything to force their will on anyone who is not of their race and gender.  Their horrible behavior is also being reflected in the patriarchal, complimentarian philosophy that men and women are separate and not equal. Godly Christian men have head-ship over women to the point where Pat Robertson dared to say that a woman owes a man sex for helping her around the house.

The truly deplorable letter Wurzelbacher wrote to the parents of the murdered victims, singling out Richard Martinez, who dared to say what everyone is thinking, is just another indication of how abjectly out of touch these men are.

“...As harsh as this sounds – your dead kids don’t trump my Constitutional rights….I noticed the mainstream media have stopped the practice of immediately reporting the psycho maniac is a conservative Tea Party Republican Christian. Guess they’re sick of having to hide being wrong every time when it comes out the whacko votes Democrat?

Mr. Martinez and anyone calling for more restrictions on American’s rights need to back off and stop playing into the hands of the folks who merely capitalize on these horrific events for their own political ends.

They don’t care about your family or your dead children at all. They sound like they do, whereas I sound uncaring and like I say, harsh. Don’t be fooled – I care about your family and mine. The future of our very liberty lies in the balance of this fight.

In conclusion, I cannot begin to imagine the pain you are going through, having had your child taken away from you. However, any feelings you have toward my rights being taken away from me, lose those….”

Sure, he does have his Constitutional right to make an ass of himself and to own a gun. He even has a Constitutional right to freedom of speech and to insult a man who is grieving over the loss of his 20 year old son.  Everyone does.  The problem, though, is even if there is this Constitutional right to make an ass of one’s self, what happened self-restraint, manners, good taste, and basic human decency.

When a political movement becomes so sure, so positive that they are abjectly right, no matter what the do or say, or who they hurt, something is terribly wrong.  The far right has reached this point.  They are so positive that their cause is the righteous one, that they are on a mission from God, that it no longer matters who they hurt.

They are above all of that now.  They have become so important that they can do or say anything they want.  They can hurt anyone they want.  They can destroy anyone they want.  They have become the ultimate narcissists.

But – they have a Constitutional right to behave that way.

The problem is, they no longer comprehend the fact that other people have the same rights.  When you forget that those around you have the same rights as you, then you cease to behave like a civilized individual.  You aren’t much better than an animal.
